  1. or stripped out and anchor
  2. that is so odd. well even if you find it online the downfall of most part stores is their own part listing databases. generally if you can take them a part number they can and usually will get you that part. I work part time at Advance Auto here in VA and many times our computer system says we do not have it, but when i cross reference a part number (especially for plugs) we usually have them in stock. If you have an advance auto up near you, I know they can get you (and should have on the shelf) NGK Iridiums, and can order you some NGK wires.
  3. densos and ngks are both good buys for plugs and wires, but i seem to always pick NGK, more readily accessible. Although both are sold at advance auto, might want to check there or a local place, they all sell NGKs....
  4. pics of how it mounts and dimensions of the light might help...
  5. Ok let me ask you this. How do you expect our government to actually make money? Lower taxes so we can just what? Print more money to pay for this "conflict" we are in? Print money to help pay for the future of our country's (the childrens) education? Where are we supposed to find this money? How can we have a supportive government that does not have a way to generate money for itself? Please tell me how that is supposed to work. One policy i would have liked to see work in the Bush administration was the no child left behind act, but what that did was promise funding from the national gov't, which never went through, so the states gov'ts adjusted their budgets accordingly. But that money never arrived, we got into a meaningless war and the money that was allotted for the policy dried up, and so the schools took the hit. I saw this a lot locally talking to local officials and could see programs that had to be cut in our schools three or four years ago and have yet to have the money supplied to them to bring these things back.
  6. Thank you, this is exactly how I feel. Our country as a whole needs to regain some of its respect (towards who is leading our country) back that was lost while Bush was in office. He is a wonderful orator that can hopefully accomplish some of what he preaches. I dislike it when people make comments about finding his "magic hat" because without it he wont be able to make good on all of his outlandish promises, but I ask you, did he always say he was going to accomplish them in his 4 years? No. He always said we need to get the ball rolling towards these solutions, he never said "magically" it was going to happen in his four years, he mainly projected 8 to 10 years, which I think is realistic. As far as being upset about the redneck comment, no need to get upset about it JM, its a common title he receives from people in other countries, and I personally think how could they think otherwise? He isnt a good public speaker, he normally comes across as knowing nothing (even if that is not the case) being just a "dumb redneck puppet" for the rest of his administration to puppeteer around. So overall I think Obama is a good change, even just a face change and hopefully he will be able to get something accomplished with a Dem. Senate and House.
  7. why are you setting aside the drive shaft?? they are the same auto to manual...so are the t-cases....
  8. hahaha chris pushing his Aero exhausts.......
  9. otherwise called a proportioning valve.
  10. thats awesome. ive seen a couple 4 doors choped, frontier2k1 (richard) did his before he chopped his up and sold it all. it looked really good, he also was running a full exo cage as well though...
  11. Im not going to sit here and tell you it will be easy, but it might be easier if you just used your transmission (manual) and put in the super charged 3.3 (and all the electrical involved in that) which I am not to sure of. it will be a pain, but less of a pain if you kept your 5 speed

    Electrical?

bad battery. throw a new battery (or known working battery) into the truck and i bet she will fire up.
  13. why not just paint it with some high heat paint then?
  14. not to mention the VG33s that were 'charged had upgraded injectors, so its not so cheap and simple us vg30 guys would have to step ours up as well...
  15. if its a steep enough incline it could also be the engine slowly leaking off compression, as in there is enough weight against the flywheel to turn the pistons over
  16. oh man. we have a tractor with a bucket, but would have never thought of using it....great idea!
  17. at the moment i dont have any place to work on your pathy down here either. if i had more time or was able to call a couple days off work i would be glad to do it. but honestly i dont even want to get your hopes up because I am so busy and i feel like if i tried to work it all in, i would just be wasting your time. sorry. If anything comes up (like a place to do actually work on it, AKA a garage space opens up) i will let you know via PM. sound good?
  18. yep, my point exactly is the fact of driving distance. Sure I know I'm in VA, but its a good solid couple hours of driving, to bring all my tools, do the Tbelt, then load back up and drive home...Plus the fact at the moment i work two jobs and taking a day off really cuts down on my paycheck that i need so dearly. Not that 500 wouldn't be nice

how do you beg to differ? if you dont stick with a Dana axle driver drop, then yes, major fabrication is needed in the drivetrain area.

ah sorry i didnt see this. i got a HP 44 out of a late 70s (77-79) ford f150 and yea, chevy outers
  21. well i know changing the thermostat is a PITA but if you havent done a Tbelt job yet might as well, and then do the thermo as well at the same time...
  22. no the battery does not have a reserve. when the alternator dies your car will just be running on the batters power. Once the battery goes dead so will your car. Sometimes the dummy lights (brake and battery light) dont come on because they did not sense the drop in voltage and wont alert you to the dead alty. So you can be driving around on just battery power for a little bit and then when that goes your car will "peter out and die"
  23. ok also, a thermostat can cause an erratic idle. is yours stuck open?
  24. nope. 30 miles would not do that to tires. its been like that for a while. admit it
  25. i really like those dick cepek ones....
