Payment sent. Doing fine on cash, but if you could send me some time... B
-
If it works for you, great. I'll follow the the tech's advice and method though. Why? No need to change what works just fine and is proven. Who is the girl holding the wrench? B
-
Odds are that is it, but also check the battery terminal connections, alternator connections and chassis ground strap connection. Being in a salt state, they may be corroded and not conducting properly... B

Tires should always be wider than the rim, around 20-30% is a good average but every tire is slightly different. Find the tire you are interested in and then go to the manufacturer web site where they should have the recommended wheel widths for that particular tire model and size. B

Looks like blue paint to me, so yeah, I have a spare set. They do match my own in the WD21 so I'll keep some, but I can spare 1 at least. PM me if you are interested. B

Exactly, and those same tools will help with other repairs, not to mention can be sold or traded when appropriate. B

Another once-local!! I lived on Ignacio for years (other side of the freeway), once on Alameda Del Prado which you must know. Hey, find life is as hectic as you make it. I hardly ever go down to the Bay Area and generally just enjoy my yard, garden and garage. IIRC the injectors from NOW were $160+ shipping, but I got the full set still in the rails with the cross lines and pressure regulator too. Not a bad price, but more than you need right now. I think I have the set of injectors from my parts truck in my garage, I'll look for them tonight and see what color they are... B
-
Hmm, I should have a set of injectors at home from the parts truck. I'll take a look this evening. If I don't get back to you right away, remind me. I'm easily distracted by shiney objects and seeing how I make shiney objects for a living, you get the point... Oh, you are welcome! B

Damn, sorry to hear about all the trouble at once, but I understand your assessment. Keep your eyed peeled for a replacement and I bet you find something in no time. Best of luck. BTW, what is the new career? B

One of th guys around here (can't recall the name rightnow) in COlorado has a lot of experience with SAS Nissans, and he switched from a Pathy to a Hardbody, the main reason being that he found that the Pathy had a noticably hard tome dragging its own arse over obsticles, so your idea of chopping a 2 door would actually be a good idea (and not the first time it's been done) to lighten it up as much as possible. That said, it really comes down to your preference and price/availability and how hard core you want to make it. B

Hey Azzo, I went ahead and merged your 3 threads into one since they were all pretty much the same. Please don't create multiple threads for the same subjects because it causes confusion 2 ways. If I had read this thread first, I wouldn't have even bothered to type 1/2 of my first post as the questions are answered here. Likewise, if there are multiple threads, when someone searches in the future it is far harder to find the material , ie more threads to go through and easier to get confused. Not ragging on you, just explaining how we try to do things here for the sake of organization. Trust me, it's hard enough to do already. Thanks. Now, back to bgetting your injector situation worked out... B
-
I'd use something closer to 800 grit, but worth a shot. Check your ECU for codes to see if you have an injector issue registering. Does it run poorly, smell rich or have bad gas mileage? What does the spark plug look like compared to one with a 'good' injector? That said, I had an injector fail on our R50. At first it was only when it was warmed up and restarted, but then it failed all together. Even if it works fine now, it might be on the way out. You might want to start looking for a replacement; I bought a used set from N(issan)O(nly)W(reckers) up by Sacramento Ca and have had no problems for 15,000 or so. B

Why are there no harbodys on this forum?

I could post some pictures, but K (MallCrawler99) would would make me pay if she found out... B -
Check for condensation in your dizzy cap, a shot of WD-40 will cure it instantly but it will come back if you have a crack or poor seal. B
-
Idle adjustment? As was said, just follow the procedure. I can not recall anyone having problems from checking for fault codes. B
-
Agreed, if the races are scarred or brinneled they might not last too long and now is a good time to repack them with fresh grease. To give you an idea, my 1995 WD21 had loose bearings when I bought it with under 100k miles and the drivers side was 'crunchy' when I tightened them up so I replaced them. My wife's 1999.0 R50 had loose bearings when we bought it with 150k miles on it and all I did was repack and retorque and they are still fine at almost 170k. B

Yes, as was said, the cup is important. You look like you have a herneated disk or two so yes, changing them is appropriate and they always look a lot worse inside than out. Be prepared to de-rust/paint the strut rod too. A good swap that is inbetween factory and Mr 510's idea is simply to use poly urethane replacements. I can say from experience that they stiffens things considerably. B

Glad you got it figured out. Check out Kiwipete's snorkel, that's the best home made one I have seen and plan to emulate it... B

My bad, I haven't been around for a while and completely forgot about this. Dowser, I'll check my emails and respond appropriately. As before I'm in for 2 so that should get us almost to the finish line. I'll send funds immediately when I know what you need... B

Borrow, rent or buy something like this that is illuminated and has the front hook/magnet attachments. http://www.amazon.com/Whistler-WHIWIC2409C-Wireless-Inspection-Device/dp/B004FICUWO B -
since you guys are 1 for 1. I have another question.

Best kind of fix! B -
There was a thread a while back where people took audio samples of their exhaust, but I found the quality low and subsequently not very informative. There is not much point in having dual tips unless you are doing it for looks. I think it was Tungsten, but I recall a thread where someone pieced together an exhaust system out of pre-bent piping but a decent shop can make a 1 piece cat back set up for you pretty damn cheap and then you have less likelyhood of leaks down the road. I highly recommend re-checking the bearing play in a few hundred miles(kilometers) as I found mine had settled in a bit and loosened up slightly. B
