  1. Why is this in the How-To section? Sheesh.
  2. If the hub was only partially engauged, I bet it was making noise from partially latching onto the axle. The diff should be fine, regardless.
  3. If you're just replacing boots, pull the axle, get a new boot and reinstall it with new grease. Costs you time, effort and about $12. You can get replacement CV boots from most parts stores. Just don't get the universal boots with the snaps/zipties...those are bad.
  4. Yeah, they're the same unit. They used the TBI on both the 4-cyl AND the V6. Same thing.
  5. How so? You'd have to fill the diff to the top(hard to do, considering the fill hole is halfway down the diff) then run it at high speed until it heated the oil so hot it pressurized the diff. I've never heard of that happening.
  6. Ah, that's just surface rust. Use some purple cleaner and a pressure washer on it, then give 'er a wire-brush treatment. Or just pressure wash it, let it dry and paint right over the top with Rust-oleum or an appropriate rust-covering spraypaint.
  7. Not unless you boiled nearly all the coolant off and let it run until it was off-the-wall hot.
  8. Do a bounce test to check your shocks. Bad shocks will let the vehicle sway as well.
  9. Here's a complete TBI and intake for a 4-cyl on Ebay for cheap. Toss the intake and you're set to go. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Nissan-Z24-...002277251QQrdZ1 And another... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Throttle-Bo...001389314QQrdZ1
  10. I'm not surprised it failed, even with an add-on cooler. It all boils down to proper maintenance from the time it is new until today. If is has been neglected until you buy it and then you do a bunch of work on it, it may still die just like yours and mine did. There's no magical fixing properties in installing a cooler and changing the fluid on an old neglected transmission.
  11. Pop off the plastic tabs on top of the light and you will find the screws. The light is all made of LED's, so there is no replacement bulb. If the whole light no longer works, check your wiring first to make sure you have voltage actually present at the light before replacing it.
  12. Parts store? Dealership? Have you even tried calling around?
  13. Go back to the top and click the link I provided..........
  14. The rattlecan bedliner spray pretty much comes right off if you don't prep the metal VERY WELL beforehand. Just so you know. It's thin, too. Regular PE bedliners are thick, but they're sprayed on when the plastic is molten so go figure.
  15. 1. No such thing as slotted or adjustable balljoints for Nissans. 2. I'd be VERY careful driving that around if it's making noises and won't align and has that much play in it. Loose front end parts are NOT something you leave alone and continue driving around on. One errant bump and whoosh, your wheel about falls off, you crash and wreck into other cars and everyone loses a bunch of money...hopefully that pedestrain/biker/bicyclist wasn't standing in the wrong place...you get the idea. 3. Poly bushings squeak, but I bet what's squeaking on yours are the steel sleeves that the bushings slide onto. Did you lube the insides of those before install?
  16. The idle-up solenoid shouldn't be getting hot by itself. It may be completely shorted if that's the case.
  17. Then you may have plugged the stock dimmer wire into the wrong wire on the deck. That's what will pop the fuse for the marker lights and dash lights.
  18. Relays don't usually die by themselves, but it has happened. I'd check the battery first, then the fusible links, then fuses. Something caused it to cease functioning, it didn't just quit for no reason.
  19. A 240SX wheel fits, from what I've heard. Other Nissan car wheels may also fit. Measure the splined shaft on yours and take a caliper to the junkyard, you never know.
  20. Just not uphill. Downhill and straightaways are fine for OD. The auto trans will usually shift on it's own and come out of OD up hills anyway. I wouldn't really worry about it.
  21. If the vehicle has power locks, every door has an actuator, even the driver's door. How else would the door unlock by the push of a button?
  22. Yes you do and yes it does. Very tight fit on those.
  23. Ew, gross. Ghetto circle tails on a Pathfinder when everything else on it is square? Have you no sense of proportion and style, man?
  24. Do you still have the stock SS tabs on the centerlink?
