  2. Now that you did it and it worked out OK....I think i'll try it now. Did you get the correct bushings from AC? What were they called (terminology)?

    Cheap upgrade

True "Performance Chips" from a trusted seller for your specific car are around $200-$400. Besides the advertisment says "1997-2004" Aren't the 2001-2004 engines completely different from the 1997-2000?
  7. That's cool.....I want one!!!! We'll probably be bidding against each other on E-Bay in the coming months for these things.
  8. I'm the same, I fugure, while it's apart what else can I do. Which snowballs and turns an hour project into 3. I think I'll change theball joints too...78,000 with 300 miles of off road time. Thanks 88
  9. Does LP Performance have a web site?
  10. WOW! Thanks for the photos! I think I will takle the job. It looks pretty in depth, but I think it will be a good experience. Thanks for the photos. P.S. About how long did it take you?
  11. Has anyone ever replaced the CV Joint Boot or the joint itself before? Mine are starting to leak through cracks in both the lower boots. Can the boots be replaced and the joint be regreased?
  12. Nice plate. Looks clean and well done. I am almost done with the skid plate I made for my 97. A few side pieces welded on, ploishing and paint. While not as pretty as the blue one, it serves the same purpose. I do like that blue color, though!
  13. On my 97, it is located above the rear differential mounted to what seems to be the floor pan for the back seat. If you look at the center of the photo you can see the gold color filter. The picture was taken looking towards the front of the truck.
  14. I think they came from the factory with a 1" higher rear end.
  15. I need to add.... I was really pissed off and angry at the begining, but after seeing the confused look on the mans face while the officer questioned him made me feel sorry for him. God willing none of us fall victim to Alzheimers, I can't imagine what it must be like. This is sad.....I am replying to my own post.
  16. I got rear ended last week by a gentleman who could'nt seem to give me his information. He kept asking me what it will take and repeating some 12 digit number....He wasn't refusing to give me the info, he just kept asking me what I needed, or what it would take, and I would tell him over and over that I needed his name and address, he would follow that by going back to his truck for 5 minutes trying to write something down or completely tearing the inside of his truck apart........ By now I'm getting pissed! We pulled over after the accident around 3:55PM and it was now 4:10pm and I only had his first name.....GGRRRRRRRR! I finally starting getting kinda nervous with him tearing the inside of his truck apart while he mumbled something over and over....After a frustating hour of trying to get him to give me his information I called the police...In California the local police can't get involved in a non injury accident so th eofficer handed each of us a paper to put our information on (insurance policy number, license number, name etc...) and he explained that once the papers were ccompleted and all information confirmed by the office, he would then give each of us the other persons paper...Sounds Simple doesn't it!!!! NOT!!!! After the office observed another 15 minutes of the guy mumbling and not being able to remember what he asked you or what your answer was....the officer asked him to have a seat in the back of the police car. I waited 15 minutes for the officer to question the man before the officer came over to me.....He was very nice and sypathetic, except since the office was detaining the gentleman because he thought the man might be missing from an Alzheimers hospital Florida...yes Florida! The office proceeded to tell that because the man couldn't answer on his own behalf and he was being detained, I couldn't get any of the information the man gave the officer....ARRRRRGGGGG! So I was given an event number by the officer and to top it off the officer said he would give me a copy of the final police report so I could give it to my insurance company...EXCEPT! The officer was going on vacation for two weeks, and no one except the reporting officer can release a copy of a report!!!!! Luckily my insurance company AAA (Automobile Club of SoCal) is awesome and agreed to repair my car immediately and waive my $250 deductable. That's my story.....What's yours! Keith :type: :furious:
  17. I have a 97 auto with 71,000 and have never had it make any noise. Except when stupid me had it in Drive when I shifted into LO -thnkboutit-

    shocking!

Hey 88, do you recommend leaving the boots off on all Year Pathy's. I just put a pair of Bilstein's on my 97, and I left the boots on.
  19. Always ready to help in any way we can
  20. Dean has a 97 with air bags in the back I think? Check out his site Dean's Web Site He has done a ton of cool upgrades and is really helpful. good luck
  21. I stopped the wobble with new struts, shocks, and coils all around. I installed the AC 3" kit with the bilstein shocks and GR2 struts up front
  22. I have a set of 31x10.5x15 on my 97 stock rims. The problem area is in the front...any taller tire would rub the underside of the struts lower srping perch. Right now I am about 1" away from rubbing it with my 31's. In order for me to go to a 32 or even a 33 I will have to get different rims with less backspacing which would move the whole tire out and away from the vehical. The Tire Rack has a really great Tech area that explains just about everything you ever wanted to know about tires and wheels Tire Rack Tech Center
  23. I never realized what the tool was for!!!! I used what 88 said to use...several 3/8 6" extensions and a universal joint between the two extensions....It was a real pain in the @%& but it worked. :furious:
  24. I had a bad shake in the front of my 97 along with a really BAD! rear wobble at highway speeds....New struts, rear shocks and coils all around solved the problem. I went ahead and installed AC's 3" kit and all my shakes and wobbles are gone....even though I haven't had an alignment or tire balancing done since the install sssh
  25. I changed all the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and air filter without disconnecting the battery or having the CHECK ENGINE light coming on. I would check all the hoses and wires and make sure they are all connected and not leaking. I also agree with DJ that the TB (Throttle Body) could be leaking and causing a bad sensor reading on an O2 sensor or the MAS. Keith
