uhmm ures is r 134-a right...i know if its r 12 you have to get a retro fit kit to make it work or take it to a shop b/c they have the r-12 couplings and dont have to swap them out they can just charge it up.... you have a high pressure side and a low pressure side i cant remember which side you fill on but i know if its not charged you'll need to pull a vaccum on the system before you fill it... btw nice lookin truck

are there any stroker kits out there for maxima's, pathys or hb's...i think that would be awsome...
-

ball joints? i didnt know that they could be so loud but when we did ryans they were god awful loud and were a constant noise but not while it was rolling of course
-
diconnect the coil so she doesnt fire up...im always scared to try it like that and cant you put an auto in drive?

yep no problem it sounds like the starter gear is coming out and not meshing with the flywheel or getting hung up or something and the battery is good and its not clicking like a starter does when it goes bad but just once and i'd assume its at stall i checked voltage tho it might not have enough amps but i know the battery cranked wheelmans truck about 3 weeks ago...i might throw it in my truck to make sure it cranks it ruling out a bad battery

i searched and nothing seems to be the same so if i missed it and some1 has a link that will be fine but i put the manifolds on and hooked everything back up on my 87 so i can check to see if the motor is good or not before i pull it and put in wheelmans...the starter will click once i feel that its in a bind...i'm wondering what could cause this tomorrow im going to try and roll it back and forth in gear to see if i can get it to work i suspect somehow the teeth aren't meshing up but dont know how to make them
-
put it in like 4th gear or something put the prybar and socket on it take a hammer and hit the hell outta the pry bar it'll work like an impact wrench thats how i always get mine off if you just try to use brute force it'll turn the motor over so quick jolt will break it loose good luck...you might also want to take a punch and line up ure top cams to the timing marks and use a punch to mark the crank if yours isnt marked

those lil plastic caps they put over the body bolts in the cab...if you ever have the body off they'll know b/c i didnt get any of them out wihtout tearing them up so i guess that could be an insurance liability safety deal for them having tamper proof bolts i donno about tackling a BL now just cuze it seems like it'd be a huge PITA
-
that nifty lil interlock button (although its on the wrong side IMO)...not even sure if my 95 has it but it is awsome in the 87 if the keys over just bump that lil button and she'll crank right up just gotta be careful if its in gear cuze that doesnt matter

ex gf's dad used to make castings for all kinds of things out of dental plastar...like what they make a sculpture of ure teeth to cast dentures -
very true i watched my 87 on the POV lot on bragg for about a month my aunt really liked nissans (my uncle that died of cancer only had datsuns and nissan trucks) so she talked my mom into it and i was like well ok (really didnt like how the rear end sat up so much higher and the small radials) so they went out and got it and after driving it for about a week i never wanted nething else in turn my cuz(the aunts daughter) bought the 95 that i just recently bought from her been hooked on pathys since 16 i havent ever really had a problem with it but i have seen much much worse on fwd cars and the ls1's
-
on my 87 and 95 those things have long since been lost but for the longest time i had no idea y there were plastic tabs in the middle of the seats until 1 day it jumped in my head ... 7. i think one thing is the ride characteristics...esp the roll moments b/c i've been in serveral suv's (explorers, bronco II's, jeeps) that i felt really uncomfortable in taking small turns at any moderate rate of speed 8. how similar all the wd21s are in the interchangability of most parts including some of the nissan car parts as well 9. the reduction of blind spots from the drivers seat

wacky guages, dim lights no stereo --alt or batt?
unccpathfinder replied to SteeevO's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
i've read this several times and know its a possibility but almost every shadetree mechanic i know has done it many times (i've done it a couple when a multimeter/parts store wasnt available) and have never heard of any1 frying anything and never reconnected it while the vehicle was still running was just curious of a probabilty or confirmed cases of this happening im by far an electronics expert...i just do stuff that makes my electrical engr roommate cringe but yet i've fried nothing compared to the things he's fried but just being curious -
or could just unbolt it completly and remove it so theres more working area i think its only 4 14mm bolts
-
reminds me mine used to not unlock when its cold out so if the passenger hit above the lock on the outside it would unlock from the inside by pulling up on the lock

wacky guages, dim lights no stereo --alt or batt?
unccpathfinder replied to SteeevO's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
i had to do this on my old head unit i was pulling too much from the rear so if i cranked it the head unit would cut off come back on and continue to play also when my voltage regulator went bad the headlights/dash lights would get brighter as the rpms increased... i'd say check it with the multi-meter to see if ure charging alright -
some advance autoparts stores you can find on the "help isle" a slim jim but its not called a slim jim i think they refered to it as a lockout tool? also our dollar stores sometimes have them
-
i dont think theres a problem with it you can type what ya want and if its censored then some1 can fill in the blanks if they want...one board that i do know of but not a part of is something awful and they let lots of stuff go but if you offend some1 then u're banned for a lil while and if it was bad enough ure banned for good but mostly every1 on here is laid back and understanding without getting their panties (no offense ladies ) in a bunch but there are a few that can get up tight and if its towards me most of the time i just push the edge (i had a huge problem growing up laughing in my dads face when he would get in mine and start yelling its something in me that i think is hillarious when people get pissed over stupid stuff and cant help but laugh but that usually makes them more mad but i like the site how it is

could you possibly remove the door handle on the inside and see if you could grab the linkage connected to the latch? just a thought i have 1 and i have opened doors on many cars but could never seem to get it to work on the pathy doors or carefully cut a hole for a 6x9 speaker in the door to give u access then cut one in the other side kindly install some for your son or tell him hes got the holes now its up to him to fill them bust out the glass and go dukes of hazzard style

How many miles do you get from a full tank?
unccpathfinder replied to zack1978's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
i havent ran out yet but im gonna test it tomorrow i've been avging 19.8 running 60 miles to and from work for 2 weeks and running an avg speed of 70-80 with the exhaust leak its not too bad...but i've gotta really goofy guage and it goes empty in like 100 miles and then dances up to a quarter and empty a lot...so i calculated it and i should be able to get to the cheap gas tomorrow (SC its 2.47 right now as oppossed to charlottes 2.77) so i guess i could get about 416 miles per tank give or take a couple -
yea u had it right...well that makes me feel better cuze i usually never run it...but w/ thebum finger i cant hang the arm out the window & i dont want it 2 sweat 2 much so i was running the ac... but i was scared that full tire carcuss (not some tiny thing) that got thrown up and i ran over (no option cuze there was a concrete wall on 1 side & a semi on the other & 1 behind going about 75) it wasnt a very big drop just enough 4 me to worry
-
so 2day while riding home i noticed @ random intervals a lil jerk while going down the highway but only when i had the ac off it didnt happen so i was wondering if this was a result of the comp. kicking on &off
-
sweet sounds like progress...loooks like the swap w/ wheelmans motor is going 2 prolong my 87 running again...esp after i dropped his FA on my hand 2day & going 2 the er...so hopefully in 2 weeks i can finish the pull & start the install...would like 2 start this wekend but i dont think the gf is gonna let that happen (she was yellin at me once we got back & i was tryin 2 help clean up the tools... but congrats red...hope u get her all tweaked out & give her a good mud bath
