  1. I always use Mothers plastic polish on the clear plastic, makes it look like there is no plastic over the gauges, the cluster in my 87 hardbody was the same except I had that sub fuel level gauge.
  2. I just looked up the timing belt kit (belt, tensioner) on rockauto and they range from $26 to $73, on E-bay I found them for around $35 and it was a brand name I've never heard of before. My local auto parts store (advance) has the kit from $35 to $77. You can always find the discount code for rockauto online and I have had nothing but good customer service from them, the last order I placed for a buddy was missing a part and they sent a new one no questions asked, I think if you were going to order a part I would suggest rockauto over e-bay, unless you can't wait for a part and need it right now.
  3. After a fiasco with 2 rebuilt starters in a week I would highly recommend either getting one made by Beck arnley or a OEM one if you can. Lifetime warranties are fine but I would rather have one that lasts than have to take it back out to replace it under warranty.
  4. I have a few boomboxes, not the 30 or 40 the guys I know have, about 100 or so knives, no guns, and I have my ham radio license but no radios right now, just a few export CB's

  5. Was looking on the u pull and pay junkyard site (http://www.upullandpay.com/default.aspx) and found in ALBUQUERQUE there are 13 pathfinders from 1987 to 1994, in the Denver junkyard there are 10 from 90 to 97, Aurora 9 from 87 to 95, CINCINNATI 3 from 95 to 98, COLORADO SPRINGS 5 from 87 to 95, Orlando a 90 & 97, and lastly WEST PALM BEACH 5 from 90 to 2002 So get out there and get some parts!!
  6. the light was made by Carello, the grille was imported from Italy years ago
  7. don't think there is enough clearance for anything other than the allen head type, I just went to the junkyard and pulled a few extra bolts, as long as you have the right Metric allen key you shouldn't have any problems.
  8. on mine I had to cut the head off with a dremel, the bolt must have been stuck in the hub because after i took the hub off the rest of the bolt came out by hand.
  9. I have a guy that does really good work and is very inexpensive, before you go anywhere to have this done let me know and I will get a price from him for you. Just as a reference he swapped engines for me in my 94 PF and charged me $500
  10. And the pic was a big help, soon as I saw it I knew what it was,
  11. Thanks, I just need to find a replacement light for it
  12. the part in the pic looks like thermo element that controls the idle as the engine warms up. pic below: the part highlighted
  13. here's mine, Hardbody headlight swap, still have pathfinder corner lights, old aftermarket grille same as above with hardbody grille:
  14. My 94 PF temp gauge never goes above a 1/4 but today got stuck on the turnpike for over an hour in bumper to bumper traffic (due to road work or something), I would have expected the temp to go up a little higher than normal but it was actually lower than normal. I thought the sender may have been bad so a while back I replaced it with a used one out of the original engine but the gauge still was reading the same as with the sender I had in it. Do the gauges go bad or is this just as hot as these engines get? I just put a new fan clutch in about 2 months ago.
  15. I used to like driving in the snow when I lived in NY, always loved driving thru a pure white field and leaving muddy tracks everywhere!! I used to drive up and down this one road near my house looking for people that ran off road into the median, I would tow anyone out, never asked for money but wouldn't refuse "tips". One day I pulled a guy out in a suburban who had gotten cut off, he gave me $50!
  16. If the bar won't come out I hit it with a rubber mallet while pulling on it towards the rear
  17. Mobil 1 synthetic in all my Nissans, 10W30
  18. is that the same kit you bought with the AN fittings and you replaced them with the barb fittings? or does the same seller have the kits with barb fittings? I think I'll have a pair of hoses made up with the AN fittings as my adapter already has them on it. Looks very similar to this kit but a lot less expensive: http://raceroots.com/index.php/products/mazda/rx8/engine-and-accessories/oil-filter-relocation-kit.html
  19. I think the extra plugs on the filter adapter are there in case you wanted to plumb an oil cooler, but you could use them for what ever you wanted to. As I said on my 87 D21 I used all 2 5/8" Autometer Sport comp gauges with mechanical senders where applicable, (working in a 4x4 shop and getting parts at cost helped quite a bit in building my hardbody), I just realized I said you could mount a tranny temp gauge but what I meant to say was an oil pressure gauge, my trans temp gauge I used the autometer manifold in the tranny cooler line. As for the billet adapter, I don't care if it's billet or not I was just trying to find an a filter mount with the extra plugs, most of the Mr. Gasket,trans-dapt filter mounts only have an in and an out connection unless you used the dual filter mount like I have. I know the Fram PH8a is usually the standard filter people use with these remote kits, or the K&N,purolator, etc equivalent, but I remember Fram made an even bigger filter I think it held a whole quart (maybe 2) more of oil, I remember getting one for my buddy for his 86 Toyota 4x4 as the 22R had plenty of room for a longer filter and was the same thread as the PH8a, the other benefit of using the PH8a filters are they are always on sale and are usually cheaper than the 3682 filter, (pathetic that I remember the Nissan filter number!!) just found this, this may be the larger filter, not saying larger is better just sharing info: Part Number PH8A Product Type Full-Flow Lube Spin-on Anti-Drain Valve YES Gasket I.D. 2.42" Gasket O.D. 2.8" Gasket Thickness .2" Gasket Usage Base Product Height 5.14" Product I.D. 3/4-16 Th'd Product O.D. 3.8" Relief Valve Setting PSI 12 ph977a Anti-Drain Valve YES Gasket I.D. 2.42" Gasket O.D. 2.8" Gasket Thickness .2" Gasket Usage Base Product Height 6.91" Product I.D. 3/4-16 Th'd Product O.D. 3.78" Relief Valve Setting PSI 12
  20. there is a light in the cluster that tells you if OD is off
  21. don't know if it is the kit Jim used but I searched last night for about an hour before finding one that may be the one he used. I found one made by L&L, a company that makes products for Ford broncos, but as I said not sure if it is the same kit.
  22. This diagram was taken from the Autozone web site, it is for a 89 pathfinder:
  23. nice, is that one of those toilet flange adapters?
  24. Both rubbers on mine came from the same hardbody at the junkyard and the pass. side goes up fine, the drivers side goes up as you are saying, I tried adjusting the glass where it bolts to the regulator one time but it didn't help. I think the plastic guides that the window slides up and down on the regulator may just be worn out. Next time at the JY I will check out any I see to see if they have less play then the one's I have.
