  1. I drive 40 miles to work and 40 miles back....all freeway, in the hills and mountains of SoCal and I get 14.9 - 15.4 every tank. I'm a lead foot who hasn't figured out that my 97 isn't going to hold 90 on a 15% up grade for 2 miles....But I try anyway....leaving the tach at 5,000 for almost 1/2 the drive.....This truck has been great! Oh BTW thats with a 2" AC lift and 31" BFG AT's and No rear bumper....less wind resistance!
  2. $2.58 at the local AM/PM which is usually the cheapest.BTW i live in Murrieta California (70 miles North east of San Diego and 100 South east of LA)
  3. Let us know how it goes..... I would love to do one...how about parts off a 300Z!? can any of those be modified to fit...I don't think it can be done here in Cali without the product being C.A.R.B approved or you can't register the car...but then again, how often does the DMV actually look at the car...and as long as the original smog equip is still on the car the smog check stations shouldn't care.
  4. I did the lowers with the (ashamed to say) AC poly ones (Blue) They work great! I purchased all eight, but I only did the lowers for now....maybe this summer i'll do the uppers...
  5. I've put 45,000 miles on my BFG AT KO's, probably have 10,000 left on them.....I rotated them every oil change and made sure to get an alignment checked about every third or fourth off road adventure....These tires kick booty! I really want mudders but i do too much on road driving......probably another set of AT's....32's this time! BTW the Pathy looks great.......still working on my strut spacers....2 months now...i'm lazy
  6. I don't have the 6 disk changer, but i've been having problems with my Bose in dash cd player in my 97.....skips alot and when it gets hot here in SoCal it ejects the cd's...I think its time to rip out the head unit, speakers and amp and replace the whole thing....its done well for 8 years of severe abuse and YES I off road with all my windows down, cd blarring(sp?) I heard it scares the coyotes and mountain lions away! sssh
  7. Your window gasket could be worn out...or like MZEXTREME said, it could be the hinges or the latch.....I'd check the gasket first..
  8. Nice looking Pathy.....I'm glad someone tried some 32's.....my 31's are getting worn so I might just go right for the 33's with new rims....I have the AC 2" (Really 3") also, but i got the Bilstein rear shocks, 4 springs, and KYB's up front......
  9. I cut off the end of the bolt (Nut side) then drilled out the bolt inside the nut with a medium bit then moved to larger bit (slightly bigger than the inside of the nut) It took about 5 minutes per bolt...it was also a P.I.A being under the truck at wierd angle trying to get leverage on the drill.....Wait till you do the uppers!!!!! I thought the angles I had to contort myself into were bad with the lowers!!!....
  10. Definitely use the exact metric replacements....standard or US sizes don't fit...too much play....I got some metric grade 8 bolts from Ababa bolt...it's a local fastener supplier open to the public here in So Cal...all 8 bolts, washers, lock washer, and nuts cost less then $40....Home Depot or other place might have them in stock....
  11. Whats the backspacing on those rims....almost looks like you could squeeze some 33's with some trimming
  12. I did the bushings myself on my 97....check my site for some photos....if you have any questions just ask..... 97 Rear Bushing Install
  13. My two cents....Go with some Bilstein shocks...stick with 8" wide rims and definitely go with 33's......If you go with an exhaust...you gotta go with an intake...either Jim Wolf or a K&N....then go with a full tune up/service......All this talk makes me want to Refinance my house....HHHHMMMMM sssh
  14. Sweet..now I wish I had a tire rack on my 97!!
  15. AFI right now...and anything from Metallica...but since I got Sirius Satellite radio its on Octane 20
  16. go with the amber/mirror.....like my 97 has....I still want it darker
  17. Mines a 1997 Rear Hatch Cylinders are shot Rear Suspension busings are gone Drivers door platic cargo holder broke off Possible Cam Bearing Shot...High pitch squeal at idle...goes away when RPM go up That's IT! Not too bad
  18. Sorry "Findmypath" we're not usually this goofy...Oh wait .....Yes we are! I hope JJ Big Shoe answered your question! Keith
  19. Big J, you're right! Anything over stock will put the CV joints at a high angle. I was thinking today at work while I drilled the spacer bolt holes, that 3/4" probably won't make a difference! And anything more than stock would tear up the CV Joint.....And DJ I remember reading the post on that guys install ,but I never heard anything about it again. I think it's time to leave the front alone, except for an alignment and wait for the L&P lift....hopefully before Christmas 2005!!! I work with three guys who all used to be involved with some sort of professional racing, and all three want to re-engineer my front suspension for coil overs and maybe some long travel control arms.....All at my expense of course. Well no offense to Pathfinders, but I don't really think the time, energy and massive R&D are worth it (Not when I have to foot the bill) Don't get me wrong...I would love to have the time, money, and another car as my daily driver to be able to give the Pathy to thses guys, then I could market and sell the suspension for them.....they build it...I'll sell it! Anyway...thanks all.....I digress back under my Pathys frustating rear end to cut the trailing arm bolts... Talk to ya later Keith
  20. The 2" lift from AC gave me almost 3" of lift front and back. My front is still sitting lower, but I should be finishing up my strut spacers today and I should have them installed by the weekend. I am starting with 3/4 spacers and if all is ok, i'll make some inch and a half.
  21. The reason they laughed was because they automatically cut the bolts off..They don't come off any other way! I've tried to remove the bolts for 4 days to no avail! I brought it to 3 Mechanics and they couldn't get them off either. I finally broke down and went to two local dealerships, after getting through the sales reps, i finally talked to several mechanics who said they won't even attempt it since 9 times out of 10 they won't come off. They cut them almost everytime! Now I have to resort to the same thing... I bought the 4 packages of bushings at Automotive Customizers. The part number is SPPE99R45068 and they are $32.50 each pair, and you need 4 packages total. I will do a write up with photos when I finaly get them done.
  22. I haven't tried to heat them yet...(My torch ran out) but i might try to heat one of them on Saturday (Tomorrow is Paintball) If heat doesn't work, then its off with their heads! And Bernard....Thanks for looking out for me but I always wear my safety glasses..I am a Maintenance Tech at a manufacturing plant so we can't even walk in the front door without the glasses on and earplugs in. This really sucks, i was supposed to be done with these on Tuesday...i will only have two days vacation left after this and i am moving into my new house before Christmas.... Thanks everyone...i'll keep you posted
  23. I bought the AC bushings, but have yet to get any of the bolts off!!!!! AC told me the upper and lower bushings were the same? So i ordered what they told me..I know, i'm and idiot....but it would really be nice if I could GET THE BOLTS OFF to verify the bushing sizes.
