  1. An 8" wide wheel is actually 9" wide when it comes to backspacing. 4" backspacing on a 15x8 wheel gives a -12.5mm offset. It's usually stated -12 or -13. Centered would be 4.5" BS on a 15x8. Confusing @!*%e.
  2. I believe that the 87-95 H233 LSD units were in the 260-280 lb range. Each iteration after that had progressively weaker breakaway torque until it got all the way down below 100 lbs in the later Frontiers. That turned out to be practically useless. I have lifted a rear wheel with both the good LSD and a Lock-Right and even though the LSD is practically locked, the mechanical locker was much better. I could have avoided some body damage if I had just gone with the locker in the first place. PS. - B, I have a home for your Lock-Right if you have finally given up on it
  3. The "core" of the LSD diff is smaller in diameter than the open diff. I think that Richmond made the right decision to use the open diff for the locker. The LSD diff would have a much smaller locking engagement surface.
  4. I didn't really look into how the 4.3 changed over the years, but the one I had a problem with was a '96 with OBDII. It was a GMC S-15 Sonoma. The problem started out innocently enough, the cat got clogged on a long road trip so I had a shop hollow it out and all was good. Eventually the truck started having more and more problems with stalling/warm starts. There was always a strong fuel smell, but I attributed that to the missing cat. I finally determined that the CPI crap was leaking. Good news though. Since then, a number of companies have released a MFI conversion and RockAuto has it for $140. You will also need to buy the adapter bracket for $20 and then all the related gaskets. You should be able to rebuild it for under $200. Of course it would be a good idea to check the fuel pressure first.
  5. That sounds like the CPI/spider issue. If she wants to keep the truck it's worth the rebuild. You will probably want to check the cat since it's probably been dumping fuel. The cat will likely be clogged or melted.
  6. A lot of nice shots this month. I'm glad I scrolled all the way down to TrailChaser's rig before making a decision. A beautiful shot of a well executed build. She looks like she needs some scrapes though
  7. Welcome! As you know, it's crazy hot in the valley until October so wheeling around here is generally out of the question. There are a few good playgrounds around town with everything from mild trail runs to extreme crawling. This time of year I like to head up north for some camping.
  8. Replaced the window motor on the driver window. The motor was actually working fine, but the rubber damper that couples the gear to the drive shaft was destroyed. Luckily I had a spare rear door to pull the motor from. I also used the opportunity to replace the speaker in that door. I replaced the other side over a year ago, but never got around to the driver side. FYI - the motor from the rear driver door has the correct mounting and connector, but the polarity is reversed.
  9. It has a v8 and links in the back. It was obviously built to simulate off-roading. It doesn't even need the RTI ramp.
  10. 90-97 D21s, 89-90 S13s and 90-92 U12s (Stanza) had the MPFI KA24E.
  11. Harbor freight sells the lug nut removers that Nunya linked to. They have worked well for me too. I bought them specifically for this purpose.
  12. To completely remomve the shaft you will need to remove the bolt from the clamp at the steering box and remove two bolts from the rag joint (by the firewall) to separate it. Slide the steering shaft off of the input shaft on the steering box and that's it.
  13. Pigeon Toe gets my vote. I stopped worrying about themed shots after getting hosed in the sunset competition.
  14. Idiot. You can also find your key code on a sticker in the glove box. That is if your glove box is the original.

If the answer is 50*, that would make y 33* and z 113*. I still don't see how you could arrive at that answer with the information given.

With the information given, the answer is a function and not a single number. What answer was given?
  17. That is just a beautiful and inspiring piece of work. Very nicely done.
  18. Good policy. Nice pic anyway. You got my vote. My new water crossing pics weren't ready in time for my own submission.
  19. When I get off my arse and make those panhard drop brackets I can send you however many you need. My schedule for fab work has been tight lately.
  20. I went to the Nissan parts counter today and picked up a pair of torsion bar adjusting bolts for $6.50/each. I think you could use them for any height body lift from 1-3". There is enough thread to cut them down to size. Now I can finally go install my $100 body lift.
