i actually had to jack mine up today to check to see if i had LSD... $24 dollars for a floor jack and two stands...really shows when you gotta lift a car from the rear diff.... I had to use a big steel clamp (steel rod basically) cause i couldn't get enough leverage w/ the actual handle.... I may just use this idea :-)

see, my primary offroad park is a 30 minute drive, plus, i have a garage with rafters...easy cheesy hanging of doors, just some rope and another guy or i can just store it there w/o doors who knows

yeah, that was the other idea i was having.....just have some sort of attachment for tube doors..... The big factor here for me, is $$$$....and although i haven't asked for prices, i can tell they will be atleast 200 for tube doors

i mean, they were going to just kick the back window out onto the ground.....thats glass all over what ill assume is a trail or offroad area I personally don't want a flat on a trail due to some idiots bashing out a window on purpose w/o cleaning it up

Im mostly looking at it for the purpose of- #1 being able to see more, specifically the position of my front wheels #2 not having to worry about atleast the drivers doors being damaged #3 More protection from debris than tubes #4 Customizable, thinking about having a plexiglass window or similar setup on the lower half to increase visibility Who knows....maybe this summer :-)

I know!? they even put a nice treaded tire....that can't be used for more than a short drive to a phone frustrating, but i have a line on a full set of toyota 6 lug, 15x6, for 40 bucks

Mine is on a nonchrome rim and on it sits a bridgestone tire (with pretty nice tread design...better than any tire ive owned) and it says in BIG letters, TEMPORARY USE ONLY DO NOT EXCEED 50MPH.....and the size is 215/75/15 i think if i walk into a place with a temp spare and a full size tire, they prly won't mount it :S

Thats a matter of opinion... a little ova 400 for a set of good highway AND lightoffroad tires, that will last FOREVER and are VERY available....and that 400 is assuming you can't get any deals.. If your looking for REALLY cheap, the kr21 have never gotten me stuck in my malibu, and id imagine with 4wd and bigger tires it will NEVER get stuck....ive driven through a foot of snow or more, and plenty of 4"+ of mud with mine, in a fwd car....pretty impressive to me, considering it weighs nearly as much as the pathy..those are under 70 for a tire

oh, i don't, i sunk like a LOG.....but i hit it hard enough that i just kept goin and of course, it always looks bigger when your adrenaline is going, so it was prly less than three, most likely around two

The spare says 215/75/15, and i measured the width from the furthest outer points, and i got 6.5 And i put it up to the chromie, and it looks almost the exact same, but its not chrome, its the same design in a nonchrome metal thing note, that the spare says do not go over 50mph and its only a temp spare

I hate to bring this back from the dead, but its either this or start a new one... I got out my spare and measured it today, and its a 215 75 15 on a 15x6.5(i measured from furthest point to furthest point, so its prly only 6") But will this warrant use of it as a full size spare rim? j/w...sorry

i just took my michelin ltx to some hefty offroad today.... They went through 3 feet of thick, nasty mud, and although i thought i would get stuck, they kept pulling and pulling Still the NUMBER ONE tire for majority onroad use in my book

my 91 idles around 1200 always too... O_o

as far as fitting on legos, from what i know, it shouldn't make a difference between the two, but idk if legos/chromes are the same sizes As far as the size of the tire, its really worth it to get the ltx m/s and take a smaller size...they are just that good

AND its only fwd I have never gotten stuck in that, they are REALLY hard to rip loose, (can still do it) but they get AMAZING traction, ive driven on a road with 1/2" to 1" of water going 45 and not lost control, and they perform great for highway/street, they don't have an aggressive tread, but hey, if your not gonna wheel with em, these are cheap, and GREAT for street

Idk if this will help, but recently i repainted my tire carrier, and while sis was backing out pathy, she ran over spray can, and it sprayed all over driveway, so this is what i did Used Denature Alcohol all over it (prly about half a can) Orange oven cleaner paint thinner pb blaster (this worked wonders) hose Got it all out, even the soaked stuff with some scrubbing from broom... Otherwise, try the kitty litter, we have been using that for years and it works pretty good

on my trip to silver lake (55-65 three hour drive) i got 150 miles from a 1/4 tank.... somewhere near 16 gallon tank but then on the dunes i used a 1/4 to go 33 miles :S I just did the math, and i think my gas gauge is off...LOL I think we calc'd it when i filled up b4 the dunes...and it was around 26 mpg highway Pretty good for a 91

so if you put two over the back doors, will that be too close to support the roof basket? cause I'd like to have it set back, above the cargo area as far as possible :\

So I have a brand new yakima load warrior OR mega warrior, @ 50% off, and im probably gonna go grab the load warrior before it sells....But i gots a q I don't have a factory rack, and my ma is completely against drilling through the roof, so i can't install a junkyard rack...so im probably gonna have to find a yakima qtower setup, but won't these have to attach via the doors? and then will my rack have to be shifted all the way forward above the drivers area? Or is there another option/setup that will set it back where the factory rack will be? Thanks!
