It's not that bad if you take your time, and the max you can go is a 4" Trailmaster suspension lift, new aftermarket UCA's cranked up 3" or so, and the 3" body lift for a theoretical total of 10 inches.

Troubleshooting Overheating Problem....
88pathoffroad replied to crystallinesheen's topic in The Garage
How long did you run it? It takes a few minutes to heat up enough to open the thermostat and allow the pump to circulate coolant through the radiator. Could you have possibly accidentally put the thermostat in backwards? -
Wiring Diagram For Ipf Fogs In Arb Sahara

Relays have two wires just to operate, a ground and a 12V in to turn it on. The other two wires should be 12V main in fused supply and 12V output(s). It could also share grounds for the lights, but that's kind of unusual. Unplug the wiring plug from the relay and look inside there to see if there are any numbers beside the tabs. Should be a 30, 86, 87, etc...go by any generic relay wiring diagram from there. -
Nah, it makes it want to track a little straighter on the rear, but when you hit the gas, the front end will try to move one way or the other. It's not a dangerous situation, just different. You have to get used to it.

Just Got 1st Pathy And Its Got Issues

You bought a 15 MPG Pathfinder to get good gas mileage? Heh. Check your fusible links at the battery, and after that it may need the ECU replaced if it sat with reversed polarity for a while. I dunno. Will the battery take a charge or is it shot? -

Er, how many wires do you have on each? It should be a fairly simple setup. -
What specifically would you like to know? Tow hitches are tow hitches. They bolt on with simple hand tools. Wiring is wiring. If you don't understand how to wire it up, you don't HAVE to do it yourself. It's not very hard. Trailer brake controllers come with instructions if you need one...

A brake hold-down kit is a set of washers, pins and springs (IIRC) that keep the brake shoes flat against the backing plate inside the disc. As Cuong said, the e-brake is a small drum brake INSIDE the disc on the rear axle.

Having welded a diff on a RWD car once before myself, I can tell you that driving characteristics will be altered somewhat...when taking curves at higher speeds, the rear will track differently. It will be tough to make sharp turns in parking lots. If you have a manual transmission and downshift while moving at too high of a speed, both rear tires can lock at the same time and send you into a skid, particularly in rain or snow. Works great for offroading, though.

Alignment shims are something an alignment shop installs, they're not lift kit parts. If you need longer bolts to get it aligned, you'll have to find some. Replacement bolts should be 14mm x 1.5 x 60 or 70 mm length(as measured from the shoulder of the head to the tip of the bolt). I found some locally at a tractor supply and farm store. If longer bolts aren't needed, then the alignment shop should be putting shims in for you after you take care of the UCA bushings and tie rod ends.

2-doors are almost exactly the same as 4-doors, we just have different EGR hookups. Dual exhaust with two mufflers is gonna be a bit excessive, plus if you're still at stock height there won't be much room underneath. Just run yourself a new 2.5" pipe from the y-pipe back to a new muffler. A high-flow cat is a good idea, I've never heard anyone complain about noisy exhaust just from using a HF cat.

If this happened right after replacing bulbs, check your connectors to make sure the pins inside are still in good shape. You can bend them outward a bit if needed to tighten up the connection.

Are they produced -for- the Pathfinder, or are they a test-fit from a different vehicle? -
Replacing Upper Coolant Bypass Hose....driving Me Insane!

Use a little bit of WD40 or dish soap on the ends to lube it up and make slipping it on easier. -
It's the exact same thing.

The 300ZX engine bay was designed to allow for addition of a turbo. There's room for it in there. There isn't any under the hood of a Pathy until you make it yourself. That's the holdup. Very few of the stock 300ZX parts will work in a Pathy.

The floor's a different shape, but you can make anything fit with enough willpower and african-american engineering.

That'd be a flexible intake elbow, not too sure of the exact term for it.
-
Sometimes the IAC valve will do that, I think. It might need a cleaning or something. The MAF sensor can also cause an unsteady idle if it gets dirty or the connector is loose.
-
IIRC they're only about $20 from a dealership.

Look for rear frame rust. Bang on the frame to make sure, sometimes it looks fine outside but is paper-thin. Exhaust manifold studs breaking is the most common problem.

Sounds like it needs to be tweeked upward a bit more and then aligned, that's all. Pics!
