  1. Holy Crap that's awesome! I love the Prerunner look, and it looks pretty strong. Resembles a Baja Trophy Truck look. Who built it and how much did it all cost?
  2. I need to replace the front pads and fluid on the Pathfinder. I was looking on TireRack and found the Satisfied GranSport 6 Pads that seems like a nice combo of dust, quietness, and performance. I want to buy this fluid which is Dot 3 compliant and made by Brembo. Brembo Sprot.EVO 500+ The fluid comes in 500 mL bottles, but I need to know how much to buy? All the owner's manual says is "fill until it reaches the full mark" which is of absolutely no help. Has anybody been in this situation? Thanks!
  3. Well Fueler, I much appreciate your willingness to buy me that suspension, I'll be more than willing to set up an escrow service... But I just want to know if the spacers will fix that drag car look, my Xterra had that where the back was higher than the front and I hated it so much!!! So does anyone have the spacers?
  4. Ah, thanks to herm and 98silverpathy for input on the strut spacer thingys! So herm, does an OME equipped Pathfinder sit level without the spacers? My Pathfinder has a lot of weight for the back springs to carry, i.e. subwoofer, tow hitch and outside spare. I just want the truck to sit level, I couldn't care less if it has an extra 9/16" clearance on the front if the truck isn't level. The KYB struts/OME shocks looks like the most cost-effective option.
  5. Haha, looks like I'm crazy right? I was selling but made up my mind not to take a huge hit in depreciation with a new car and just put a little more $$$ to get the Pathy perfect and the way I like it. Believe it or not, the stock suspension isn't cushy anymore becuase it has sagged so much it's at the end of its travel! The ride is awful and tons of body roll and tons of brake dive! Thanks for the info on the Warn hubs, glad to see I can get the $$$ first. When I went to Rocky Road website, I have a few questions that maybe this crew can answer. First off, my truck is a 1999.5 but was built in 1/99. The Rocky Road website suggests that the new suspensions are for Pathfinders 2/99 and up. I hope that was just a mistake on their part and that it should be 1/99. Second off, they do still sell OME struts, but it's a little rich at $720+shipping. Their only options are medium and comfort. I thought their was also a heavy-duty package? It looks like I'll go with the OME as of now, especially considering their reputation for super-high quality. If it's a lot cheaper to not buy the OME struts I'll probably go with Flyer's setup with KYB front struts. Thanks!
  6. Hehe, sorry to clutter up the board, but as of now I'm keeping the R50 and putting a lift on it and will be using any Grandma money in the future for a down payment on a house out of college, a much better choice. Thanks and happy trails!
  7. Warn hubs will come in May. Don't have the $$$ for that now. Forgot to add, I will be paying my backwoods mechanic to install this stuff, is there anything special like extra washers needed with a certain package? Any fabrication necessary? Does the mechanic or the alignment shop install the camber adjustment kit? :help:
  8. Instead of getting a digital camera the Pathfinder is getting the royal treatment. After 103k miles of towing and general neglect, the completely shot suspension is getting replaced. Instead of replacing stock with stock, I want to kill two birds with one stone and put in a mild lift. The truck is not a big offroader, but will occasionally go wheeling once I get skids and tires. I just want good quality, I hate it when stuff breaks. I like a firm, controlled ride, but not buckboard stiff. Which suspension package should I go for? I think that the 9000x is overkill for me, but I do occasionally need to fit 12 hot chicks in the truck. I'm leaning towards the AC/Rancho/5000 package simply for the low price and uniformity of brands.
  9. I know one of the off-road mags tested the 01 5-speed and it won 4wheeler of the year. Try either Petersens or 4Wheel and Off-Road, but I'm not sure if they list weight distribution on there.
  10. HAHA, I don't know if you are serious or what but that's pretty damn funny!
  11. Yeah, I know 100k is nothing. The person who buys my truck will be getting one hell of a truck, as the mechanicals are taken care of but all they need to decide sooner or later is what suspension they want and what tires they want. Not to sound cocky or anything, but Grandma is pretty damn wealthy (has a new Hemi Grand Cherokee and Lexus GX470) so she likes SUVs that are new and have some balls in the engine compartment. This is my only chance to have her chip in a substantial amount of $$$ so I'll gladly take it. The next hurdle is comprehensive insurance but thats gonna be so expensive! If I can't afford the insurance, I may be driving the Pathfinder for a couple of years longer, not a bad thing at all! Filthy, if someone offered you say 10 grand, you would take it too. sly
  12. Go with OME springs. As for shocks/struts, I say KYB or OME struts up from and OME or Rancho RS900x out back. The Rancho shocks are adjustable for stiffness and would probably fare well with towing.
