  1. We just sold our 2001 Maxima GXE auto with 72k miles for $10,200. I couldn't believe it went for that much! Whenever I drove it I probably got 12 MPG. But ours was modded, with Y-pipe, intake, timing advance to 17 degrees. They HAUL! It's a possible replacement for my Poopfinder too. The rear suspension design sucks, it's a beam axle. The 2002 Xenons are nice, but get stolen a lot. I'd consider it, but you really should look into BMWs. Way more fun.
  2. First off, sorry about the long post. I have a ton of questions because I know nothing. I'm about to start my second year of college, and never really cared about motorcycles until the past few days. I'm getting a little tired of cars, especially my Assfinder. 14 MPG isn't cutting it, and it's really annoying to burn $2.40 in gas going to the gym and back, let alone pleasure drives. I would keep the Pathfinder, just not use it as much. Also being in college, it's either this or a bicycle, and I'd obviously rather have a motorcycle for obvious reasons. I'm not the flashy, showy type. I may screw around a little in my cage, but I don't carry the notion that I'm immortal. Frankly, I'm scared @!*%less of riding. I want a cheap, but forgiving bike. I've been reading all night about good beginner bikes. I'd be looking more towards a Kawasaki Ninja 250 as a first bike, and am shocked that they are so cheap. I would need to finance it though, and I don't have credit, lol. I looked on eBay and saw that there isn't much price savings used over new, and I think I would rather pay the premium for a zero-mile, never-abused, never-dumped bike over a used one, not to mention getting easy financing. Something tells me that these bikes are the Kias of the bike world. I also don't understand how the licensing system works. Do I buy a bike, then somehow get it to the DMV to get my learner's permit? then there iare the MSF courses to do. I need to check on prices. Where is a good place to look at clothing? How do you go to the store with these things? Where do you park? Do you wear a backpack and carry your helmet? Do you walk into the hardware store with full leathers? Sorry about the long post. If you can help me with any of it, or state your opinion I would greatly appreciate it.
  3. I hate how it looks retarded when you remove the rear mud flaps on mine. I want to keep the flare thingy that mounts on the bumper but remove the actual flap...it's one piece.
  4. My Pathfinder actually has an Infinti QX4 fob. The PO did it; they basically look the same, but the Infiniti one has chrome on the bottom ring and has an Infiniti logo. Your Pathfinder definitely had keyless from the factory. My fob doesn't say the model on it though...You're completely sure the batteries are good?
  5. Give us pics and we will be able to tell...

  7. Call or go to the dealer service desk. Run your VIN and they can tell you standard and optional equipment. They told me that mine has an LSD, but with 110k miles it doesn't' work.
  8. Are you positive the vehicle was equipped with Keyless from the factory? Not all had them...depends on the year and trim model. Sorry, but just want to make sure.
  9. Where did you order the KYBs from? Is there anywhere cheaper than Tirerack? How much did you pay in labor? I need to know what is reasonable... Thanks!
  10. Hmmm...that's bizzare. I pulled the original plugs on my Pathfinder with 100k miles and they looked great, but still replaced them. Good job by buying the correct plugs, a lot of people screw that part up.
  11. I thought new mounts weren't expensive. I know that OE is the best, but you can go with KYB from www.tirerack.com and it's not terrible.
  12. Could you post a picture of what you are talking about? Since the truck is under warranty, I would see the dealer, but my sunroof has what I think you are talking about.
  13. This board is a bit too civil for me, but I don't spend much time here. Most of my time is spend at www.tehdriven.com, an off-topic car forum, mainly guys like me who migrated from www.bimmerforums.com. TDF is a very close but dirty community. I wish NPORA was like that but I'm not gonna be the one who pops the NPORA cherry.
  14. Yes. I would be putting the 9/16" spacer that Rocky Road sells on the front struts. The rear would be left alone. Cool, thanks for the advice. Where did you get your 1" spacer from? Where else can I buy spacers? :help: EDIT: Forgot to ask if you got new strut mounts. Did you?
  15. Well, I started this thread six months ago and am now finally getting around to actively looking for a lift. After swaying back and forth and reading opinions here and on the AC board, I'm going with the OME suspension/OME shocks/KYB struts. Is it necessary to get new OEM strut mounts? How long are the original strut bolts? How many are there? I can't do the work myself so Ill end up having a shop install the suspension, so I'll need to find out what length I need and how many to buy... Thanks...
  16. Wow. I'm very, very impressed. +1 on his advice too.
  17. Welcome...A few Chattanooga/Middle TN people on here, including me. Where exactly in TN are you?
  18. Any filter you want. I just changed mine with Mobil-1 synthetic and a Purolator oil filter, but that was just because I didn't feel like spending my lunch money on a Mobil-1 filter too.
  19. Nice Pathfinder! I'm not a big fan of WD21s, but I really like yours. Also, good idea to buy a Southern Pathfinder, these trucks being older are having some rust issues, something I doubt you will ever have to worry about. Not sure about your brake issue, bleeding/new fluid would have been my first instinct. No pedal adjustment that I've ever heard of; new Master Cylinder may help. Make a thread in the WD21 section about it and I'm sure the experts could help out. Good luck with that. Off-Topic: I'm going to Colombus this Saturday for a day...any cool local restaurants?
  20. That ticking could also be something worse...regardless, $2000 isn't a lot of money for a clean 4x4. Typically before you buy it you get it checked out. If the manifolds are bad, def. get 300ZX studs and Thorley headers. You won't be disappointed. Check for rust on the frame, and bypass the tranny cooler ASAP. Oh yeah, WELCOME!
  21. Not sure about Westin quality, I'm sure they are equal or better than OE. I would be more concerned about looks; if you put chrome step bars on there I will personally come up to Canada and kill you. No smiley there. Do you even need step bars? If I were you I would pick up another set of OEM.
  22. Hmmm...the gravel road could have knocked a sensor loose but that's just a wild and probably wrong guess. I don't think the last time you got your brakes done has anything to do with it. I don't even know where to start with this one, other than to tell you that you were correct in checking fluid level first. VERY IMPORTANT. Make doublely sure that the fluid is the correct level.
  23. Welcome! You're the second Chattanooga guy here in a few weeks...very strange. I went to Baylor for high school if you know what that is...we would go through Prentice Cooper and all over Suck Creek, Ooltewah had some fun parts too. Damn I miss Chattanooga!
  24. Welcome! More details and post pics!
