  2. Ok, let me try to say this again because no one understands what I'm trying to say here... First of all, I don't think cup holders are bad. Having 1 or 2 cup holders molded into the console is nice because it leaves room for drinks (as long as they're in spill proof containers) and other things like spare fasteners or cup holder shaped power inverters. However, having 800 cup holders everywhere that slide out all over the place in a truck is ridiculous. That would just make an invitation for a pig sty! Nothing says awesome like all the sugary drinks spilled inside your interior, right? The absolute worst thing that I see on cars is how some of them have cup holders against the dashboard controls. That is exactly how those controls become sticky. About the coffee thing... :coffee!: I see this on the road every day: Idiots driving with their knees with a cell phone in one hand and a raw sewage brand of coffee in the other. Try to get your morning coffee out of the way first before you even leave the house.
  3. what is with people and this strange obsession with cup holders if you use your truck to go through drive thrus every day consider buying a different vehicle like a car
  4. yep the round dash cluster is electronic in the mechanical clusters the speed sensor is behind the speedometer in the electrical clusters the speed is directly taken from the transfer case gear (replaces the mechanical cable on older models)
  5. I guess I will have to hold my final verdict until it's finished.
  6. ^ Oops! Short memory, I did read that earlier. Here are the dimensions taken off RockAuto.com in the style you are looking for:
  7. The auto mirrors give you better control so even though they are a little smaller you can maneuver them around to see more things. Personally, I never had issues with seeing in those smaller power mirrors. The joystick is also convenient for adjusting the mirrors down for parallel parking. Just my 2 cents. I don't even know if those manual mirrors have a place to run the heater wire. Are you sure that they haven't revised the design or anything like that over the years? Also, if you want the dimensions, what is stopping you from grabbing a ruler and measuring them?
  8. attention wd21 owners: step bars are not rock sliders

the creative type can reinforce them if wanted, or they are easy to take of/put on

  9. Why not just convert to auto mirrors instead of dealing with all this ebay nonsense?

  11. The heated mirrors will swap directly with those manual mirrors. The only problem is there is no connector for the mirror heater in the 92 and under model years. You will have to wire the heated mirrors in manually.
  12. usually the cap comes with the rotor mine did
  13. while scouts are great trucks it's really hard to find parts for them the diesel ones actually use the same diesel that goes into the terranos i would have kept the pathfinder but if you want bigger then you got it
  14. all tune ups usually include new wires, new plugs, and a new rotor (with a cap) so ripping your old wires in half is not a big deal
  15. Exactly, it needs to fit the trans tunnel properly. The skeleton could have been a bit neater and used better material to save time in the fiberglass stage. There should be room for at least two switches but that depends on the options that came with the truck.
  16. you have to remove something, common sense isn't it
  17. that's correct, the transmission will drop out with the torsion bars and the bracket cross member out of the way you remove the torsion bars with the cross member as one single unit
  18. I was being hard on him? How? By saying that it was crooked and doesn't even come close to matching? He even agreed on that.
  19. It's not as stable as MDF and it warps. All properly made speaker boxes use MDF. Ok well for starters I would have started with an MDF frame which is more stable and doesn't warp. The skeleton you have right now looks crooked as hell. I might have missed it but would this all be touched up on the fiberglass or is this something you are going to adjust in the skeleton first? If you want a replacement console you can try your luck in the Parts Wanted section of the forum.
  20. I don't get the wood part about it. It's still wood no matter how you cover it up. Does this serve as a model before using fiberglass? I would try to get a console first, I'm sure someone around here can have a decent one for you. Using fiberglass is a very tedious process and you will need to account for the fit of the factory unit.
  21. The VG30E was switched to round tooth sprockets in around late 1993. You should be able to easily source newer sprockets and bottom crank gear. They swap right in!
  22. I would also like to add that you should look into the round sprocket conversion so you can use the round tooth timing belts which last much longer than square tooth ones.
  23. Not true, there have been at least a few members who asked me for help in a PM. As far as the rep goes, there are a few members on here that hate me for some reason. At least I'm honest about my opinion and I'm only trying to help. I'm not saying his craftsmanship sucks but only that this looks like a big waste of time.
