I haven't seen much on the forum for people replacing their headlights with LED's, so I thought I might show mine off. Just put them in tonight, and they put my old halogens to shame.

Essentially yes & yes. If they are not DOT street legal approved you can always get a ticket if a police officer investigates. That said, they rarely do. However, for on road use, it is in your and others best interest not to blind oncoming traffic. A head on because a driver couldn’t see would be bad for everybody & a post accident analysis would likely label you as at least partially, if not entirely, liable-particularly if the other driver is alive to testify that your lights blinded him. (BTW, tinted tailights pose similar, if less lethal, risks). Best way to compare is to put your halogens in one lens & the LED in the other then park on level ground against a large blank wall at night. This is the method I used to arrange my auxiliary light setup. Some have found significant difference in light projection by rotating the LED 90* so that the 2 LEDs (if it’s that style) are in horizontal vs vertical orientation. Also, be aware that some LEDs do not warm the light housing enough to melt off snow & ice in cold climes.

I guess so, but they have a pretty good warranty and reviews. Direct plug in play (comes with all necessary adapters and wiring). Only thing I had to do was widen the hole of the rubber boot that goes on the backside of the housing, and fiddle with those metal clips a little

They are “lumen” lights off of carid.com.

Neither of those are 33’s, though 275 and 265 by themselves don’t tell you anything about the diameter, only width. The need to trim is also dependent on the wheel offset.

Looks great! One concern I have is that at times they blind me with on coming traffic. Is that because people don't install them correctly and they point up too much? Are there any laws in regard to angles and brightness? Just curious.... Thanks, Tomek

By the "at full droop" question I believe he was wondering if the CV's bind when the suspension is completely unloaded; for example when you lift a wheel offroading. I am intrigued by the camber bolts possibly being exclusive to 2005 thing too, when I'm at the junkyard from now on I'll take a peek at any R51's they may have and report back with my findings, or heck, any one I see in a parking lot. I wonder (if the 2005 thing is true), if you can just slap the parts onto a different model year to get OEM adjustability?

I made one for this style factory roof rack and its been an amazing addition.

I drove a Tesla a few weeks back and tested out the self driving mode. It is freaky and so odd to not be driving but sitting behind the wheel. I won't say that is would be very cool on boring interstate trips from one city to the other. I love driving, but long boring interstate drives suck. I couldn't find the one for a 1998 QX4/Pathfinder. I think it is standard and there have always been basic and advanced. My 1973 Ford originally had a speedo, fuel gauge, and a temp gauge. However, there was an option for a rally gauge kit that had everything that I switched to. A car that's like a living room, you mean a Lexus?

I used a machanical oil gauge. Ran the oil line through the firewall where the clutch/slave master cylinder would go on the manual r50 into a T fitting I installed where the factory oil sending goes. I removed the oil sending unit and inserted the T fitting in its place. I wanted to use a T fitting that way I could still have the factory oil dumby light. Hook your oil line up to one side and the factory oil sending unit into the other. Walla! Mr Cox 96R50-97JR50

Are you kidding. We are reasonably likely to see autonomous cars that look like living rooms inside in our lifetime. I’m not against it. The AIs will likely be better drivers than most people. Just as long as they leave room for those of us who have an interest. We’re already niche anyway!

A full length custom roof rack would be cool!

I've been using this as an on board computer and it provides some gauges. I think what I will do is find an old iPhone and a method to mount for long term. They don't come on automatically, but works well.

It’s not always terrible. I once tuned into a truckers’ convo while stuck in traffic on the freeway in eastern AZ, and one trucker was adamant that people get fecal matter in their ears because they use their phones in the restroom. That was worth its weight in gold, and all thanks to having a CB.
