Out near MOAB, eh? That's quite a haul!! So, is it still dripping?? B
-
In all politeness, how the hell does that make 'rule' of anything? Stop listening to that person!!! B

So it looks like it is dripping off of the cat's bottom heatshield, and it certainly does look like water. I've never studied the R50 AC location and drain, but it is not unusual for cars to have some run off from the AC around there (assuming this is on the passenger side), so at this point I wouldn't worry. Monitor all fluids of course, but I'll bet the AC was the cause. Where did you go and play? B

Successful install of MSD coil 8228 No mess no fuss :)

The stock Nissan ignition is strong enough to run without a center contact in the distributor cap. It merely arcs the gap from the contact tensioner spring to the rotor and runs merrily along. I honestly see little reason to upgrade a stock VG Pathy ignition, it certainly is not a weak point. If someone has a failure and needs a replacement, this $50 replacement isn't a bad idea though... Oxygen and nitrous injection I know little about. Sorry... B

I believe the key is to disconnect the drive shaft or you can damage the transmission, otherwise flat towing is limited to 35mph/2miles or something like that. It's been a while so lets see what others remember. Yes, this has been discussed before, and yes, the search function isn't the best either. B

Don't mind Tungsten, he has issues. Yet another, cooling the intake will give you 10% power gains. If I ever get the time, I'll play with HHO and water injection to see what difference it makes with mileage and power. If... B

No, the holes in the top of the C channel were tapped so all you have to do is remove the 3 bolts upward. I'm a machinist, after all! If I wanted to go all Indy pit crew, I could use only 2 titanium bolts... That was the 'prototype' for fitment that actually turned out good enough. It aint broke, so it don't need no fixin'. There is a lot of that on my truck. Could it be better, yes. Is it worth fixing, no. Well, as long as you find it acceptable... You are totally wrong about the clamps though. They are not Nissan OEM for one, I'm not sure where you got that from. Also, they do not suck. Furthermore band clamps (I'm assuming worm gear?) are not necessarily better. It is a matter of application, my dear pinhead. I used the right sized wire clamp to secure the hose to the barbed fitting. A band clamp will squeeze the hose around the high point of the barb, only giving you one sealing point and possibly cutting into the hose its self. A properly located wire clamp will give 2 sealing surfaces (2 lands of the barb) as it straddles one of the high points without cutting into the hose. Do you see any evidence of any leakage, ever? No. You have even failed clampology 101 so you should refrain from making absolute statements until you have caught up. B

Hush. No 'need' about it, it is what worked out the way I wanted it with what I had on hand. I don't view 3 bolts in plain view/access a challenge. There was an electrical 'tree' there held several connectors. I removed that and used the mounting points for a flat piece of aluminum as the base. I realized that it was too low and hard to get to so I used a piece of aluminum C channel as a riser for the filter mount, bolting everything together. When I do an oil filter change, I break the oil filter loose, remove 3 bolts, move it/position it so there are no drips (or into an appropriate container), unscrew the filter, screw the new one, replace 3 bolts and have a beer. Set up water injection. It cools the air, increases compression and removes carbon build up. B

I looked at it, and went over to Rock Auto to check it out. Haven't ordered anything yet, but I might. Thanks for that! FYI, someone pointed out that the Moog idler arm design wasn't nearly as robust as it looks and that you are better off going the OEM route. I haven't made the compariison, but it was someone I trusted... B

Who is this Nige person? B

If you've ever had an air cooled VW carb ice up on you and stop working, you know why the intake is heated. I plan to leave mine alone other than supplying it with 'cold' air from a snorkel... B

The way I check, other than by hand at first, it jack up the rear and support it properly. Start it and put it in gear. I watched my drive shaft wag the tranny back and forth, and that told me all I needed to know... B
-
Yep, pretty much the same thing I did! I like your front clip exo-skeleton, but you mught want to improve that rear mount, I'm not sure the running boards are sufficient. B
-
Yes, it is usually termed clutch chatter and you should be able to feel it in the clutch pedal also. B
-
Apparently not (I checked), but I'll take a few shots for you today. B
-
Are you sure everything is tuned correctly?? No shot ignition parts, etc? B
-
Exactly what I plan to do... B

The drag of the AC would off set any possible gains and it doesn't have nearly enough CFM to meet the needs. After the MAF would mess up the ratios... Cold air intake helps of course, and so does an aftermarket filter but that can be a problem in wet situations. If you want more power, an isolated cone filter, headers, freeflow cat and larger exhaust will wake things up a bit. Next step is to look at gearing and tire size to optimize... B
-
Ahh, totally different. Yeah, I see how that needs it and would be a pain. Thanks! B
-
Why did you have to clock ports the engine side adapter? I made a 2 piece mount so when I change the filter I break it loose but don't break the seal, remove 3 bolts and then unscrew the filter holding both the filter and adapter. It's not too hard to do this without spilling any oil and far better than dumping it on the starter and having it drip off of the crossmember/A arm. Besides, I get to run the Fram PH8a size filter... B
-
It could be U joint related also or even tranny mount shifting. You'll see the most movement in low gears... B
-
Really? How much longer does it take the incandesent bulb to illuminate? Do you want a faster, brighter target for the next DUI to fixate on? Not saying you shouldn't do it, just questioning the instant safety part... B
