do the XE seats have that height adjustment? Back when I had the hardbody I always had the seat at the highest setting, but now years later (and older!!)in the PF I can't stand the seat adjusted all the way up.

well after I finish the remote oil filter I'll have t hit the junkyards and look for a plate style cooler, I won't be keeping that small stock cooler in line.

I have NGK wires on my sentra got them pretty cheap thru Rockauto.com

so that cooler on an R50 is in addition to the one built into the radiator? That looks like it would be used for cooling power steering fluid or something.

I know I watched it a few times yesterday, I wanted to try to get the filter mounted vertically. I think I'm going to use a section of a semi mudflap with a quick release fastener system to block off the area where I put the filter. The thick rubber should protect the filter from anything thrown up by the tire and it will still be easily removable (or at least on side) to get to the filter.

I knew someone was going to ask about that !! Actually this page is out of a 1990 calendar so it's been in storage for about 21 years.

the only thing I was thinking that could happen with it here is say if a stone got caught in the tire thread and than suddenly released throwing it forward, but I may also fab a shield for the filter.

I've read all the threads on this but I wanted to ask about the frame rail style coolers which I've never seen discussed on here and I wanted to see what you all said about that pathetic looking stock cooler.

OK, today I mounted the remote filter mount, I took a few pics to show where I put it: this pic is with the tire turned as far as it will go to the left: Pic of how I mounted it, I bought a bent bracket from the hardware store, I was looking to get something cheap as I'm basically broke today, I straightened the bracket with my vise, a big hammer and the cement floor, the bracket had two holes drilled in to it on each end, I used a rivnut for one of the inside holes than drilled the other three and used 1/4 -20 bolts and nuts. On the bracket I used three 1/4 -20 bolts and nuts, it worked out good because where the nuts are on the back of the flat bracket they fall right into where the hole is in the radiator support, I did massage the metal around that hole to make it flat. The filter has about 1/2" of clearance between it and the body mount behind it, this filter is the Purolator version of a Fram PH-8A: another view close up: Next I need to figure out the length for the hoses and get a price on them, if the braided SS hoses aren't too crazy I'll get them if they are plain old rubber for me. Coming off the engine will probably use a straight -8 AN connector and on the filter mount end a 90 degree -8 AN connector. If the 90 degree end is too close to the inside of the inner fender it to will be massaged with the big hammer.

front or back? I'm guessing the front.

blower resistor was meant for the post about the fan only working on certain speeds by the way. Not sure about the 2000 model PF's do they use vacuum from the knob or a cable still? If a cable I would check under the dash to make sure the end of the cable is not bent or binding.

Was asking about the temp range for the gauge because the Autometer gauge's I'm looking at go 100 - 250 degrees 100 - 260 or 140 - 280 degrees.

FSM for everything, it's free, don't even bother with the other ones for anything

Factory service manual, the others are pretty much useless, always happens when you go to look up something specific to your truck it shows the detail for another year which is different than yours !! You can download the FSM for free from here: http://www.nicoclub....000_Pathfinder/ just click on each category, when it opens click the diskette symbol top of the page, and select save, create a folder first named 2000 PF FSM or whatever you want too.

what they said, my first thought before reading the replies was drill it out and tap it to a larger size, taps are available from any hardware store.

Last 2 times I figured my MPG I got 17.7 and 16.1, and I will admit I have been driving like a mad man lately, usually cruising to and from work at about 85, the other day this guy in a ranger kept speeding up to stay right next to me, no idea why so finally I floored the gas and it downshifted, got up to about 90 or so and he never caught back up.

and if you make a pair of mounts like Hayseed did you wouldn't have to modify anything, as was said they probably bolt to one of the fender bolts and just sit in the gap between the hood and fender, kind of like some of the CB antenna mounts that are out there. As for the OP's 2 links, the first one will not work because the older Jeeps have a windshield frame that the mount bolts too, the pathfinder (and hardbody) obviously the door wraps around the front and covers the edge of the windshield. So to do something like the Jeep mount you would need to mount the light to the door. The second link, the mounts just bolt to the hood hinge on the Jeep, you could bolt those to the pathfinder hood but if you did I would definitely add a plate on the inside of the hood, the metal is very thin. A long time ago I had a calendar that had some nice California style trucks in it, one of the pictures was a pre runner Nissan Hardbody and it had a light on each side I think in place of the mirrors, I guess as long as you have the inside rear view mirror you don't legally have to have the side mirrors so that could be doable. I have the picture still I'll dig it out tomorrow and see if I can scan it. so per your reply, "all trucks must have TURN SIGNALS placed below the headlights", again nothing to do with what was originally asked, if your reply has nothing to do with the original question, why not just not reply? Not trying to start a fight just stating the obvious. And as Nunya pointed out, some states require lights to be covered when on the road, other states could care less. The OP is from NY, close to where I am from, I was never given a hard time about my lights being uncovered while on the street, and I'm talking my large Hella Rally 2000's, granted I did get pulled over one time for having the rear facing one's on, but that was for turning them on for the idiot behind me who had his high beams on, and who also turned out to be a cop in an unmarked car !!! But even he didn't say a word about not having the lights covered. Most of the time the cops don't give people a hard time if you are being a good boy/girl, if your going to drive around flashing your lights at other cars for no reason than you will probably get pulled over.
