Thanks Ty! And thats what this is all about. Learning. I mean we know for the most part what we can do to our R50's. Now I want to know what else we can do. What else can I improve upon? It's a journey, and hopefully the more we learn, the more people fix up, the more we can get noticed by companies and maybe get some aftermarket support, Likely? Not really, but you never know! Jose

OK, so I'm asking the good people on patrol4x4.com to see if they could help. They do have the H233B rear axle on theirs. So I'm wondering if the axle is basically the same, or if I could even do a conversion with their axle parts. I don't see why not, but I also read somewhere that their H233B's are only 31 spline (like the WD21's! AHHH!!). Hopefully not! Jose

Thats what I'm talking about! Now I must search until the end of the internet finds me... According to this site, which has parts, the Patrol 93-97 has rear discs....hmm... japanese 4x4 parts Jose

Does any one know the specs for the bearing and baffle for the 33 spline and 31 spline axles? I guess it would be important to know this before anything. Moser does not have the specs for our axles, so before I find those, I should know if we could even swap these at all, huh? Jose

I buy my OEM parts from Auburn Nissan up in Seattle. Cheaper then Courtesy (even if only by a few dollars on some parts). The clutch fan there is $102 for a new OEM unit. heres the link: Auburn Nissan - nissanparts.biz Here is courtesy asking for $115 Courtesy Nissan Jose

Are these for the 4WD or 2WD model?
-
OK. So I emailed Moser Engineering (they do all kinds of axle shafts). I'm just waiting on a reply to see what they say. Like I said, I'm just curious...Thats why. Jose

I could say the same thing about Tyler M.'s rig. Why go through the effort? The expense? WHy why why why???? SH!T! WHY NOT!?!?! Why did my GSX-R 600 make more HP than a Hayabusa (at the expense of very much needed low-end torque)? Why did my friend lift his Taco 16" (13" being suspension alone)? Why do people put lambo doors on their Ford Taurus'? Why why why? WHY NOT!! Haha, ok enough rambling. But I'm just curious, that's why. Jose

Wait..could a company custom make axle shafts? Like make it the right length, with 33 spline inner and 31 spline outers? I wonder... Jose
-
Well, considering that no one here has done this, we don't knwo much about it. I for one don't know anything at all about it. But the QX4 and pathfinder are almost identical in every way (almost). So all the drivetrain and mechanical parts are the same. Jose

Thats what I need! Haha...hmm...but I wonder how hard it would be to have something fabbed up for a conversion and use wd21 brakes? or maybe even taking some stuff off newer Nissans? Nah, guess it wouldn't be worth the trouble... Oh well... Jose

FINALLY!! GOSH DARNIT! Haha. Man, you sir, have created what R50 dreams can only imagine to be...So, what exactly do you plan on doing with this beast when you're done with it? Thats's a question...a big one... OK...the welds I looked at again, and again, and again...and, man...can I come visit so you can show me a few tips or something! Mine would NEVER look like that! (guess it would help if I had a welder of my own to practice with). Jose -
I've been searching around (maybe not hard enough?) and have found nothing on rear discs. Seems to me that our's never came with them. But what about the Frontier/Xterra? They don't seem to have rear discs either. So are we at a total loss for this? Never will we have available rear discs? Jose

Cool. Now, I am wondering about your signiture. It has a Datsun logo on it, which is wrong since your driving a Nissan. And then you say you wish you could afford a Toyota? Whats upi with that, man! Jose
-
Nice, nice, and more nice. So, honey nips, when you gonna put it to the test? Jose

2.25" piping is a bit too big...

Thats totally bad ass! Is the 2WD top mount different from the 4WD? Or is the 96-99.5/99.5-04 top mounts different? mine doesn't exactly look like that one. (that little sleev in the middle sticking out, it's not there on mine...)

You need a press for the bushings. OR, you can cut the rubber out (or burn them out if you please) then take a Sawz-all and VERY CAREFULLY cut the sleeve in half and pry it out of the arm. Then press the new ones in (get some poly bushings if you can!) I get all my Nissan parts from here: Auburn Nissan Jose

More than likely it sounds like your spherical bearing in the strut went bad. Mine was doing the same thing and the stupid strut bearing had pretty much disinigrated! Jose
-
have to agree with the above statement. These exhaust suck donkey...ears. My heat shield rattles like no tomorrow, and I'm guessing my cats were bad before because they are no longer there any more (previous owner, i assume). So don't worry about it and get the lift. Jose
-
Where did you get your roof rack from?
-
Very intresting indeed. Would work great with my exhaust setup, thats for sure. I wonder how it would sound! http://www.aeroexhaust.com/car_muffler_2525xl.html This is just what i need! Although not the turbine (which is on back-order untill who knows when. Popular!) I'm sure this would outlast a flowmaster or any other...looks bad @$$!! http://www.aeroexhaust.com/aftermarket_muffler_163.html

Is this what you are talking about? http://www.aeroexhaust.com/

Haha. Whe I asked about it I didn't know I would get a lesson. Haha. thanks for clearing that up though, Adam! Question again. Is it really worth getting the poly bushings over getting new OEM ones? Jose