  13. I'm selling the Pathfinder to get something new or a year old with a warranty, something I can keep around 5 years until I can afford to buy a new car by myself. My grandmother, upon finding out how many miles my car has and the fact that I only have liability insurance because my GF wrecked my last freaked out and wants me to sell it. I have a bunch of prospective vehicles that I'm looking at, but on the list is the 2005-2006 Pathfinder. I've driven my friends 2005 LE and wheeled it once. It's damn quick, too. There is pretty much no chance that I would get it, but since I want a sports car but the insurance is high and Grandma doesn't approve, I may need sensible shoes transportation, and the Pathfinder would fit the bill nicely. Any thoughts? Just putting it out there so this forum gets some action.
  14. 1999.5 For Sale Sorry, couldn't help myself. Shipping could be arranged...
  15. Nice! I did it and it's all cleaned out! Thanks for the repiles! -bounce-
  16. Merry F'in Christmas! Happy New Years! Don't drive drunk!
  17. Umm, is it just me or did he register just to show us how hackable the site is...not that it really matters to me. If you really do have a Pathfinder, please introduce yourself in the "New Members Start Here" section. Thanks!
  18. Yup, I called it...most of these bulbs are hype. I have a variation of the Philips bulbs...the Vision Plus bulbs that I bought from PowerBulbs in the UK. I bought them not as much for the increased output, if any, but I prefer the subtle apperance change and I like the more white light on the road. I've always been the one saying Silverstars are crap, and it looks like this test proves it again. While I still don't think CR knows jack about cars, I applaud them on performing this test. Interesting to see how bad the GE did in the Camry, but it was at the top with the Sebring and Ridgeline. I can't think of a logical reason why the Camry's headlights suck so bad. Wattage? Poor reflector design? I fear for the geriatrics driving that car at night, old people already can't see well in the dark! I really wish they would test a set of HID retrofits, i.e. what 05thumpinpathy has. I find those extremely distracting at night, and was curious if a set of retrofit projectors would help out with the beam pattern. Looking at the responses, interesting to see another member pissed with the PIAAs' short life and average performance.
  19. Well, just to shout out some ideas, you know when you get in your truck at night and you can't really see anything inside, only the dome light is on? When I had a 4Runner that was the case, come to think of it the Pathfinder is the same, so we added some footwell lighting. I forget what wire he tapped into, but footwell lighting is a nice touch that ladyfriends especially will appreciate!
  20. During my Christmas break I have been trying, albeit unsucessfully, to fix everything wrong on the Pathfnder. One problem is the center dome light, the one above the center console between the front seats. Inside the lamp cover is some sort of debris and possibly a dead spider! (Yes, I have had spiders repel down from the headliner while driving! I swerved across two lanes on the freeway it freaked me out so bad!!! :X How do I remove the light to clean it out and maybe change the bulb? I don't want to break anything. Do I just pry it out with a small flathead screwdriver?
  21. Damn, I never thought of starting it in reverse...it may have caught. I was just worried that I was going to break something, plus my helpers weren't strong enough to really get it going.
  22. I know that, at least for Jeeps, there are custom bumpers with a reciever built in. Also Google "Hidden Hitch", that may be of some help.
  23. I'd just do that junkyard tranny. No clue if the price is on par, but it doesn't sound unresonable. While I could give you no definitive answer, there is no reason why your transfer case should not bolt up to the new tranny. Once you get the tranny on be sure to install a tranny cooler.
  24. Hmm, that noise could be a multitude of things. I will tell you, my friend had a 1997 Jeep that whenever he started it, there would be a weird metallic noise. All it was was the starter spinning, but it was abnormal My truck has a bad A/C idler pulley that makes a really really annoying constant metallic noise. But then again, it's silent. I honestly don't know, just throwing things out there.
  25. God, so true. All of the SUV marketing has shown the new SUVs tearing through the trails at ridiculous speeds. Nissan is guilty, showing the new Xterra and Armada. Either they would break something or break their truck in a crash. Idiots. What happened to Tread Lightly?
