  1. for the brake line NAPA might be able to make 1? i know i've seen them make extended hydro lines for things like AC and power steering but i donno if they do brake lines or not... or where the T bolts in have them make a hard line that extends it however far u need it and then thread the T back in with the original rubber lines... whats wrong with the stainless? after u get a lift on it they'll be purty
  2. 88 i dont think that'll fit on a stock 87...they ran the brake lines right down the frame rail there and i know with the reg filter on the last threads it butts flushly up against that 1...i could see it working on my 95 b/c they did a better job with opening a lil space around the filter... so once again another good reason to get a lift
  3. sorta like a pilot bearing?..i'll take a look im pretty good with a drill in drilling out the pilot bearings so if it looks similar i'll drill it out autozone is like 15 mins away and i never drive by it or i'd stop in 1 day pick it up and then drop it off the next... but thanks for the heads up
  4. ??? is there a link to this i thought they were all the same?
  5. alright thanks...if thats the case then i need to find some different sensors then that are present for the canadian pathy if its involved in emissions
  6. so from looking at the harness and diagram it looks like i need the harness from the gages to the cruise button to the fuse block...the harness from the main harness to the tranny...clutch pedal and harness...with the ecu and then i think everything will work out i also believe i need to unhook all of the automatic crap i think it would work without the tranny stuff tho b/c its just reverse, neutral, tcase, and speedo...besides the reverse sensor is busted on my tranny hmm that reminds me i need to check the 87 diagram with the 95 im sure it hass all the same sensors i might have to do some plug swapping if they chagned them up... so if i can find all those pieces i think im going to give this a go...the worst that can happen is it doesnt work and have to swap everything back over...its nothing but time...
  7. are the american and canadian ecu's different...im interested in jay's ECU but got to thinking that since its canadian it might not work??? i know they have DRLs (or at least from the wiring diagram) but i didnt know if they somehow changed the also i got the impression that they didnt change anything really from 90-95 is this correct? so i could get an ecu for those ranges to run with a 95
  8. get a swivel for the upper bell housing bolts it makes live a lot better... u can barely fit a wrench behind the LCA but it will fit but i thought it was a 14? i could be mistaken (that might be for the 2 smaller 1's) i would say drop them together...its a lil tougher getting it back up in there without a tranny jack i always throw a tow strap thru the shifter hole but u'd have to pull that plate off i think if i remember right on the auto's PB is great stuff but if the mist gets in ure eyes it burns really bad...just dont drop anything on ure hands/arms/fingers
  9. thats what my snap ring looked like the 1st time i did it without snapring plyers using a screwdriver and needle nose plyers...i think it'll be ok as long as it seats in the groove all the way around and isnt loose...mine did so its still on the truck...
  10. well u see i do still do have an extra rear end layin around...so if she fucts up...then just make a ride to nc and u have 1...also for an exchange...but im being buzzed 4 the night jcg being jeep grand cherokee springs are...depending on the year i can get them for $10 a piece...cd PM me with a year and we can work out a deal...say like 40-50 shipped? if the right year is in the yard? or maybe a yard that has them for cheaper near u...but the trick is u pull it
  11. try bypassing the amps still...its going to be the easiest solution i think...the head unit should have more than enough power to run it...if not get an aftermarket amp and run it to get the extra thump
  12. sounds like shocks to me...an easy fix...depending on what u buy it can be rather cheap or expensive...
  13. its a lot better than my russian or any other language for that matter
  14. well hopefully this storm stays away so the fishin is good...we're taking a charter out on friday so fri night sat we'll prob just ride out and try for some drum or maybe some flounder
  15. i checked part #'s and they're different i had also figured there would be a pressure difference... i think im going to try to lay out the harness and compare connectors later on today...
  16. i donno but i'll be there thurs-sun...u do any fishing... i'd like to do some drum fishing but i've heard from hear say that the point is closed off cuze of the friggin birds nesting is this true?
  17. u sure the plugs were gapped right? and i'd also check to make sure all of the plug wires were connected good in the 1st place... i know when i test ran wheelmans pathy it and had some black smoke if u hit the gas and i thought i worried about it for a couple of days until i went to pull the motor and i noticed 1 of the plug wires wasnt snapped in and i could see the marks on the boot from the arcs missing
  18. i really like the pickup the EFI has compared to my TBI to me it seems like it has more power im not sure what its rated but i'd say it seems like it has 20-30 more hp with the efi... but if i cant get all of this to work out that is y i was going to leave the old harness in...so i could swap intakes go and hook everything back up and get rolling also im pretty surei'd have to switch fuel pumps...
  19. did some varmit climb in the exhaust and build a nest in the exhaust somewhere...burnt fireworks kinda smells like sulfer/boiled eggs hows the cat?... im not sure of the ecu codes but it sounds like it should be something simple or possibly the crank angle sensor?
  20. i hit mine with the air gun sitting at 120 psi 3 of the 4 were reall easy to come out the last 1 the gun had to impact on it about a dozen times or so before it came out... and i pulled the starter bracket off of the block 2 14mm bolts that gave me more room
  21. yea yea what he said...or just do some clipping and bypass the amps with some speaker wire to see if thats where ure problem is??? im not sure if u want to do that with a stock deck but an aftermarket deck will be easy to do
  22. get some sheet metal cut 2 squares(or whatever shape u need to get to a mounting place) out drill 3 holes in it 2 for pop rivits on the plastic shroud and either use exhisting holes or make new 1's to bolt it to...and if u need to bend it that can be done pretty easily and inexpensive...
  23. i started going thru the wiring diagrams and it looks like most of it i can work out im going to lay the harnesses on top of each other and verify the connectors and make sure i have everything i need... the only differences i should run into are on the tranny and rear end and i need to get a manual ECU...also need to verify that the harness has both manual and auto connectors which is the impression i got from the book... is there anyway i can find out what the ecu needs commands from to run right... thanks for the input i will prob start on it monday and tues B4 i hit the obx and then on the weekends so i'll try to keep updates of what i've done and what i've concluded
  24. alright... i guess the only thing that i really dont have is the sensor off of the rear end and im not sure of the connectors on the tranny's but before i start i guess i'll go thru and check every connector in the book from each as well as the connectors on each harness
  25. hmm this is interesting...looks like i need to do a lot more checking then...
