well, our pathies aer 1996-2004. You have a 2000, so i would asume you should stay with 1999.5-2004 for parts with the body and stuff. wheels are the same for all years. There are 2 engines - VG33 and VQ35. I don't remember where this change took place, but someone else will tell.
-
Yea, those are NOT SE wheels,a dn i doubt 265/70-15 tires will fit. Those came with 235/75-15 like you have now.

Updates on this?

OK, so I went wheeling a few weeks ago (to say bye to my old bald tires, haha). While wheeling, I hit a good size rock, followed by a nice hole. Nothing happened to my ride or anything. Over the next couple weeks, I noticed that once in a while my suspension "pops" when turning the steering wheel. OK, so when I changed out my tires, I took a look, and noticed that my spring was crooked. It's sitting on the outside edge of the strut. The part the curves up, it's on top of that! And the other side is not even sitting right!! Has this happened to any of you? I'll post up a picture when I get a chance. This is crazy! *will be fixed soon* Jose

Max tire size VS Lift Kit Used VS Custom or OE Wheels
180sx replied to fleurys's topic in R50 FAQ's & Pinned Topics
Update: just swapped my BFG for Goodyear AT/S tires. Same size: 31x10.50-15. Tires are not new, but I got all 4 for $120. I'd say they got a year left on them. I noticed that these, even though they are worn pretty good, have about 1/4" less clearance then my BFG's did. They still don't rub, so far, but it's something to note on, I guess. Also, when I measured my friends tires, they were all different. these are all new. He had a 33" that measured 31.5" some 35" that measured 34" and 33.5" a 38" that measured 36" and a 44" that measured 42" These are all different brands, by the way. When I talked to some tire shop guys, they all said that no tire comes the same size from different manufacturers. Weird... -
reason i say driveshaft is because the vibrations over time can wear anything out. Check it out.
-
Those wheels look good! I was wondering how they would look on a pathy the same color as mine! Sorry to thread jack.
-
maybe your driveshaft is, for some odd reason, off balanced? Did they check the transfer case also (don't know if this would be involved).

Just finished my AC lift - topping out question...
180sx replied to willray80's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
Young sir, you have much to learn...haha, just kidding. Well, if you just put them on, then you must wait for them to settle down. May take a couple weeks to get it, but they will. Thats for any new suspension. Jose -
Thats different. I always read that the OME are of higher quality and tend to sag LESS and LATER than the AC coils. Just better quality (see higher price) than the AC coils.

Meth? What is meth? like the il...um...yea...

Definately want to see some pics of this!

Well, from reading this, it seems like it ran after it came out of the water, but didn't start again next time he went to start it (am I right?). If this is the case, and it clicks, it could be that a good amount of derbris couold have gotten in, and the little metal thing that pushes the starter gear to the flywheel could have broke. OR you could have a broke bearing. I put money on this. Happened to me before in my old Accord, and i just replaced the bearing (with a skateboard wheel bearing at that!) and it worked fine again. Sooooo, your best bet is to remove the starter and take a look inside!

More R50 Badassness! Tyler...look out...It's a race to the finish line now...haha. Just joking....Maybe.

Sooo....any more progress, or are we going to teased till our balls turn blue? Haha, joking...Gosh! Can't wait to see how this tube front end is going to turn out. -
Haha, I just posted in the VG33E Mods thread asking you about if you found any info on this! I was thinking about the turbo's mentioned, and have a thought. Diesel turbos are made MUCH different then gas turbos. Like, if you take a diesel turbo and slap it on a gas motor, it takes WAY longer for the gas engine to spool it. Example: We took a diesel turbo from a 2.0 Jetta TDI and slapped it on a KA24DE in a 240. The TDI made full boost at like 2100 RPM, while the KA24 made the same at 4500 RPM. If you slap a gas turbo on a diesel, I'd imagine boost being made at like 900 rpm!! And then you just lose efficiency past 2000 rpm. I could be wrong, but I thought I'd throw it out there as food for thought. And I doubt there is a stock intercooler on the QD32. If not, then an intercooler out of an old turbo volvo would work great! they have alot of surface area, and are skinny enough to fit right in front of the radiator! Of course, there's always the chance of damage, but not likely. Another option to look at. Jose

None at all. So it's agreed, then. This engine is worthless to mod unless its supercharged, right? Or are we just leaving it at better left stock? Oh, hey tekaz, any luck on finding a diesel? I was looking at an old International Scout the other day, I think it was an '80, and it had a Nissan turbodiesel in it, mechanically injected; I think he said 6-33 was the motors name. Guy said that it was the only year the Scouts came with them. Something like 100hp and 175lb-ft of tourqe. Not much or relevent, but it still caught me that Nissan had diesels in passenger vehicles here at all. Jose

Thanks for the info everyone. I looked underneath and everything seems straight. I know I need an alignment, thats for sure. Hell, my whole suspension needs an over haul. 3 blown shocks and one is new becuase the stock one boke the top nut off in a wheeling incident. Haven't had it aligned since I replaced it (I know, could be the source of my problem right there). ALL my bushings are sh!t and the rear lowers look like they could just slide around! And my tires are wearing uneven, first sign of alignment issue right there. But I'v been trying to save up for the new suspension before I get it aligned...oh well, better do it now before something bad happens...DAMN IT ALL! At least now I know why my steering wheel is crooked. Never thought it could've been because of bad alignment, though. Thanks again. Jose

All good points except the TBI part. Well, guess good for you, but we don't have TBI....haha. Just increasing to get 3.6L would be best, and adding a little compression with some high dome pistons would help with some power. Doing a port and polish on the intake side, and just smoothing and polishing the exhaust side would prove the best we could do for power. Well, with some 'street tune' cams and springs made for a Z31 would be the last of it. Something thats doesn't make power up high, but makes the most down low, you know? Throw on some Xterra headers, with a 1.75" exhaust into a 2-1 muffler with 2" out would prove best. Add an MSD ignition and a good tune with an Apex'i Power FC and a wide band O2 sensor on the dyno and i'm sure that at least 60lb-ft and 30HP can be achieved.

OK, so when I got my pathy, the wheel was straight. Then after going off-road a few times, my steering wheel is not centered when the truck is going straight. How would you fix this? I haven't had time to actually look, but could i disconect the steering shaft and turn the wheel staright and hope when I connect it back its straigh again? Or could this be an even more serious issue with my steering? Thanks in advance. Jose

VG40E? bad ass. The problem I see with that is the rod ratio being too high (or maybe its low...hmmm...I need to catch up on my studies...) and would have some serious consequnce at higher RPM's.
-
Yea, that's what I was thinking. Everything is the same. How is the displacement upped on our 3.3's? Is it stroke or bore or a combo of the two? Hmmm...I do need to go to the junk yard, maybe we'll have a look...
-
Hahaha...Bacon vision. thats funny. would be even more so if you could actually clikc the links with it...haha.

Couldn't be sure. I would assume that they are all the same all around, but that again is an assumption. I havn't seen any lug nuts differ from front to back before. But this site makes me wonder also, since this says it's for the front, and theres no option for a 'rear' stud. Like I said, i would assume they are all the same, and I'm sure someone will chime in soon to verify or clarify this. http://www.redlinemotive.com/store/replace...part=Wheel+Stud
