  1. the only way it's gonna chirp is to have a remote
  2. did you try unlocking the door, opening the door and just wait for 30 seconds?
  3. you can get a aftermarket remote from keylessride.com, but I would wait until you get it working. change that fuse, when u lock the door and shut it the red LED should start blinking
  4. yep mine works without the remote, box is under the drivers seat
  5. mine has a siren under the hood, and the horn honks too
  6. it should turn on auto after u lock the door and shut it, takes 30 seconds. then when you open the door with a key you have 30 seconds to turn on the ignition. The light should blink though if it's not ?
  7. thats factory, looks just like mine the words have worn off. If it's not working check you're connections
  8. i got an aftermarket one at keylessride.com or something like that, google it, and it has held up better than the 2 nissan ones I had, cheaper too IIRC
  9. why did 88 run new cable to the battery?
  10. I'd go with starter, I just replaced mine last weekend and it's really not bad, as easy if not easier than the alt IMO. Let me know if you need some pointers
  11. IIRC there are vertical screws at the bottom of the grill?? I've done it so many times I should have it memorized. THe gasket is actually on the lamp itself not the headlight assembly. I took the assembly out, dried all the water out with a hair dryer and used clear silicone sealant around the edge where the glass meets the assembly. I've had to do it two times since '99, beats buying a new assembly
  12. alright disregard, I took that bolt off and it's all good, it was just some oil in that hole from my slight oil leak. It freaked me out at first cuz I thought I had the wrong bolt and tranny fluid was comin out. So I will continue on, Thanks for all the help B
  13. is there a reason why when I loosen that bolt that you show for the bottom mount bolt B that it starts leaking fluid??????
  14. it is certainly possible that I'm looking at the wrong bolt but I have thoroughly searched and it seems that its the only one possible, here's a pic http://s889.photobucket.com/albums/ac93/agwheat/?action=view&current=Bolt.jpg
  15. it threads into both the bell housing and the starter as far as I can tell
  16. OK here's the best pic I could get in that enormous amount of space under there, can't photo the starter side of the bolt, there's just too much space for my head & camera but i can feel that there is no bolt head on that side Well crap apparently I can't upload my photo, haven't kept up with all the new rules and changes for uploading foto's
  17. well the bolt goes through the bell housing of the tranny and through the mount hole on the starter, there is no head on either side
  18. alright the lower mount bolt has lost its head, how do I extract a bolt that has no head???????????
  19. I'll assume that if i loosen a bolt and tranny fluid comes thats not good? cuz the bolt that ligns up with the lower mount bolt leaks tranyy if I loosen it WTF?
  20. Bought mine fresh out of college, 1st time I could actually afford to buy anything. I knew I wanted 4 wheel drive and not really big into trucks, I like something I can sleep in if I have to. I saw an add at a lot for something I don't even remember what it was but it was supposedly 4WD. When I went to look it was a 2WD and I said no-way. The sales dude said he had a 4WD PF still in the service shop being cleaned up, traded in the day earlier. I took it for a test drive and bought it. That was in 1999 with 80,000 miles and have had it ever since with no plans of getting rid of her. She left me stranded only once, when the tranny died suddenly with no signs at all of impending doom.
  21. mine does not seem to be on with the bolt heads accessible from the front
  22. anyone have a pic or can tell me where these mount bolts are? my tranny was rebuilt 2 years ago and I have a theory that they put the bolts in backwards
  23. I'll let you know if I ever get the SOB out
