  1. I wonder if you'll ever find parts from Mr.Jim in your scrap yard hunting?
  2. valve covers and rear main seal. Oil loss is not related to bad fuel consumption but a sign that your engine is in need of some love. find the leak and fix it before more bad things happen. BTW what sort of milage are you getting? 4x4 SUVs are not known to be economical DDs.
  3. try this, or this one and there is a good write up on one of the Nissan Frontier forums as well all nissan 3.3 vg-30 engines suffer this problem. I paid someone to do the timing belt as it is a PITA to do without more than basic mechanical know how, and a place to do it. but I did the KS relocation myself on the front street.
  4. I thought Krypton was in Alberta? shouldn't need brokers fees. ship via Canada Post.
  5. not to mention that snorkels just look damn cool!
  6. congrats on the new JIM. as for suggestions....Diesel?? maybe? SAS? long range fuel tank? can't wait to see how things turn out. and please post photos here as lots of us are not facebook users.
  7. the end is nigh. designed obsolescence is being factored it to more and more things. I'm with B, I'll only drive beaters I can fix myself until there are none left.
  8. try looking through this. http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/topic/19867-max-tire-size-vs-lift-kit-used-vs-custom-or-oe-wheels/
  9. food and water? for you and your partner. I teach wilderness self reliance as a side project (www.borealisbushcraft.com) and have notice (sadly) especially in my part of the world where civilization can be far apart that most people don't keep any type survival gear with them at all. no extra clothing, no blankets or sleeping bag, no signaling devices, and yet travel hundreds of Kms through empty landscape with the idea that there vehicle will never brake down or end up in a ditch. In fact I just had a conversation with a neighbor this evening about traveling in winter on highways through the prairies, and he told me about time when he hit the ditch during a snow storm in Saskatchewan and only survived because of his dogs and the fact that he had almost a full tank of gas when he got stuck and so was able to run the car throughout the night to keep warm until he was rescued by the RCMP. He now travels with a fine survival kit that should work great if a similar thing should happen. One lucky guy. Have you notice the same thing? any good stories?
  10. I'd replace the sensor first and see where that gets you.
  11. I hope you installed the 2" lift springs from AC, all that weight should settle them to about normal stock ride height. all kidding aside, I feel you'll enjoy your new ride. way more nimble in the trails than the old 'burbon. I think I've finally found someone who carries even more crap than I do. If your not always prepared your never prepared.
  12. plasti dip is an amazing product. there are loads of videos on youtube showing how to "dip" your wheels. not worried about the paint gluing the tires as I didn't have that much over spray.
  13. if you don't do it sell it to me and I will.
  14. I love the 3ft of snow and T shirts look. but I sure don't miss it.
  15. 4x4parts.com or Ruggedrocks.com for the gearing. the button drops the trans from overdrive back into 4th and holds it there at highway speeds. very helpful on hills. it will also change the shift point from about 2500ish RPM to about 3400RPM ( i might not be exact on those numbers). BTW very nice buggy but why did you put a "HeeP" face on it. IMO you shoulda tried to keep a nissan face.
  16. Fleury's did it all here. http://www.nissanpat...50/?hl=limiting this is what I'm planning on doing sometime this summer if I don't end up with a small SFD from hawairish.
  17. this is what she looked like when I got her. this is what she looks like now, plasti dipped bumpers and wheels, front "Burger" left the rear Pathfinder logo chrome.
  18. Commonly known as a Transfer case or TCase for short. as in it transfers power to the front wheels. along with having a reduction gear in it (4LO). its kinda like a short transmission with a 180* bend in it.
  19. so this should be related to fuel then. could be you stirred up some sediment when installing the new pump. maybe clogged injectors and or lines? have you checked fuel pressure? I'd investigate this before throwing any money at it.
