  1. I don't think you understand how beef these pieces are.... everything is 1/4 plate. that coil bucket is going no where with 4, 9/16" bolts.
  2. Like i said, out of everyone else's builds i liked yours the best. I think the right tab will be fine like that... its not going anywhere. lol
  3. Okay, got the drivers side coil bucket all in.. Here is the panhard bar mount, had to cut it and shape it to fit the contour of the frame rail and around the motor mount frame bracket. I made a brace out of 1/4 plate.... over kill but i dont think i will ever have a problem of the shock tower or coil bucket ripping free. I plug welded it in 6 places and stitch welded around the plate to the frame. Coil bucket brackets welded in, i had to shape the right hand bracket because of motor mount frame bracket and contour of frame rail. Bucket installed.. This is how the back side looks like... passenger side starts tommorow.
  4. I plan on a cut and turn, right now i have the axle under the truck for pinion angle mock up. im going to weld in the coil buckets so i can figure out ride height. i'm thinking of pushing the axle forward some but i dunno.
  5. its a low-pinion axle... the pics are just in a bad angle.
  6. uhhh, you are kidding right? are you thinking that the links go in front of the axle forward?
  7. Nothing they are the same... i just decided to do a 3 link + panhard bar suspension in the front as opposed to leaf springs or triangulated 4 link.
  8. no, it needs bearings. the movement is caused by too much play in the bearings. you need a complete rebuild of the transmission.
  9. eh, those filters are no better than a good quality filter. pssh, snake oil, i tell you.
  10. I don't think they make a filter specifically made for synthetic oil. I would just get a wix filter and run good oil and change every 5000-6000 miles. I run dyno oil for that long with a cheapy filter and get good results.
  11. yea, its worth it for 600. but not 800 tho.
  12. Here is the drivers side frame rail all cleaned up from ifs brackets.... lotta work just to get to this point. coil bucket welded up pile-o-ifs brackets i started on the passengers side but its tough, i gave up for the night.
  13. have to prepare my 40 year old axle for mock up.... ahhh so pretty. time to strip out all that IFS crapola.. how the hell does this happen? OMG no more suspension! good riddance! ok, i also have cut out most of the driver side old ifs brackets... more pics and stuff to come.
  14. Welp, finally got started on this project. The plan is 3 link suspension, motivation from nissannut's 3 link build. 2 inch .250 wall dom for lower links with ballistic joints, 1.75 inch .25 wall dom for upper link with ballistic joint, 1.75 inch panhard bar with poly bushings both ends, 1.75 inch .25 wall steering, running early bronco front d44 with ox locker, 5.5 inch EB coils front and rear, rear arb or lockrite(depends if i can get my hands on a open carrier or not). Heres how it was before... parts...
  15. the manual has a pilot bearing or bishing in the end of the crankshaft. the automatic will have a tc centering insert in the end of the crankshaft... simple swap.
  16. we need a lift sticky in this section... there is like 10 lift questions every week.
  17. put it in fist gear low lock and it will put a hell of alot of torque down.

    300z ECU

yea... didn't your read my post?
  19. maxima never had the vg30de, that was only z32 300zx's..... maxima's either got a vg30e or vq30de. the vq engines have no similarities to the vg engines.

    300z ECU

negative mah sir..... its only a dohc engine if it came with a vg30de or vg30dett. the 84-89 z31 all came with vg30e's or et's.
  21. yep, sounds like the master cylinder took a dump. new ones are cheap or just rebuild yours. easy as pie.
  22. your neighbor probably has sas'ed his rig and used chevy springs. maybe he even went to a leaf rear. i dunno.
  23. its either on the left or right toward the bottom of the trans, im betting you have a leaky master cylinder if you dont see visible leaks under the boot on the slave. crawl under the dash and look.
  24. this thread makes me dumber. what a waste of intranetz space.
  25. no more than a few amps at most.
