  1. Found it. It is in the "how to's" in the garage section...
  2. Just a panel behind the glove box. I think if you search "preventing a fire" it may come up. Easy though just removethe glove box and there is a panel behind it. Remove the panel and clean out all the trash it has accumulated over the years. I sucked mine out with a shop vac after I got as much as I could out by hand...
  3. Have you checked inside the heater airbox yet? Who knows what could have fallen down the hood louvers. A few threads on cleaning it out, you may be surprised on what you find, and possibly prevent a cabin fire. It is behind the glove compartment.
  4. I have seen a few rhino lined trucks around here and it makes me laugh every time.... Pretty hillbilly if you ask me. Talked to one guy about it, I thanked Jethro for his time...
  5. Awesome rig! Gotta love the WD21's... I have a 91 and love it. I graduated HS in Durango but am now in Cali. I am surprised no one has hit you up for that sun shade..... I am! The only thing my truck is missing ! I will PM you.
  6. Nice! American ingenuity t it's finest!
  7. We are all jealous of your Patrol.... Pics for sure! Welcome to the forums.
  8. I am in, depending on shipping, customs, etc. Let me know when this comes together and what the bottom line will be. I am 90% in!
  9. Ok. My fix. Spun the rotor around to the distributor # 1 firing terminal and yep, it was way off. Decided to get back to basics and pulled the #1 plug (looked really nice and tan by the way) and ran it to the top. looking at the cap I was at BDC so spun it around again and brought it to TDC and confirmed that rotor was pointing at #1 terminal. Looked at the pulley and yep it was out like the tech said but I did not feel like pulling all that stuff so guess what I did? Yep. New marks. Broke out the timing light and got it setup to about 12 degrees BTC at 750 rpm. The whole issue was never emissions anyway, he just had no timing reference marks..... Hope he is satisfied!
  10. Thank you guys again for your input and help. I wanna just do it tomorrow morning but also wanna take it to the guy that did it and see if he offers to correct his mistake.... He should, but who knows? Have a great weekend everyone!
  11. Thanks guys. The smog tech said he made a chalk mark on the pulley so that should help. You are right B. I knew better than to let someone else do it. It was in the middle of the summer, hot as piss here, I was busy and made a mistake not making the time. I have never done one on a Pathfinder but on Subarus, Hondas..... Learned a valuable lesson I thought I already knew. If you want it done right, do it yourself!
  12. Thanks. I guess I will be tackling that. says 40-50 ATDC. Any idea which direction I should turn it. CW or CCW? Appreciate the help...
  13. OK. Make this as short and to the point as possible. I bought my Pathfinder 2 years ago and had no idea when the timing belt was done. At that time I had more money than time so I had it done by a local shop. It has always ran top notch since but today I had to smog it. It blew awesome numbers but did not pass visual/functional inspection because the tech said the timing marks were off 40-50 degrees. My first thought is that he screwed something up when we installed the timing belt/water pump. Is there anything else I should look at before I accuse him of doing it wrong and expecting him to make it right? I was thinking the damper in the harmonic balancer may have slipped? I would think I would feel that driving it. There is absolutely no vibrations and the truck runs awesome... Hoping one of you gurus can help me with this. His shop is not open until Monday so I have some time to do some of my own checks and make a decision.. Thanks
  14. Rancho's are cheap but some think they are a bit harsh. That is what I am running and they are fine for me but I like a stiff ride {PLEASE no jokes!) Cant say about the Monroes but you kinda get what you pay for in a shock. One good thing about the cheap shocks, you are not out that much if you don't like them.
  15. Well, it has been 2 years so hadta pull the cold air intake off and install the stock intake to pass visual smog check tomorrow. How ridiculous, if it blows clean it should not matter what engine configuration you have. Since we are on the subject, has anyone seen a place to buy a CARB legal cold air intake for a WD21 VG30E?
  16. Unless of course you get T-boned my some old lady that should not be driving, bend the axle and have to tear the rear end apart to replace. Didn't lose that much fluid but it was enough I guess to set off the ABS light. Maintenance 101, isn't it? Missing fluid has to go somewhere..... Guess I need to learn to use the quote function though....
  17. My ABS light was doing that, I checked the fluid and although it wasn't "low" it wasn't full either. Filled it up and it hasn't happened since.
  18. I just replaced mine a few months back and I don't remember the cost but I do remember it seemed amazingly cheap for an OEM product. I recall a thread somewhere too that mentions just cleaning and tweaking the contacts....
  19. Just hit the blue link in the original post....
  20. Just remember it is a safety feature, keeps you from starting the vehicle in gear and lurching forward, or backward....... I personally would just defeat it like I do on my motorcycle kickstand switch etc. but understand they did put it there for a reason....
  21. Whatever. Didn't work for me but I didn't waste time screwing with it, just went straight to the source.. What is the point anyway? As long as she gets what she needs.
