  1. This has evolved into the wierdest scenario I have ever heard. Show up with a car trailer, 5+ friends, several trucks, tow straps/chains and weapons. If there are any cars in the way, just drag them clear. Put the Pathy on the trailer. Leave. If he has an issue with this, just ignore him and go about your business. Let HIM call the cops this time and try to explain it to them. If he tries to stop you, mob his ass !! I'm at a loss that you haven't gotten it yet. Just go get your truck... B
  2. I second the bad ground idea as a place to start, and would suggest that the positive cable could be part of the issue. Corrosion/oil at the connectors ? 1 step at a time... B
  3. While that has been mentioned several times, I can't remember.... Try here. http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?s=&act...rch&mode=adv&f= B
  4. I have a magnaflow, but just 1 pipe all the way. Very little is impossible if you throw the cash at it. Why do you want dual exhaust other than for looks and maybe sound ? There wont be any real performance gain over running 1 pipe... The choke point will still be at the Y before the muffler. Even if you had headers and ran duals all the way back, I doubt it would perform better than 1 pipe with headers. Just more stuff to tear off on trails. Remember, this is a 3 liter motor. About 185 cubic inch... It doesn't need that much plumbing !! Hell, a Dodge Dart with a slant 6 is 230CI... Just put in a high flow cat and the magnaflow with 2.25-2.5" pipe and thats all she needs. The rest is just spending money for nothing. The cat it there for a reason. Leave it in or replace it with a high flow design, don't just remove it ! Thats pretty irresponsible, and could come back to bite you in the ass. B
  5. I love it when the work pays off !!! Congrats on getting her up and rolling !! Glad you replaced the clutch parts and sure you will be also... B
  6. LOL Bud !! Gee not like I haven't done things like that... Any time I work on a car and it has problems, I immediately assume I did something stupid/wrong. Thankfully that isn't so common anymore, but still happens sometimes... Get a digital camera, even a cheap one and take lots of pictures. That has saved me a lot of grief a few times. Glad you got it figured out quickly !! B
  7. Valves, seats, etc ??? How many miles ?? B
  8. I'd guess it has to be related to something you did. It's only the oil sender unit near the starter, unless you tugged something in the harness pulling the starter out the front ? Did you get the wires to the O2 sensor correct ?? WTF ? That still has nothing to do with the brake light... Did you run the ECU codes yet ? B
  9. That wasn't my concern. More like you getting Esplenaded from the side and going flying out... Yes, slim chance I know, but also a lame reason to be buried. What, your 17 and have no kids ?? What are you, some kind of slacker ?? B
  10. Yes, it's at about 1200-1800 rpm right ?? You sure you didn't install a turbo by mistake ?? B
  11. Dowser is mental... Funny, but mental... B
  12. Yeah, he looks shocked, suprised, upset, disappointed and rather bruised... B
  13. Ok, let me get this straight... You want That you But Did I get that right ??? Fully amusing post, in more ways than 1. While I can make most things, I dont think anyone tatooed "JACKASS" on my forehead last night... 88 has made some and may be able to help you, but you'd have to pay for shipping at least, as he wont drive it up and install it for you... B
  14. Does that mean you you were just cruising around town like that ? I recommend rigging up some safari doors... B
  15. Gee, nice way to destroy a truck !!! Why didn't he just stop for a sec rather than give it enough gas to flip ?? I don't get it... Hope he had a 4 point restraint system !! :o B
  16. Um, auto or manual ?? If it is manual, both MaritimeMan and vidro have receintly rebuilt theirs. If it is auto, geezerpower and lgranch are great sources... I'm sure others have good input, those are just the ones that came to mind. B
  17. Um, how many times do I have to thank you for the cast off springs you got for free ?? Not like I don't make custom parts for you that you don't even install... Maybe I should start charging for my work. B
  18. Thanks 98sp !! If I remember the article correctly, the gas milage tapers off when you stop using the acetone so your third fill up would be the most accurate for 'normal' fuel. That would indicate in this brief test that you experienced a 5-10% milage gain. Helpful, but not that impressive. Still, saving 1 gallon per tank is $3 a fill up... I always said I'd be happy if I could get 20mph, and that would make it close... Damn, I need headers and a free flow cat !! B
  19. Damn, thats tempting, but the motor in my Pathy only has 115k on it and runs perfect... I'd be concerned about parts availability and finding a mechanic who knows them. Just isn't worth the $3500 to me right now. Hey Red, you interested ? B
  20. A worn and/or bent key can do that sometimes. Also, if you have a lot of weight hanging from the key, it can damage the ignition lock over time and seize up like that. Crud can do it it also. My GF had that happen in her Honda and I was able to get it to work again by flushing it out with WD40, working the key, removing and cleaning it (repeat 100 times). B
  21. Damn !! Not much to say after Red... What it comes down to is that if you just want to buy a kit and don't really care about some $, then do it. If you want better pieces and to save some $, mix and matching like Red said can definitely pay off !! I suggest the latter as it will help pay for more things, Pathy or not. B
  22. Personally I don't use Penzoil, and lean towards Valvoline. Why ?? Hell if I know. Something I read a while back ? The chicks on the commercials ? NASCAR ? Wait, I dont waste my time with that crap, strike it ! While I'm sure some one can come up with a performance chart and viscous study, I wonder if it is objective. I'm sure there is SOME difference, but what, how much and who knows... To me Dino oil is Dino oil. Thats what I run, and rarely go 3000 miles. I change about 2500 usually. I'm kind of anal about being nice to the motor; thats one of the reasons I bought a Pathy. The motors run a LONG time if takes care of and there is little doubt that fresh oil is part of it. This is my reliable vehicle so maintenence is not skimped on, not implying you do. The biggest question is are filters included and what kind do they use ? Some are complete crap and either clog immediately or disintegrate into the oil, causing more abrasion. I believe Fram is on the crap list and NAPA Gold good stuff. I cant remember, someone chime in !! It is still a good deal for the oil, labor, and disposal, even if you bring your own filter and tell them to keep their crap ! B
  23. Thats off of the factory roof rack front bar ? You drill through the roof for the wires ? Where did you run them and how did you seal it ? Whats with the GIANT bird crap on the the windshield ? Cool, tested them yet ??? Oh and your camera phone sucks !!! B
