interesting.... just about everyone else on Nissan bb's has said hg48 = 4.8 gears, which is what i thought now why cant the s t u p i d Nissan dealer have record of my path having hg48??? anyways guess theres only one way to REALLY find out........ keep ya posted if i bother getting round to it -

NO the inner cv 'cup' is recessed at the end you have to tap the end seal off, thats why i mentioned it

well the info on the link tells me nothing new however i did ring a Nissan dealer and tried to find out whats going. gave him my transaxle number and vin number, here searched for ten minutes, found my vehicles vin number, told me i had the lsd axle (emphasis being on HAD..... hehehehe) not that thats news to me. but for the life of him he couldnt find the transaxle number, kept telling me i had 4.3 or 4.6 - no new news there either my transaxle number is: FS5W71C HG48 - taken straight of the vehicle id plate the fs bit is the transmission and t case combo and the next bit is supposed to be the the diffs. but no one knows about the HG48 now a while ago while over on AC some said that the HG48 means 4.8 gears, thats why i thought what i thought, all this discussion has made me want to find out whats going on anyways the fact that the dealer couldnt find HG48 leads me to think i still have 4.8's just that no one can find it on paper anyone shed any light??? steve -
[rant] no matter where you have a jerry can in an accident its going to be dangerous. no ifs, buts or maybes i must admit for some one to hit my jerry can it would have to be another 4wd due to the height offthe ground all i know is i didnt want it iside the cab if someone finds a 'safe' place to mount a jerry can on a vehicle let me know cause i will be the first to move mine. [/rant]

well technically your right, but when theres no need you should unlock em if you leave em lock the diff will be turning over = more wear and tear on your vehicle and also slightly less mpg

good mod there engaged at a flick of the dial, not like the autos thake take a bit to engage. as well as not having a mind of their own however you do have to get out the vehicle and engage them by hand would highly recomend em

jack & support car, remove front wheel 1.loosen torsion bar completely 2.disconnect & remove locking hub 3.disconect steering arm 4.remove brake caliper 5.disconnect & remove wheel hub 6.disconnect & remove axle note: you may have to unbolt the bottom of the shock to get the axle out working on axles: 1.put the axel in a vice, working on inner joint 2.tap the joint toward the outer joint. the end seal will pop off (dont go too hard you dont want to damage the seal) 3.remove clip on tripod joint 4.remove tripod 5.disasemble shalf and clean well (the outer joint does tap off (but this step can be very hard to do and also not necasery)) 6.regrease well and fit new boots 7. reasemble (reverse of process) hint: buy a cv boot banding tool (cheap ($40) and worth its weight in gold) - style that winds in with a rachet motion just be careful and mark where the boots lie on the axle and how long the axle is. (the inner joint has 'floating' length). if you get it wrong you WILL be doing it again

hi guys i have a z24 5 speed twin sparky, carby do you guys have fuel injection or carby which drive train do you have? hg48 or 46 (not sure on the hg bit but you get the picture) i got the 48.... mmmmmm 4.8 gears -
** PUTS ON FLAME SUIT ** in all truthfullness i would reckon you would get away with that kit you might have to make the steering work yourself but other than that its so simple a noob could do it with a bit of effort
