  1. Did it work correctly before? Maybe you did not hook something up the right way? If you change to high beam what happens?
  2. they're $15 each if you know where to get them another possibility is doing a sealed beam conversion with the hardbody grill but that will require a bit more effort and you have to see for yourself if you like the way it looks you can still keep the projectors but i would put them below the bumper or into the bumper somewhere and that way you don't have ridiculous headlights and still have the option to use projectors since you have the ballasts and stuff
  3. ^ this is exactly what I warned people about before, them not being reliable if you want a decent setup on the budget, try some PIAA XtremeWhite bulbs relayed to the battery with Nissan relays i did that setup and it works amazing at night
  4. ok let me elaborate why i think it looks bad even though it works good 1. the head lights stick out past the grill (that was already covered) 2. the reflectors inside are now useless, might look better blacked out 3. the housings are cheap clear plastic and are prone to yellowing 4. that bug shield on the hood just makes it even more ugly
  5. i think it looks stupid the way it is right now
  6. Yes, that's the one problem I also ran into building my system. This is why I was 100% sure that's what it was. I had it up too tight against the frame but when I modified the hanger a little bit it sat nearly perfect and did not shake the truck. $200 is a bit steep for that mod but that's Midas... I guess they spent more time looking for a way to modify the hanger.
  7. If your cat is glowing it's clogged. Replacing or gutting the cat would be the best fix. If you gut the cat, you can get one of those micro cat oxygen sensor adapters to avoid a CEL.
  8. Only supercharged Xterras and Frontiers have tougher transmissions. You want 2001+ supercharged for a beefier transmission.
  9. What type of fluid do you use? Do you have a transmission cooler? Does the ECU show any codes?
  10. I actually wonder which is louder. A 2.25" Flowmaster 40 (2 chamber) or a 2.50" Flowmaster 50 (3 chamber). The one extra chamber will make a muffler quieter but the diameter of the pipe will definitely amplify the noise. I pretty much have it 2.50" all the way back without any resonators.
  11. I switched to a Flowmaster 50 but now seem to be getting more attention from the local police when I launch in front of their cruisers.
  12. inside the hole for the bulb is usually where it starts you can try to clean it but most likely you will need to replace it
  13. i know when my turn signals were funky the sockets were so corroded that they were actually shorting on the bulb the fix was to get new turn signal assemblies
  14. it's probably corrosion inside the contacts
  15. If you use synthetic oil then that already has plenty of anti-wear and sludge solvent additives. You can try using thicker synthetic as well.
  16. it's most likely the lifters try adding some lucas oil stabilizer to quiet them down
  17. If you want to go HID then keep those stock fog lights as the HIDs aren't as good in the rain or fog. My only concern with those HID kits is their reliability. It looks like they work well but how long do they last? I usually don't trust cheap electronics. The whole reason I made my own harness was because I knew that Nissan relays were reliable. The head light bulbs that I used are also very reliable and emit lots of light. Not as much as HID but I can put my trust in them that they will always work when I need them.
  18. I was just thinking it was hanger related because he said it happened after the new exhaust system.
  19. Yes, the main difference is how the mud flaps (which you probably will not need) integrate with the flares. The other small difference is that the newer flares are made for a smaller front valence than the older flares. That's about it and I am pretty sure that both will work for your year.
  20. Always carry a spare distributor assembly with you. The crank angle sensors seem to be iffy sometimes on the 2 door pathfinders. Me and Mr510 just had a chat about that a few days ago.
  21. looks good i could never understand why these don't come with 3 inch suspension lifts
  22. If you have metal shavings on the magnet then chances are that you have metal shavings inside the transmission cooler line as well. I would check the cooler out first as that's the main reason why the automatic transmissions fail. The other thing you could do after you check out the cooling line is put some SeaFoam TransTune into the transmission and see if that helps you get reverse back. A junkyard transmission is the last place to look because chances are they are busted anyway. Just an FYI, you can take those transmissions out of any 3.0 or 3.3 Pathfinder or 3.3 Xterra up until 2004.
  23. You can do that. The exhaust needs a little slack to not vibrate. I built an entire system by myself so I know all about it. Make sure that the exhaust system goes straight and is not forced into any spots. The other spot that I would check is by the transmission cross member mounts. Just after the Y pipe take a look at how close that exhaust pipe gets. I had to shave about a 1/4 inch off there so that my 2.5" pipe fit. Sometimes they are not bent around properly and will cause a disaster with vibrations.
  24. i keep being pulled over, no idea why lol
