  1. What about your o2 sensor? Mine didn't throw a code but it sure as hell made my mileage crappy.
  2. Great write up. I just did my bearings this weekend and experienced some trouble with the aftermarket inner grease seal. It doesn't have the part that stops it from going in further so I just tapped it in all the way as far as it could go and it was like 1mm into the hub. It seems to be OK. It was from National. Also for anyone who wants the bearing locknut tool you can get it for a great price from here. No need to spend more on a gm one and modify it. http://www.autopart.com/TOOLS/TOOLSMAIN/tool/T_4170.htm
  3. Mine sometimes doesn't open. For me the lock just won't unlock all the way but it looks unlocked. Have you tried manually pushing the lock down and then pulling it up?
  4. I think the r50 rides better lifted than it does stock FWIW.
  5. I have a bit of pivot room in it, I saw it when they did the job. Are you tightening them too tight?
  6. I installed new ones and 1.5 years later they also had noticeable wear. This time I had someone close in the holes and clean them up with a die grinder, then new rods, bushings and sleeves were installed and I haven't had a problem so far but I've only put 2k miles on them and haven't wheeled much.
  7. The stock headlights with relays are fine. I had those clear lights and I loved them for the first bit but as soon as winter hit one of them got moisture inside somehow and by spring time the salt had already damaged the surface. Plus one of them keeps bouncing around as the mounts are crap.
  8. I would get the Xterra over the r50 (of the year range you specified) just because of the motor. The 3.3 (just like the 3.0 in the old pathys) is a proven motor and I would trust my high mileage VG motor to take me into the middle of nowhere over a VQ just because it has been proven a workhorse. The r50 steering is actually pretty strong I've never hear of anyone ruining the steering rack, at least on this board. The only weak part IMO is the unibody. But I have heard that adding skids adds to the rigidity If you do get an xterra first things I would do is beef up the steering(aftermarket CL, heavy duty tie rod adjusters), get some skid plates and some good tires. They are both great trucks but I lean more towards the xterra because of the motor and body of frame. Also don't get a supercharged one as I have heard they are problematic.
  9. Your best bet would be to download the FSM for your year. It has all the diagrams you'll need. http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/pathfinder/ HTH
  10. The ground is screwed to the body and its right ther when you take the kickpanel off.
  11. How low? The newer dash pathys seem to run at 1/3 or 1/4 of the way up instead of 1/2 like the older ones (like tungstens 91)
  12. I would say too big. Mine were a little bigger than that and there was considerable movement even with new bushings.
  13. http://www.kenmtnac.com/WinPat9699.html Scroll to the bottom
  14. I paid 45 dollars for a nissan belt over the 30 something the part store wanted for an aftermarket. Was a no brainer for me. I spent around 270 dollars for a tbelt, waterpump and tensioner from the dealer. Everything went together perfectly and that will be 3 years ago next summer.
  15. X2. I didn't relocate the rad either but I did take the rad hoses off so that wouldn't happen.
  16. Sounds like torque converter is a possibility. Other than that I don't know the transmission well enough. Just from reading on here it has been the TC when those symptoms appear.
  17. I have a frameless one for the rear. Kind of a waste of money because I never use it.
  18. Then just wire it into the defrost system? Not hard.
  19. Mine says 26 in the placecard too. The tires I have say to use the manufactures placecard...I run them at 30 but in the winter I'll drop it down to 26 because I get better traction.
  20. Try some thicker oil first. like 15w40 or 20w50.
  21. Tye you can get a cheap code scanner from princess auto. That's where I got mine. Or find an mom n pop type garage they might do it for free.
  22. Yeah but the tire would rub on big dips. The rears leveled out after the other tbar was put up.
  23. I didn't think mine looked too awkward with the 235s. Sure they were small tires but the stock height looked fine... Keep in mind my passenger side tbar was messed up back then.
  24. I wanted to add a sunroof to mine but the guy at a place that installs them here said he couldn't because there were supports in the way and he can't touch those.
