*Compares the $80-$110 walk in price, it to his $20 yota WP* Well anyway, Oliver you need to make the call here... base it on the number of miles on the truck and how reliable it has been overall. When i did the T-Belt the first time (on the original engine) I decided not to change the pump. I again made that same call on the replacement engine... in fact, I seldom change water pumps when I do timing. For the most part it has not caused me any issues. Another thing to consider, is how willing and able you will be to do the same job all over again if it does go out after you change the T-belt.

I know I PM'ed this too you while we were talking about the problem, but figured I would link it here for other members too Broken or stripped bolt?

I think I paid $14(usd) a few years ago for a replacement F-link harness... If you do i recommend that you call around local dealer, as i have found the prices to differ by a lot on some items. Or you could do as mentioned above and replace it with a fuse block.

Auto hubs do not suck... for what they are intended to do: Be convenient for light duty, occasional use of 4WD. They will hold up to more heavy duty usages as well, but I don't think thye were ever really intended to the same type and amount of hard work that manuals will do. Tear them down and give them a good once over, then check again. If you intend on keeping them, then replace anything that looks worn or is otherwise not within spec. A little grease won't hurt, I can only take others words for it on "to much is bad" as I have never had a problem with the Auto's on my Pathy and my Yota has manual Superwinch's. As for manuals and winter... if you normally have mild winters but occasionally get bad weather, then make the decision to lock them (or not) each morning before leaving for work/school/whatever.

Given what you have already tried.. I would have to second the heat suggestion. Some penetrating oil can't hurt either.

If you take the time to look you could probably locate some grommets that, if done right would eliminate the need for silicone... or would reduce it to simply working as a gap filler and adhesive for the grommet.

I see where the confusion came from. No card that I know of (I have never had one either) it's just a way of saying that your an official member of the NPORA club.

JVC has always treated me good I have a tape deck w/12disk CD changer in my yota, which is 10+yrs old now and the deck still works fine. Although I am getting an arror from the changer now. My Pathy has had a Toshiba tape deck (and 6disk changer) since I installed it, just after I bought the truck. The Pathy was the Toshiba decks third home since I bought it new a couple years before the JVC. I just replaced that deck even though it still works just like it did when new, but the changer died a couple years ago and it was time to get a CD deck.... I am guessing changers have an approximate life of 10yrs? I replaced it with a JVC HD Radio deck (HDR1) and so far I love it, in addition to the built in HD Radio tuner it also it plays MP3/WMA's and is also SAT and iPod/Media player ready. They also gave it three sets of pre-amp outputs. JVC - HD Radio Crutchfield wants $199.99 for the HDR1 Crutchfield.com - HDR1 I however got mine from overstock.com for $159.99 Overstock.com - HDR1

nothing wrong with the truck Have an owners manual? it's in there You have found 2H and 4H (trust me, you would know 4L if you were in it) Put it in 4H then push the stick down and pull it back for N and 4L

I'll second that... before the last wheeling trip I pulled my rear bumper so I could bend the ends (where they wrap around the sides) back out and away from the body a bit more... the PO seemed to have had something against the bumper corners as all four are messed up. Two bolts per side are attached to each other by a steel plate that they are pressed into. One of the bolts stripped out the "teeth" in the plate and would just spin in place. I ended up taking an angle grinder to it and ground the nut almost all the way down to nothing, before I was able to get it out. I replaced it with a nut and bolt and now have a replacement bumper in the garage waiting to go on.
-
It's uncommon but getting the same key design is possible.. as you found out As I understand it, it is not recommended to run more than a single locking lug per wheel. Something about the average strength of a locking lug nut not being equal to that of a normal lug nut

That would be Arctic Mark Nice Box!

Just so the newer members know, Jay has heard every bit of this numerous times... he asks then dissapears for a while then comes back and asks again etc Jay, what one do you really want? Are you going to be ordering soon?

Don't use the cheapest oil walmart has to offer My brother had one with nearly 200K on it and it ran like a champ (when he traded it in on a Trailblazer for his wife ).
-
My brother had a "kill switch" in an old Maverick he had. It was actually the ignition wires re-routed under the drivers seat with a switch installed (problem with ign switch and the prior owner made the change). When he traded it in on a new truck, the dealer had to call him after he got home. it was still parked right in the middle of the lot where he left it, they had techs checking it out and everything, could not figure out why it would not start As for Mr. P's blue LEDs, I leave my bluetooth headset in the truck all the time (except when charging it) which has a timed flashing blue LED on it. I have been asked how I like my alarm, by several people since I got that headset

$10? and no shipping.... take it Although I do like the PDF versions I still always prefer to have a hard copy availible to me... they easier to deal with out in the garage when your in the thick of things

I'll let my sig speak for my opinion on your choice Yota's have awesome aftermarket support... just about anything you could want, somebody makes it for them

Ahh but there is a true Right and Left side Otherwise the terms "Right Hand Drive" and "Left hand Drive" would have no meaning

It is true that there are a couple members here who own X's, however they are either prior owners of Pathfinders or have contributed a lot our little community and where, iirc, members prior to owning the X's. But the same goes for HB's, a couple here own them too
