Damn you mentioned just about every MPG maintenance that I could readily think of. As far as the 31" tires, they will impact the MPG, not just because of the extra centrifugal weight, but primarily because your speedometer/odometer will be slightly off. I'd guess that your measured MPG is off by around 10% just because of the incorrect speedometer. Heres a calc, mycomp is too slow so play with it and see what the #'s are http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html The speedo and odometer get their info from the speed sensor gear in the transmission, which is geared to be correct with 29" or 30" whatever stock is.... So with a 10% correction factor, 14.44 off the Nissan odometer is in reality closer to 16 mpg Using GPS to track your mileage rather than the nissan odo, you'd see the real results.

AC Delco???? Thats weird. They sell it for $9 a quart. I don't have an LSD, but the bottle says it is compatible with LSD. I purchased the fluid at a normal auto parts store and the same exact stuff was $3 a bottle, versus $9/bottle at the dealer. I forgot the exact weight but i can go look at a bottle. I think it was like 75w90 or so.

I was considering the Nissan LSD... can you elaborate as to what the LSD actually does if it doesn't help in high bias traction conditions??

I haven't used one, but it looks like a cheap knock-off of the original Nissan exhaust. That one is crush bent - the OEM one has mandrel bends which flow much more smoothly and make for less noise.

I am running Nankang Mudstar's They are still noisy like a regular mud tire, much noisier than the BFG AT i last had. But i'd like to mention them, as the tread life is excellent on these! I put over 30k on my last set, and they still had around 35% tread left when I ditched them! They do great in mud and snow, but dig down too easily on soft sand like in Baja. I want to get a wide set of BFG AT's for my Baja trips.

yeah i didnt know you have to undo the battery when you mess with the airbags, i did mine with all the power hooked up. it wasnt until I started searching for the SRS light process until i read somebody saying that you should always undo the battery or you risk detonating the air bag even if it detonated, i'd be OK, i was crouched down by my side rails and floorboard when I hooked it up, i dont mess around with explosives in my face

No, its a great thing! It prevents sticky throttle body which is a common problem in our VG33's! The problem is dealing with legal shizz - you will not pass CA smog check with that tube modified.... And what kind of emissions can come from crankcase ventilation anyways? My guess is close to nothing - especially when compared to exhaust!

The only reason that hose is connected to the intake is for federal emissions compliance.... there can be no open crankcase ventilation - it all must be rerouted into the intake, burned, and come out the exhaust. If you don't have to deal with CARB or smog, I would reroute that with a longer hose from the valve cover, pointing to the ground with just an open end....and plug it at the intake. It will keep your throttle body super clean. My friend did that to his full-drag honda prelude - worked great but he got kicked out of carlsbad raceway for spitting oil all over the track when hitting 10k rpm, officials were like WTF $1200 header for the win

You just take apart the airbag and wheel assembly.... you need one of those special "torx" screwdrivers..... and undo the battery when you pull off the airbag ribbon cable.... When all is reinstalled, you will have a SRS (airbag) failure light - the dealer can reset this for $400 *or* do it yourself in 5 seconds How to reset SRS(air bag) light: Open the driver's door. Note the rubber covered button located low on the B pillar, a button which is pressed by the door when the door is closed. This is the Driver's Door Switch (DDS). Turn the ignition from OFF to ON. Press the DDS at least 5 times within 7 seconds after turning the ignition switch ON. Turn the ignition OFF. Close the driver's door. Start the engine. If the airbag warning lamp is still on (or still flashing), there is a fault in the Su the dealer makes $400 to check all your sensors and then to do the 5 second reset process. What a deal!

Ya I feel ya. And thanks for the honest opinions, I want to see what others think.... As far as the offroading goes.... I love to offroad in luxury.... My dream car (hopefully next) is a Lexus LX450 4x4, landcruiser in a tuxedo

I feel that it IS related to offroading.... Most offroaders i know prefer keeping it barebones and grassroots.... dedicated offroading dash with gadgets and devices, an inch of dirt on the dash, dirt all over the controls.... I have OCD in the form that, after I go offroading, usually my QX4 will get detailed the first chance I get to return to the city. I especially can't stand any dirt or dust on my interior. I like to cruise to work in the morning with the windows up, a cup of coffee, and some spanish guitar playing. It is my quiet place of solitude where I can relax, forget about everything else, and little things like electronic controls, wood grain accents, make for a nice ambience for me to relax in! Am I crazy?

hahaha wow... no that shouldn't be in there.... but not a bad idea, it would still let the air ventilate but wouldn't allow large drops of oil to get sucked in your intake... i'd be scared of having little pieces of brass wire fall into the heads....

yeah, i pretty much expect that response from all the dedicated off-roaders... It just isn't an offroading wheel... but my QX4 spends 95% of its time on San Diego city streets, so it's a comfortable match for me.

Finally replaced the stock leather one - the leather was starting to rub off in some spots and it was really uncomfortable to hold So i replaced the wheel with a wood grain one, but still retained the stock airbag tell me what you think! It matches all the other fake wood doesn't it?
