That's some insane wind! I witnessed about 3/4 that the last time I was in Anza. Been to that gas station many times too
My defroster works very well.
The rear wiper- not so much. I replaced the blade, but the arm itself seems to be tweaked as it won't fully wipe the window. Still better than nothing.
Wikipedia usually has charts with production totals. You may even be able to mail Nissan, I know companies like Mercedes and VW will give you a "birth certificate" that details production number, assembly point, options, etc.
Argh. Well it was a wasted thought anyway since the brake lines are in the way where I would otherwise drill. I'm wondering, would one of those "sock" prefilters around a cone k&n help at all? They seem to claim 99% water resistance...
Right, that's what I thought. So I'm thinking of just keeping the stock, baffled setup then, with my k&n filter. I wonder if there's a stealth snorkel setup possible, like the through the firewall snorkels available for jeeps.
Well at this time, I'm not quite ready to commit to a snorkel both financially and in the looks department I was just curious if the mod would negatively effect the stock tolerance for water.
For those of you who have removed the factory air filter housing and put a round pod filter (K&N etc) in its place, have you experienced any water intrusion when off roading? (IE fording etc)
I would like to have a little more performance, but am a little concerned as to if the CAI setup would make it so I could cross only shallower water vs stock.
Thanks!
I was checking the NVs out at the OC Auto Show- really really neat, and they absolutely kill the old econolines. A 4x4 one would make one hell of a rig. Plus on the little version like the transit connect, had the same door handles (on the rear door) as my Pathy
Try and get them down to $4500, then you should be in the sweet spot. I bought mine last year (same options minus the stick) for $5900 at 70k miles. You may want to check private sellers, that's what I always prefer- maintenance records, get to know the owner, and are a lot less likely to armor-all over stains and leaks.
Thanks! I'll check it out in the morning. Seems to be especially affected by the recent rain? Or maybe just exacerbated by my sliding around corners haha
I'm relatively certain it's been discussed before, but I can't seem to find it. How exactly do I stop my dome light from turning on and off when going over bumps, sharp turns etc? I assume it's something to do with the door sensors, which part is it that usually breaks?
I replaced my O2 sensor on Bank 2 with a Bosch unit a few months ago. It was underneath the car on the driver's side, basically between the body and the tranny, with several clips along the way to hold it in place. They're very fiddly- watch out. If I remember correctly, it plugs in toward the front of the engine.
I bought a U-Scan OBDII reader, and thus far has been quite helpful- free Android/Iphone app which allows you to diagnose nearly anything. You can also buy a $29 expansion that has specific code decoding to your vehicle.
I realize I have a different motor (VQ35) but I have the dual in/single out 2.5" Magnaflow 18" muffler, removed the resonator, and love it. Little more power, little bit better mileage, and the perfect tone- not obnoxious at all, but a nice hum.

Seems cool, now if only there was a self-healing paint...
What a mess! Sorry to hear about you going through that.
And as far as exhaust- I have the factory route but with a magnaflow 18" dual in/single out muffler, and resonator delete with stainless tip- love the sound!
