  1. I just have one stupid question... So I found an alternator on a Maxima that looks pretty much the same front and back as a Pathfinder one does except with slightly more beef. Front Top Back Now when the pulley comes off it looks like... Is that how the V-belt pulley is? Would a V-belt pulley swap directly or do I need to make an adapter?
  2. Welcome to Nissan Rust happened
  3. I really don't know what happened there. If you run a search for hardbody mounts and pathfinder mounts, they are different and don't interchange. Can you take a picture of the hardbody mount inside the wheel well like that too? I'm trying to figure something out here...
  4. Here are some more pictures: Old style, truck: Old style, pathfinder: New style, truck: New style, pathfinder: So from the looks of that photo nunya it looks like you have a Pathfinder mount.
  5. The climate probably has the biggest wear and tear effect on anything and any vehicle. Northern west coast climates are much easier on vehicles than northern east coast climates are.
  6. says someone who works at a dealership
  7. Don't forget that they do have a body lift from the factory. Maybe the only job of the insulation is to protect the paint and with more clearance in the bay you may not even need any insulation.
  8. From the time of my original post, I have put a new hood insulator on there from a pick and pull. Only cost me like $5 and 10 minutes of my time to put it on. I find it helps more in the winter where it keeps the heat locked in better and it doesn't really matter in the summer because I have a decent fan clutch. Overall, it's not a big deal and I would probably not even install it if I never had it or couldn't find a replacement.
  9. They don't break off from vibration but from corrosion. Although it is a mess by the battery and a power block would be nicer.
  10. It's really not that bad, you should see how Honda does this crap. I switched to an AGM battery and no longer have that issue with the acid eating up the terminals. In fact an AGM battery does not form any corrosion around those terminals. It's a 2-piece positive battery connection fastened together with a special bolt and it is very easy to maintenance.
  11. I had that before when I accidentally shorted out my gauge cluster. (Don't ask how...) The truck wouldn't even crank! The fix was replacing one of those fuses in the compartment below the steering wheel. Everything else was fine, even the fusible link was untouched. I can't remember which one it was but I would start with the one that says ROOM LAMP.
  12. In short: You can but you won't see a difference except for no A/C.
  13. No, it's a pickup truck. EDIT: Added the quote to what I was referring to. Some people thought I was saying this is impossible.
  14. You can check the FSM, it should all be in there. I have personally done it but to a square dash although I would imagine the round dash is similar. The procedure goes something like this: Remove all switches by prying them out with a plastic friendly tool and unplugging them. Remove all dash trim covers. Remove the steering wheel. Remove the gauge cluser. Remove the top winshield defrost vents trim pieces with a plastic friendly tool and unbolt the bolts behind them. Remove the bolts down by the kick panels below from both sides. Pull out the dashboard.
  15. it reminds me of one of those funky amusement park vehicles
  16. yes, like i said, it depends on the year/dash style i would expect more stuff to be lit up on newer years
  17. I guess sometimes they don't work as designed.
  18. that's what pretty much seat heaters are but i don't know how hard it is to install that in the seats
  19. Yes! I can tell you right now from memory that the following are not lit: Power shift mode switch (only has an indicator but no illumination) Rear window release switch Dimmer knob Power mirror control Intermittent rear wiper and washer switch Factory fog light switch (if equipped and indicator only) Power window controls
  20. I don't get all these haters on here, it looks like a lot of fun. Anyone that's afraid of flipping over in that is a p***y.
