I did custom 4 link in the rear and used 5.5 inch deavers.
-
Thats a good alternative to gl4.
-
Less than that, my shop is in vallejo, right on hwy 29.

LOL, just realized that some guys have posted in this thread. The front suspension geometry works like a charm, the rear geometry sucks something serious, im going to move the uppers so i have a single triangulated 4 link and get rid of the panhard. Here is how my steering and panhard angles look like in the front. I'll take some pics of how i killed the steering on a rock that didn't agree with me. haha

Wd21 Pathfinder Panhard Drop Bracket

For the budget minded individual. haha... it has held up to crawling on 35's with stock t/c gears, 5 speed, and 4.88 gears. -
Too bad you are not closer to our shop, i would take a look at the trans and see if its something that still can be salvaged without a full tear down. Funny thing is that i just finished fixing a trans in a 88 300zx that was having similar problems.
-
Just because it has an internal problem doesn't mean you have to get a whole new trans.
-
Same difference, one is just as ****** as the other, one has crappier planetaries and smaller bands plus one less friction clutch and iron... It really sounds like a front band issue, not a solenoid problem now. I don't think putting on a trans cooler is going to fix the problem.
-
So, you have no manual 2nd and it doesn't actually shift into 2nd from 1st? Just free rev's where 2nd should be? Sounds like a broken/burnt up front band and or front servo/apply piston failure. It could also be the front band strut has fallen out or broken. Only way to inspect the front band is to take the valve body off. I'll take a look at a spare e4n71b and e4r01a i have at work, could be a solenoid issue if you are lucky.
-
Awesome, i was planning to do the same. I have to fix the rear geometry of mine because i get too much rear steer and all kinds of crap =/
-
Actually the shim is there for prevention of wear on the caliper. If they are glued/riveted to the pad then leave them, if they are separate, leave them off and use some good copper brake lube/anti seize in place of the shim.

With 35's i'd run 4.88's with a v6 38's i would run 5.13's.

Fawsome! More beefy than mine!

I sure as hell hope you did not install your O2 sensor after the cat convertor..... that would cause the ecu to run the engine wayyyy too rich. -
Looks fine to me! Awesome work!
-
The red circled thing is your torsion bar and is what holds the truck off the ground. It is not attached because the back is hanging down....
-
Drops are the left over pieces that were sheared or cut off hence 'drop'. They are sold by the pound instead of dimension because they are not a full piece typically 20-24 feet in length.
-
I just bought 550 pounds of drops from a metal place for about 40 cents a pound. I got 2x2, 2x3, 2x4 tubing, DOM tubing, 3/16th, 1/4, 1/2 inch plate. you just have to find a metal supply/fabrication shop and ask if they sell their drops.
-
yea dude, i bet your torsion bar anchor/adjuster broke. shock has nothing to do with ride height. Plus i can see your damn t-bar hanging down to the ground in this pic .
-
oh brother... what a wealth of useless info. The brake booster works off of the vaccum in the intake manifold, if the booster has a leak it will cause the engine to miss and run lean because it is sucking air in from the leak in the booster thus bypassing the maf sensor and throttle body.
-
You are kidding, right?
-
I have a hand throttle and set the rpm's at about 2700 and burn the clutch in 4 low, sometimes when im doing some serious rocks and such and i dont want to kill the engine i get the magic blue smoke rolling out of the bellhousing. Nothing wrong with using the clutch the way it was designed for.
