You can get a new pickup tube from Nissan. I don't imagine it would be too expensive. You can always get a JY part, but I'm sure you now see the labour involved to pull the oil pan. Unless you find a 2wd model.

Looks like some sort of oil pan drain plug "repair" BS to me.

Partsource sells a TB kit for a decent price, with good quality parts. I got one for my xterra for about 200 dollars. It came with the belt, water pump, tensioner pulley, cam and crank seals, and the water pump gasket (some cheap pumps don't). It was a contitech kit.

You can unbolt it and lay it near the air filter housing. I did this on mine. The lines are rubber, you won't break them. Don't waste the time/money discharging it.

Just rip that outer muffler shell off, it doesn't do anything, mine has been missing for years. Also, it probably just has a ****** battery or you don't drive it enough for it to stay charged. That is what happens to vehicles that sit. I would keep it, but I love these trucks. Change the timing belt and water pump, and it will probably outlast you! PS it is way more fun than a boring rav4 You can also adjust the steering stops to fix the turning radius.

I don't drive mine in the winter for this reason... Do a body lift, makes all sorts of repairs easier

It is spot welded on, pretty sure you can see them from the other side. might have to move the rad support out of the way.

What do you mean front pump? If you're talking about the torque converter no you cannot interchange them.

Considering the noise you say it made, and the oil light, I'm going to guess the oil pressure will be at or near 0...Could be a clogged pickup tube, don't run it too much like that, a lot of damage can occur in a short period of time.

Welcome. I can see from that picture that the frame has been plated over. Make sure you check it out well for rust.

Looks like your rear main seal is leaking as well.

One thing I would like to add is to make sure you always verify with a voltmeter at the battery. Don't rely on the dash gauge, as it may not always be accurate.

There should be 40 teeth between the two camshaft marks, and 43 teeth between the drivers side camshaft mark, and the crank mark. All of these being on the pulleys. I would strongly suggest not reusing a belt. A new one will be safer, and the marks will be there to help you. And for what it's worth, I found this way easier than any VW I have worked on, which is my friend's mk2 jetta (8v) and my 2004 golf.

That or the radiator is farked.

I'm sure it will be fine. You're only doing it once, they're fairly large bolts that go into the block.

Why not, there is a video on here of a guy starting a diesel terrano like that, doesn't seem to rock much at all. I assume you just want to hear it run? I have seen people start motors (Briefly) on wood pallets before!

Never took mine apart, but I did end up changing some of them money was tight at the time so I only changed the bad ones. Never had another issue with it. My friend still has the truck on his farm and it has over 300,000 miles on it. I would just replace them, it is not really worth the time or probable pain in the arse factor to clean them. There is probably wear that cannot be fixed by cleaning. FWIW the rocker shafts on mine were fine, it was just 2 or 3 lifters IIRC.
