  1. Here they are.....Very little rubbing on the fron inner wheelwell. the area getting rubbed is like smaller than a quarter...i'll take care of that today!
  2. I think all strut bearings are made of plastic... Delrin or something...it self lubricates and can stand very high pressures....
  3. Hey Gorilla Man is that a Garvin Roof Rack? BTW....Nice looking Pathy! Sorry Tmorgan4, no pictures yet except on my site,Pathy Pictures I'm ordering the rims today and the install will be Saturday...i'll take some befores and afters.
  4. Usually the "clunking" is from worn out or broken Strut Bearings or loose strut mounting nuts (located under the hood,"bonnet" for y'all down under)
  5. I tried to take off my flares on my 1997 but they're drilled through!!! I don't know about the 2002 model.
  6. Here in Cali I use AM/PM Arco 87....I have used Mobile on several occasions and I do see 3-4 MPG better with the Mobile, but with the price difference between Arco and Mobile being 10-12 cents I can't see using Mobile.....
  7. That's why i've toasted two sets of front pads and my rears haven't changed in 7-months i've had the lift (7,000 miles in 7 months)! Now I have a Memorial Day Project! Not including the 300 other projects!
  8. Just got back from my friends at Discount/Americas Tire....0mm Offset (in the particular brand of rim i'm getting...generic forged aluminum) is close to a 4" backspace which will allow a set of 32x11.5x15 BFG AT KO's to clear the strut spring perch. Total out the door with roadside hazard repair and free unlimited rotations is $965.00. Not too bad since the same rims with a set of Dunlop Radial Mud Rovers was $895 out the door....I drive 45 miles each way to work with my Pathy, can't have the Mudders! I'm thinking of keeping my stock rims and finding a cheap set of 31x10.5x15 mudders to go off roading with. Pictures will follow
  9. I'm ready to install some 32" tires and some new rims, but i'm curious if anyone has done this to an R50? What backspacing did you use? From my reading and calculations, i'm thinking 3.75" backspacing should clear the strut spring perch, but i'm not sure about clearance around the wheel well! Any help would be great
  10. The alignment is a definite! I bought the K-Mac camber adjusting kit and it worked great. I still need to bring it in for some fine tuning.....and the rear Diff tube thing sssh I keep forgetting to replace mine...it did come off once while off roading.....Now it's time for some new rims and 32's
  11. The snorkle looks good, and I agree the plastic electrical box thingy looks better than the metal. I realy like the rubber edge gasket you put on the fender it cleans it up nice! I would probably turn the intake part towards the back of the truck for a different look, but hey it looks good. Now if I would only grow some nuggets and do mine.....Out here in SoCal it's less for water and more for fine sand and dust, so i'm gonna put some sort of prefilter material just inside the intake...we'll see.
  12. If we go up through the "Bonnet" ...P.S. its called a "HOOD" here in the real world, we would have the problem of water coming over the "HOOD" and into the snorkle! And in case you haven't got the idea, the Pathy owners here are'nt into 22" Dubs or any of that crap, were into making the Pathy an off road force to be recond with!
  13. I drive 40 miles to work and 40 miles back....all freeway, in the hills and mountains of SoCal and I get 14.9 - 15.4 every tank. I'm a lead foot who hasn't figured out that my 97 isn't going to hold 90 on a 15% up grade for 2 miles....But I try anyway....leaving the tach at 5,000 for almost 1/2 the drive.....This truck has been great! Oh BTW thats with a 2" AC lift and 31" BFG AT's and No rear bumper....less wind resistance!
  14. $2.58 at the local AM/PM which is usually the cheapest.BTW i live in Murrieta California (70 miles North east of San Diego and 100 South east of LA)
  15. Let us know how it goes..... I would love to do one...how about parts off a 300Z!? can any of those be modified to fit...I don't think it can be done here in Cali without the product being C.A.R.B approved or you can't register the car...but then again, how often does the DMV actually look at the car...and as long as the original smog equip is still on the car the smog check stations shouldn't care.
  16. I did the lowers with the (ashamed to say) AC poly ones (Blue) They work great! I purchased all eight, but I only did the lowers for now....maybe this summer i'll do the uppers...
  17. I've put 45,000 miles on my BFG AT KO's, probably have 10,000 left on them.....I rotated them every oil change and made sure to get an alignment checked about every third or fourth off road adventure....These tires kick booty! I really want mudders but i do too much on road driving......probably another set of AT's....32's this time! BTW the Pathy looks great.......still working on my strut spacers....2 months now...i'm lazy
  18. I don't have the 6 disk changer, but i've been having problems with my Bose in dash cd player in my 97.....skips alot and when it gets hot here in SoCal it ejects the cd's...I think its time to rip out the head unit, speakers and amp and replace the whole thing....its done well for 8 years of severe abuse and YES I off road with all my windows down, cd blarring(sp?) I heard it scares the coyotes and mountain lions away! sssh
  19. Your window gasket could be worn out...or like MZEXTREME said, it could be the hinges or the latch.....I'd check the gasket first..
  20. Nice looking Pathy.....I'm glad someone tried some 32's.....my 31's are getting worn so I might just go right for the 33's with new rims....I have the AC 2" (Really 3") also, but i got the Bilstein rear shocks, 4 springs, and KYB's up front......
  21. I cut off the end of the bolt (Nut side) then drilled out the bolt inside the nut with a medium bit then moved to larger bit (slightly bigger than the inside of the nut) It took about 5 minutes per bolt...it was also a P.I.A being under the truck at wierd angle trying to get leverage on the drill.....Wait till you do the uppers!!!!! I thought the angles I had to contort myself into were bad with the lowers!!!....
  22. Definitely use the exact metric replacements....standard or US sizes don't fit...too much play....I got some metric grade 8 bolts from Ababa bolt...it's a local fastener supplier open to the public here in So Cal...all 8 bolts, washers, lock washer, and nuts cost less then $40....Home Depot or other place might have them in stock....
  23. Whats the backspacing on those rims....almost looks like you could squeeze some 33's with some trimming
  24. I did the bushings myself on my 97....check my site for some photos....if you have any questions just ask..... 97 Rear Bushing Install
