the engine light turned on for no reason one day and i pulled over and checked it but everything seemed normal. so i drove it for a few more weeks untill i found time to go to AUTOZONE and get it checked out. The punk kid from autozone didnt belive i had a plug under there. but sure enough it was there and he plugged his @!*% into there and came up with a bad o2 sensor and a bad knock sensor. im not to worried about it. but i would like to turn the engine light off. where is the knock sensor?

i thought they were bolts connecting the flange together but it looks like its a stud welded on to it. anyways i cut it off and ground down both ends and it still doesnt want to pop out. i got some stainless steel bolts and nuts i wanna use. but it unscrewed okay on the drivers side. so i geuss im just gonna have to drill that bastard out. do u think i should use washers on the nuts? the hole sizes are a little different. and does any one have a picture of how this hanger is supoused to be?flange pic muffler hanger pic?

not sure if it was ever done in my pathfinder its got 120k miles now. i bought it with about 80k. i heard u shuld replace it at 100,000 but it seems to be okay. well i was wondering if it broke on the road would that fskc up my engine. or would it have to just slip and grab again to ruin it. how big of a job is it to do? how long can they go for?

so i geuss i got a 96 XE with chrome rims and 235-75-15's. everrything is stock. what o0ther tires fit on these wheels. i want more lift. but 235 75 15 are affordable so ill prally just get those. 420

i dont see many people with wheels like mine. whats the biggest tire i can fit on these? stock suspension no lift

my wheels are stock crome steel. 96 se. right now i have 235 75 15's. what size tires will fit with no problems? i would like it to be off the ground a little more. does any one run 265 70 15? i dont have a lift or any mods

i changed my thermostat a while back and a couple days after that there is a loud whining squeling noise coming from one of the pulleys i think. i tightened and loosened the front two belts just playing around to see if it would go away. testing to see if it would do anything but it wont go away. weird thing is that it only does it at idle when the engine is warmed up. when its cold and i start it, it's fine. until it gets warmed up a bit. after its warmed up and its idleing and whining i give it just a little bit of gas and it goes away. anyone know what it could be? and last week i was driving on the lake and there was like 3 inches of water on top of the ice. i drove like 5 miles through the water at like 15-20 mph and after a bout 4 miles the check engine light came on. nothing looked wrong. i figured it would dry up and the light would turn off. but its been on since then. ill have auto zone check it out pretty soon but any one have any idea's? its a 96 pathfinder se

i wonder if mine has lsd. how do i tell with out spinning the tires on ice or what not. its a 96 se 4x4. i thought i had it. but i got stuck doing donuts in the snow and the driver side rear wheel spun when i was trying to get out. which one is supposed to spin if its regular

i heard that you should never change the tranny fluid if u buy a used car cuz itll fskc it up. unless u know it has been changed regularly. but i checked the level with the engine on after driving a mile and it was on the cold marks on the stick. and i think they only had one kind of t stat at advanced auto. dont know what the temp was, but i know it worked alot better than the one that was in there. that was a real nissan one. and i think the bag is on the end of the cooler. so the fluid is alot cooler by the time it makes it to that half. and its always cold here so it wont melt. its easy to put in and remove if i drive in the around city alot

ive been putting a grocery bag over half of the transmisson cooler and it seems to help. i just hope that it wont get too hot now and fskc up my transmisson. is there some kind of t-stat or valve on the tranny radiator? or does it just keep pumping it through? im pretty sure there was some kind of warning lite if it overheats. in case u tow alot. which half of the engine radiator is better to block? drivers side or passenger. i did passenger cuz the hose is at the top so i figured that i'd let the antifreeze cool a little first from the bottom hose (driver side).

i got a 96 pathfinder 3.3 L , auto trasmission . and i just changed the thermostat a month ago. it was stuck open i figured because it didnt put out much heat. and wouldnt shift into 4th gear unless it was really warmed up. it was a bitch to change the t-stat in this thing. when cruising at 60 mph in overdrive and my heater at med when its 20 degrees F it will drop gears and be at a higher RPM trying to warm it up again. not really like before tho. the heater seems to be warmer than before it had this problem. so i was thinking maybe the tranny cooler. but i dont really know much about that @!*%. if i start my car in the morning on a below zero day and immediatly hop on the highway and do 70 mph with no heater on; how long is it supossed to take till i can get into 4th? mine would probably take 10-12 miles at 3500 rpms somewheere round that. how can i fix this. and i get alot of ice on the inside of my windsheild some times in the morning. and my power windows always get frozen and wont open even when it hasnt snowed or rained.
