I decided to pull apart my intake tube to check the MAF sensor for damage or dirt....so I decided to remove the whole tube from the Throttle body and all I saw inside was black! It looked really dark and crusty.....I seriously want to pull it and clean it I know 88 had his polished, besides replacing the gasket how hard can it be????

We have them here in SoCal a lot....I tried one ONCE! Much bigger than it looked and really soft too. Buried the Pathy up to the tops of the wheel openings....

POR 15 will definitley stop any existing rust from occuring, I did some on the front half ofthe frame on my 1970 Chevelle and it worked and looked great. I used to get most of my body work stuff from Eastwood....free catalog and decent prices EASTWOOD

Definitely check the fan, and if you replace it, you might consider an electric instead of the HP robbing clutch style. Also check the idler/tensioners for a bad bearing...a bad bearing could cause excessive drag on all the items connected with that belt....You can check the bearing by removing the belt and trying to spin the item by hand. Also check them by trying to move the item up, down, side to side for excessive wear.

88 hit it on the nose along with....Lots of time, $$$$ and frustrations. Remember your truck is a unibody and with too much HP you'll twist that thing so bad you'll never open a door again.....if you can find a way to keep an axle under it. You might want to rule out too much HP and keep it mild. I say go for it.....lots of friends, call in all favors and who knows..... I've thought about it too....when I still had my Chevelle I wondered many an afternoon, what it would take to squeeze my 307 into the Pathy.

I have a 97 SE and I have and indicator on the dash...not sure where, but I see it all the time while i'm out wheeling. I have front ABS only, the proprtioning is controlled by some rear end height tension spring thingy. I'll find the topic.

I get 14-15 driving 40 miles through the hills of SoCal each way with 32's and a 2" lift! OUCH! Doesn't help that I drive like 80-90 MPH! Probably get 15-16 if I drove normal.

That's very intersting! I gotta read the test data more closely, but it seems those so called crappy filters I buy at Wal-Mart every other month, might not be so bad after all. The guy is correct at the end, more airflow "IN" will not always produce more horsepower or torque. Unless you utilize that additional flow of air by tuning it up with new ignition components, and a new free flowing exhaust (with Headers). My idea is to keep the stock box with the usual crappy filters, but grab the incomming air from the front grill, hopefully in front of the radiator...one of my many projects that'll probably never get done!

Rivets???!!!! Where? I didn't see anything resembling rivets anywhere around my upper strut mount....I have a double thick sheet metal spot welded together....That's how mine is put together.

Yesterday on my way to work in Vista California, I saw a Blue older model Pathfinder, and I swear it had an NPORA sticker on the passenger side. Was this anyone here? I didn't think anyone lived by me!
