no, gl-5 contains sulfur, a lubrication additive. Our syncro's are made with brass and/or bronze, sulfur corrodes and eats away at bronze.

aint no throwout bearing noise, that only makes noise when the pedal is depressed. i would say that the counter shaft bearing is shot, drain the fluid and refill with 5 qts.

sounds like the thorleys are warped all to hell, put a straight edge up the the flange and see if they are warped.

pull the hose off of the booster and plug it, see if that helps. if it does than the diaphram on the booster is busted.

the starter solenoid is known to go on these cars because the damn oil filter unloads right on it, also the starter relay is a known culprit.

@!*%, i have welded with my battery more than a few times, a couple 7018 sticks and a set of jumpercables work well.

if i was to go with a i-6 i would go with a 6bt. same motor as my dodge, man that would be awesome. the only problem is that the motor weighs 1800 pounds. lol

alright man, if you shot some carb cleaner in the intake and it started that means the ign system is probably working. you are looking at a fuel problem. no injector dwell/not enough fuel pressure. hook a dwell light or a small lamp up to one of the injector plugs to test injecotr dwell or listen to an injector with a stethescope. if thats fine test your fuel pressure. throwing money at it is for ghey dudes. stay away from that crap.

shoot some carb cleaner in the intake just to make sure your not getting fuel.
