Nissan recommends that these are replaced at the time the struts are replaced. Honestly, if you're going to have them off it is best to replace them while you're there. Kind of like changing out your water pump while you are replacing the timing belt.

The whole reason I went with my lift started with the Pathfinder "saggy ass" syndrom. My guess is that these are pretty heavy vehicles and the stock springs are just too wimpy. Look at everyone's side-by-side spring photo's. Here's mine ...

Man, after my timing jumped from mud getting pushed up into the timing belt chamber, I have to dissagree. A chain would not skip a cog as easily as the rubber belt with dried up clogs of dirt.

Whoa! Some how your spring slid off of the lower spring perch of the strut. How the fskc did that happen? I would imagine that your Pathy has a slight lean on that corner. Does it not make all sorts of racket when you go over bumps in the road? We pretty much replace the entire top assembly which includes the strut mount (visible) and bearing (small plastic piece that is not visible).

Glad you resolved the vibration issue. I'd imagine that the balance was somewhat off with the missing bolt. Oh, and thanks for making me nervous about handling my grease gun now.

Man, I'm really impressed. I've never seen a 2x4 into a 4x4 swap before .. much less an R50.

Three hours labor is not too rediculous. I only did my lift myself because my buddy has a nice little shop at his house and we just spent the afternoon drinking beer and listening to music while doing the job. It easily took us half a day with both of us working to install the springs, struts, shocks, manual hubs, and wheels (the tires were already mounted to my wheels). Unless you just want the personal satisfaction of doing the lift yourself, I'd recommend letting the mechanic do the job safely for just three hours of labor.

Like mentioned in this thead, you've got something plugging up your drain hose. I inadvertantly pinched the hose in my Miata when I was reinstalling the dash after changing out my heater core. I had the same thing except it would piss all over my feet on sharp left turns. You probably have picked up some leaves or other trash that is plugging it up.

Yeah, they included sleeves with my Ranco's.

You shouldn't have any problems with 15" rims clearing the calipers. I replaced my tri-spoke 16" wheels with some 15" Pro Comp rims. Plus, 15" tires tend to be a little cheaper (which is why I went down a size).

The front of the 18 wheeler is made of plastics and fiberglass.

I came really close to doing the same! I would have left them off of mine if it wern't for the holes in the fender. I think that it actually looks like a larger lift with them off as it increases the wheel well opening by just over an inch (or so).

I really dig the light bar. Nice job mounting it as well! (did you notice that your negative battery cable is mounted upside down?)
