  1. 4, but then I didn't bother with TV long before that... Just trying to look out for your mental health JJ, you are on the endangered list... B
  2. Cool!! Now provide the link and a description of the install... B
  3. Personally, I'd leave the tranny in, just move it back a little for wiggle room. I haven't pulled an engine yet, but I recall people advising removing the radiator, fan clutch and still some claimed they had to drop the front differential to clear the oil pan... B
  4. Here you go, a round toothed pulley and belt. Just to make sure there is no confusion, this is what should be found on 94-95 WD21s and have a commended replacement interval of 105k miles/4 years. FYI mine was on for 99k and 14 years with no significant signs of rubber degradation, much less cracking or fraying. And as for the tensioner spring placement, you have it correct as per this photo. B
  5. I've heard of this before, but it doesn't address my main concern, if you stop for any reason while in the water. Still better than nothing, no doubt... B
  6. TV is sooooo 2003, do try to keep up... B
  7. LOL Looks like an overgrown Cooper Mini... B
  8. Good luck Bud, sounds like you are almost there. This trip is quite the story... B
  9. Fair enough. I didn't go through much offroad with the Michelin LTX, but there is a definite limit a M/S type tire can deal with. It is definitely a good tire overall, and certainly not cheap (actually expensive) so it better perform for it's class... B
  10. The pullies are different from square to round pully. Let me look for a picture when I get home today... B
  11. Ditto with everything said. Unless you are fairly flush with cash, I wouldn't really bother. The second set of rims and tires price will off set buying another set of BFG quite a bit and I doubt you'll see any large gas mileage difference as the BFG AT are not very aggressive. I have a set of the LTX in 235/75/15 sitting in my backyard that I can hardly give away. LOL @ amazing offroad, they are freakin M/S tires!! My BFG MT KM2 (other than vibration and noise) handle just as well on the road and there is no comparison off road. B
  12. Hey Sliva, just for clarity and organization, do you mind if I modify the title to "... On The R50 AC Lift" and if you are willing, I would like to host the pictures on NPORA's photobucket account so they are not lost in time like so many other technical photos. B
  13. You change the speed sensor gear. There have been several recent threads on exactly that that should turn up in a search. It's what I would have to do to answer you, so you try first and holler if you cant find them... B
  14. There is a plate on the passenger side fender that states the gearing (HG43 or HG46) but I don't know if it lists the rear axle model number. Is that what you are asking?? B
  15. They are arguably stronger and due to the manual engagement, do not have the locking/unlocking issue of the auto locking hubs when switching from forward to reverse. Also, if you find yourself suddenly stuck in 2x, you can lock them and engage 4x where as with the auto lockers, you can not always get the tire rotation to engage them, and if you do, it may be damaging. B
  16. What I have heard from someone just a few days ago is that they seem to wear quicker, although not catastrophically, but they are uni-directional which do not allow proper cross or 5 wheel rotation. Others seem to like them. Check the Unofficial Tire Review Thread in the Product Review section for better info... B
  17. Just be careful if you go through bat country. B
  18. No, you have to type all of that every time someone asks!!! Nice write up, so here you go. By the way, wat iz the bigest tire I can put on my phathflinder ok tanks. B
  19. Discount tire had the best prices in this area. I'm a BFG fan, at least for trucks; either the AT or MT should do the job well, both are good. Sorry, but you have to stop living in the past. $169 for BFG MT KM2 in 31" is what I paid. If I plan to keep a vehicle, I'll usually try to pony up for the better tires. B
  20. Look, I can reply here. Cool!

Dave, I went from 235/75/15 (about 29") to 31", but I also installed a 2" body lift, 2" suspension lift quickly followed by headers and custom exhaust. I may have an exhaust leak or sensor problems, my mileage went down to about 13-14 mpg around town (no hwy average). Some Pathys came with 31" tires. You shouldn't see much mpg...

  21. Damn, that's a full day. Good luck on the trip, Bud. B
  22. The zip ties is a good idea. After a few tries, I set the tensioner to where it was loose but not enough to easily let a tooth skip. Then I went from the crank pulley to the passenger cam pully to the drivers side. That one was tight going on, but all the marks were in the right place. Then I counted the teeth between maks about 4 times out of paranoia... B
  23. I thought someone else had asked about this same thing a year or two ago... B
  24. Oh, this might help... http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=26230&view=findpost&p=482294 B
