  1. External combustion engine, see the flame on the outside?
  2. My 93 idles around 700 and usually gets up to just under halway on the temp gauge year round (any higher and my elec. fan kicks on).
  3. Actually it depends on build date and yes 93 is the oddball year that the change was made from the squares to the rounds. Mine is a pre switch, but I forget the cut off date. When I did mine I bought both, then just returned the round one when I found it wasn't right.
  4. So that is what mine looked like new.....
  5. I would say either the UCA lost a shim (or 5) and is no longer in spec, or one of the BJs went bad.
  6. Yeah, the one nut that is tucked up behind was fun, got it going completely by feel.
  7. I took mine off my 93 for a bit, but put them back on and think I like it better with them since it is lifted (looks like less gap above the tires). With my 88 and no lift (and half chopped fenders) I go without.
  8. Eric (Mr. Reverse on AC) just posted up a similar issue that he had to fix, wasn't his or his shops fault, but he gets to do the repair on it. http://www.4x4parts.com/ubbthreads/showfla...ge=0#Post590086
  9. Same as a 93. As for what all needs to be removed, just the hose and the idler assembly (if you have a good set of swivel sockets ).
  10. They are a PITA on a WD also, have to pull the entire thing apart on the fronts.
  11. 2 guys in NOAS are in the process of using those in their builds, Tuff and Richard: http://www.noas4x4club.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=22 (May need to register on the forum to view the topics.)
  12. The push button type have a servo that runs the damper IIRC, maybe a blown fuse or bad servo?
  13. For the long ones, they tend to not work going across the carrier, too wide. You can mount it upright, but it will grab every low branch. Best location is on the side of a roof top basket if you have one, or on the rack if you have one.
  14. I know a couple Hardbody guys have gone all aftermarket gauges, search on AC for posts about it. I know "Yotah8r" did it to his, can't remember the other guy.
  15. I have an AC brace on both of my trucks, both fit just fine.
  16. Yeah, I thought I would be smart and remove my PS belt until I could replace/repair the hose so I wouldn't run the pump dry and burn it up. Couldn't even turn out of the driveway! Went to the J-yard that day to get another one.
  17. You would be amazed at the amount of traction those little nubs can give you on ice.
  18. Yep, best mechanic I ever knew worked out of his own garage at his house. He could do anything and everything with anything mechanical. But, you could barely manuver through his "shop" because of all the gadgets, projects, tools, ect. everywhere. He had been a coal mine mechanic (retired) who HAD to be able to fix things in the mine, usually without using pre-made spare parts (ie, he had to fabricate stuff from scratch).
  19. Yep, ATF, though normal Power Steering fluid will work, I wouldn't run it on that for long (I used it once when I was bleeding all over with the leak).
