That does apply to everyone... Have you tried calling a dealership for information or a contact # ? I agree, it shouldn't be that hard to determine. Personally, I have never tried to look up that information; I have a 95XE, one out of 4 gazillion. How did you look up your other vehicles ? Out of curiosity, does Kelly blue book list your trim package ? B

I prefer stiffer suspension. Bottoming out all the time is no fun and not all that great for the truck. Then there is scenario of dropping a wheel off of a rock, bottoming out and punching a hole in your oil pan with another one. Yeah, I know, skidplates, but you get the point. Are you upgrading the torsion bars and rear springs also ??? If so, that may be stiff enough. What kind of wheeling do you generally do ? A lot of people swear by the Ranchos 9000 series but many have the 5000's. Try using the search function; there are a lot of threads about shocks that will help. B

Check the switch on the drivers side base of the handbrake under the console. If it works properly, the contact piece may have to be bent for adjustment. B

Now thats a friggin joke V6, a bad one. Did you piss the guy off or did he have some sort of quota to fill ? Stock (approved for import) is illegal ? Hopefully it was a cheap quick fix... I'm all for vehicle inspections (with in reason) as I sometimes see rattle traps around here that probably shouldn't be on the road, but on the other hand, they are usually the most cautious drivers. Guess you have to be if something might fall off... B
-
That seems like a probably to me. 88 is the only one who can do it (with the exception of the woefully absent Mr Jim). I suggest you PM him once an hour until you get a response.... Good idea about the email by the way ! B
-
Ok, lets ease up a bit... Not everyone here is rally racer, mudder or rock crawler, eh ? Yes, I ribbed him, but he has a valid question about how common the off road package is. OR, what else is in the package other than matching rim, tire carrier and LSD ?? B
-
Very nice clean truck !! I'm not sure what bragging rights you are looking for though. How does the off road package handle off road ? B
-
Damn !! You already have the answer, you just have to click on page one and scroll towards the bottom... I hope you dont bruise anything !!! I take it we are in week 2 or 3 and you still haven;t pulled 1 bolt to figure it out ?? Sheesh !! B

I always wanted to see someone get rearended with a set up like that.... B
-
So what would be the comparison be then if the percentages would be basically the same as this poll ? Hmm Mrs. Wise McButt ?? B
-
I think most everyone owns the Pathy they like. A few people stated that they voted for something other than what they own, but on the whole, I think the percentages would be about the same... B

LOL 88 *takes beer and joint away from him* I don't think you need any more... If the original bolt was M10x1.25mm 110mm long and you added a 3 inch lift (76.2mm) the required bolt would be 190mm long (200mm should work fine). "10x430x1.25" would be almost 17" long !! I highly recommend buying a cheap set of dial calipers. They can be had for $20. you can measure bolts (OD and pitch) and they have many other uses as well. Once you have them, you'll wonder how you got along without. B

I doubt dirty fluid would be the cause... Low level maybe, but probably not. Check the sensor for the ABS. It's back on the rear axle housing at the driveshaft I think. There is also recent thread something like this in the WD21 forum I believe. Try doing a search for ABS in the last month. Gabod7, there is a switch on the drivers side base of the hand brake. Check to see that it is functioning, and if it needs adjustemnt, you bend the switch plate... B
-
Hmm, rated booms !! WOW.... I'm wondering if you don't have a torn motor or tranny mount. You are torqueing or lifting the motor/tranny and when you step on the clutch, it drops back down ? Making a semi boom, or boom #3... Just a guess... Try having someone look under. Careful with that cheapo winch ! While it can help, the force required to recover a vehicle is often several times that much. We dont want you getting hurt if anything fails ! Bad recovery set ups can be very dangerous !! B
-
Are you saying you have 4 wheel disk brakes ?? B
-
Cool !! Thanks YamaDad !! I'd assume 10mm is for calipers and 7mm for wheel cylinders (drum brakes, ie rear). Yes the rear is definitely 7mm, but unless the front are relieved after the thread, they only read 8mm... Thats on my 95 with rear drum... B
-
Sorry Bud, but I couldn't find the thread pitch anywhere in Chilton's... I don't want to pull one and measure it; I just bled the brakes last weekend... Is no one in a position to do a quick measurement ? B

"Hello NPORA Member (insert member name if possible). The NPORA site has been upgraded and reorganized, making it even more pleasant and useful than before ! Stop by and check it out. Look forward to seeing you there... " *insert link* Or something like that... B
-
GRRR... so you want a different design 88 ??? Sheesh !! Actually, I could probably make a cut down version fairly simply... I just went to the large side knowing a trade secret that it is harder to put more material on then take it off... Why would you want LESS protection ? B
-
That makes sense, but I have no idea if/how easily it can be done. You'll have to wait for 88 on that. As for no one to stir up, well, you are married aren't you ? B

Still working on the tranny; using BIGGER HAMMERS
Precise1 replied to vidro's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Cool, good luck... Glad I could help. Don't rush, just git er done !! B -
Yeah, I know some people just use sheet metal screws, but I want to do a better job than that... The body is less than 1/16 inch, I'm guessing .035 to .045" thick. Is your Pathy armor plated ?? B

The majority of the boot goes to the inside of the bellhousing.... The oil seal retainer has like 6 bolts on it... just unbolt it, remove the oil seal from it, press in the new one and bolt the assembly back on... Put the hammer down !! B -

Yes, there is an oil seal retainer. The oil seal is pressed into that. I think the main reason for this design is that this way it is easily worked on on a bench or put in a press, etc. Not under the truck with a hammer and swearing... :furious: Going outside to look at the dust cover right now... Just like the title says... I think it pretty much have it worked out. I need 8 1/4-20 jack nuts (the water resistant type) some RTV and MAYBE some plastic washers...This is a link to them. http://www1.mscdirect.com/CGI/NNPDFF?PMPAGE=1964 Two questions I have are 1) Can/will anyone hazzard a guess as to the thickness of the sheet metal on the roof (other than 'pretty thin', etc) and 2) Anyone have any idea how much room there is between the sheet metal and the headliner ?? That would be very helpful, thanks !! Oh, for those of you who are missing any of those damn plastic pannel rivets that are in the wheel wells, etc and hold a bunch of stuff together/on here is a link... http://www1.mscdirect.com/CGI/NNPDFF?PMPAG...70&PMT4TP=*LTIP They also have U nuts and damn near anything else you can think of...
