  1. hah what do you use? gas!?!?!?
  2. the Debate on "Family Friendly" content is a debate that will never be decided in the black and white. I think if the Mods do meet/talk about issues brought up on the board and act as a whole, then i think we as members can/should respect that. But no matter what, some people are going to get rubbed the wrong way. Americans in general need to learn to grow some thicker skin when it comes to these situations anyway. Just the other night, the farm i work at conducts summer hayrides, it happened to be my night to rope the kids in, and let them know the rules get them loaded and so on. One child asked me if he could stand up during the hayride, i said no, he said what about sitting on his knees, i again said no because it would be too tempting for him to want to stand up, and if everyone could just sit on their buts we would all have a good time. He looked at me like I had dropped the f-bomb. He then told me but was a bad word. I corrected myself with bottom. So, is but not family friendly?? This was just a point i wanted to make about pleasing everyone, and so much gray area is involved in what is actually appropriate. We all need to take a step back, realize this is just an online forum, not take things so much to heart, and realize what we are arguing about. That goes for everyone involved. And just to note, I definitely agree with Simon on this one and what he stated above. (EDIT: what he said on the last page)
  3. So, is the main reason we are trying to curb some of the allowable content on this forum because it "Is Not Safe For Work," because I feel this is only the problem of the person looking at online forums while at work (or school). Parents who are worried about their kids stumbling upon an open laptop, I say its the parents fault for leaving that laptop open. You are responsible for what YOU look at while at work, and YOU are responsible for allowing your kids to look at your computer and so on and so forth. How about we take some responsibility here folks and drop that caddy BS about oh gosh I cant see anything inappropriate while at work or school, chances are you shouldn't be browsing in either location anyway, do your work. Now, that being said if someone has a personal problem with the picture or phrase or whatnot that should be addressed, and not saying addressed means taken down or whatnot. I think we can all agree the internet is far from a perfect world. We can not expect this forum to be spotless, some people really get into their avatars and signature pics. I think we all need to calm down a little bit and realize is this conversation really worth it? I mean if your kids came up and read his forum name of morningwould, do you really think your kids would know what he is insinuating? His picture of the two women is small, no nudity, and looks to me to be an artists rendition anyway, would your kids even notice? Or is your horn dog of a boss looking over your shoulder at work, not caring that you are not doing the work set in place for you to be doing, but instead he gets on you about shadowed nude female bodies less than a 2x2 picture on your screen??? C'mon.
  4. oh yea its been a while since i heard from good ole max!!!
  5. I will donate 50, but i do not have paypal, so whenever this gets rolling i need to know where to send a personal check, or even if this is a viable option...
  6. I love the Lucas "Red and Tacky" personally, pretty much use it in everything. If i ran out of that, I just use the Valvoline that has the anti-seize in it.
  7. I am doing an auto to manual swap on my newly purchased 95 hardbody and do not have the crank to flywheel bolts. I have done this swap before on my pathfinder, but when i pulled the flywheel myself off of the donor truck I remembered to take the crank bolts with me... This time I bought the tranny and flywheel off of a friend, and he did not keep the bolts. So, I am hoping to not have to buy a couple bolts from nissan for an outrageous price of 6.80 (local price) plus shipping. So, anyone have their transmission out, auto or manual that can tell me the thread pitch and size of the bolts for me? If I can get the size then I am sure fastenal or spar metric near me will have the bolts for peanuts compared to nissan. Sure I love driving my nissan and love my new truck but I will be damned if i go to my local nissan dealership, bunch of thieves and horrible to deal with, dont want to help out any nissan owner that is driving anything older than 04. Very frustrating. Any help would be appreciated guys!!!
  8. this is what i do not understand, why out of all the struts out there, and all the strut manufacturers out there, is there not an identical strut for a r50 that is about an inch or two longer, this would nearly cure the "topping out" sensation and make for a better ride....
  9. Hey happy Bday Cari, have a good one, I know I will!!!
  10. That is something that needs to be fixed ASAP. If it breaks off along the rest of the upper strut mount, that means it sends your strut and tire towards the hood, and sends you pulling to the right into a ditch or worse. I am surprised the mechanic did not say quit driving it, if the whole mount flexes because of the rust hole that is very scary stuff. That being said someone with some patience and a good base knowledge of metal fabrication should be able to cut and patch that well enough. I imagine it would be costly to get it fixed though. Good luck and hope it works out for you.
  11. ummm, right. so this shudder feeling? when downshifting correctly you shouldnt feel anything out of the ordinary. if you had not noticed your automatic downshifts on its own to help slow you down. watch your rpms when slowing my WD did it on its own (grant it not very much but did when i was decelerating, like on an off ramp). Downshifting does not do any more wear and tear on an engine than driving it to the grocery store. all you are doing is using the compression the engine already naturally has to help slow the vehicle. I have never heard any rumors to what engine braking when done smartly (not slamming it into such a low gear your tires squeal) and correctly will ever do damage to your vehicle
  12. yep. also, for some reason the sylvania H7 bulbs have been notorious for blowing lately. I work part time at advance auto parts and i dont know how many H7s i have changed in peoples vehicles(same people/vehicle many times). we occasionally replace them for free because we realize this is an issue.
  13. yea im from VA, up near Winchester. www.va4x4.com is a great forum with local trail rides planned and such, its mostly nissan with a few toy and zuki guys on there as well.
  14. good. im not going crazy, i knew i didnt have a ford ALTY on my pathfinder!!!
  15. wait wait wait, i thought nissan made the villager...actually i know thats how it is, the villager has a VG in it....
  16. i used about a gallon, and prep was rough up the area to be herc'ed (obviously tape off areas not to be) and wipe down with acetone, and roll it on. i did two coats, but am thinking about getting a underbody coating sprayer and doing it again with another gallon. put it on thick is all i can recommend, i wish i would have used about a gallon and a half, did it in about a day, with ample drying time in between with help of some friends.
  17. i herculined my exterior from the body line down, and all of the front fenders...heres what it looks like
  18. if you can cut and weld get some creeper joints from trail gear. or actually i think steevo has some on his site that actually fit directly into the stock link mounts...
  19. just curious alex, what are you selling the kits for? and what design are you using? PM me if you dont want to share it...
  20. B, these glasses, care to send up a link? i have been somewhat looking for a good pair of glasses with a small LED light on them to help me see when working underneath. link me up
  21. yea Chris, are you talking about a block at the rag joint (the rubber piece in the steering shaft that flexes) that would space the rack out just enough for a 2 inch subframe drop? I cant completely remember but i believe it can be done (taking Max's apart so long ago havent seen another r50 up close)
  22. yes, not much, but a little more, at most a half a quart
  23. are you running into things that are breaking them? or are you saying just the vibration is enough to stress the tabs? basically I have never had that problem (always had a brush guard and now an ARB)
