What? You don't like the saggy diaper butt? Agreed, but I'm holding out until I have made or commissioned a new one. I have a piece of 4" square, 1/4" wall that would make a good base and support a built in receiver... B

Well, get on it man! B

I made room and got it in the second bay of the garage today. This is a monumental achievement and momentus occasion! For the first time since moving in (1.5 years ago) I have enough room in the garage for 2 cars!! I don't want to talk about the 2 motorcycles or 2 sets of tires under the patio... Anyway, looking to fix the brakes and probably install the Xterra roof rack. May the Gods of motivation smile upon me! Oh, this is why to trust your instincts and take another look around before just pulling in. B

I would be surprised if you have any issues with the quality or fitment. Thorley is a reputable company from all reports I have heard, and I'm sure they are using the same jigs and fixturing as the previous runs. Have you inspected them? Did you guys get the ceramic coated or the nickel/chrome ones? B

I've used Gates for years myself and consider them an industry standard. I've also had luck with AC Delco. B

Cool, no rush though. I can only improve intake, being in a smog test area, but I'd love to put in some cams also. I'm not sure how that would work out though... Maybe when I have some time? B

Has anyone been having these forum issues?
Precise1 replied to ferrariowner123's topic in General Forums
Agreed, no issues what so ever on wireless PC. B -
Sweet!! I remember when my box showed up too. I went with a Flowmaster Delta 60 myself, IIRC. Good luck gettingit all set up, I'm sure you will appreciate it. Remember though, to get the most out of them, you need to upgrade the intake a bit. B
-
Ok, I'm locking this one as it is a mirror of the one in the HCF section. Thanks for the enthusiasm, but it confuses the issue when the same thing is posted multiple times. B

FYI, if you think moisture in the dizzy is the cause, give it a quick shot of WD-40 and retest. Best application for that product I have found yet... B

It didn't sound smooth to me. Injector are tested by checking the resistance of the 2 pins, something like 8-12 or 14 ohms cold. I had an injector that only failed when warm, perhaps you have one that only fails cold. Another way to check is to use a mechanics stethescope, you can hear things perfectly and I've seen them for $5. Do you have a copy of the FSM to flip through? Not trying to discourage questions but some of these technical details are answered in it. Good point... B

Ok, guys, lets keep it polite please. 00PathfinderSE, please do keep us informed. I have been here a long time and have reviewed many threads on the KYB product. Enough to where I decided to avoid them myself. If I (we) are wrong, I'd love to know it. I hope you do prove the common perception false; more options and one less thing to consider. B

Ah, ok, makes sense now, sorry. I agree, take it to a shop. Hopefully it's not a big deal... When I removed my tranny, I simply drained it, put the plugs back in and removed it without any major spills. Once you have it out you can drain it all the way if you want to. B

I had something like that happen to me, the truck would stutter a little in 1st gear when taking off, and then eventually in second also. It was the dizy cap, there was no center electrode contact left so it was just arcing along. Check your dizzy cap for damage, cracks and condensation. I'd also make sure the TPS is functioning correctly and look for vacuum leaks. Did you check the ECU for codes? B

Was the wife in the car? ^Like he said, can you have someone try to pinpoint it while you drive? It really sounds like a bearing whine the way you describe it. When is the last time the fluids have been changed? Tranny, rear end, front diff? It might be that simple... B
-
A damper could help, but honestly that's probably just adressing a symptom of something else. So the front end checks out in the air which is good, but do a quick check when it is on the ground too. Sometimes weight and full suspension droop can put a load on things making them seem tighter than they are at normal operating conditions. At this point I would do that, take the tires back to Discount to have the balance checked, install the tension rod bushings, make sure it is properly aligned and see what you get. B
-
I have seen that much fines and shavings on drain plugs of perfectly functioning trannys before. Chunks and pieces are what you don't want to see. I don't even recognize that last picture. You say that is the shifter? B
-
If the cups are relatively intact and the hole is not badly oversized, then it isn't hard to do other than breaking the bolts loose. You definitely have to replace the rod, it's supposed to be in one piece. If you need cups brazed on or rust damage repaired, you may just want to take it to a shop. It shouldn't be terribly expensive, it is more the equipment and experience, but you can't reliably tell without taking things apart. B
-
Be careful! If you are not used to ice and snow, it's definitely a learned skill. 4WD means you can generally accelerate faster but doesn't do crap when you need to stop. Have fun. B
-
I seem to remember someone having to replace the plastic cup the shifter sits in, so perhaps you simply aren't getting the proper postion or throw. I'm sorry, I don't know which tranny the diesels have. I'll try to look it up later. B
-
I have no idea, I have little experience working on gear boxes. Here is what my FSM shows... B
-
Actually, I believe you are right about that (for what ever reason), also that they are straight cut which is why you get the reverse whine if you go any speed. I know what you are saying, I can't help but feel something is just stuck or unable to mesh. Ok, I had to look. Page MT12 of the 1995 FSM shows 1&2 syncro, 3&4 syncro and OD(5th)&reverse syncro. Reverse is straight cut though. B
-
Strange that it suddenly stopped working after it was parked for a bit though. Don't feel bad, not everyone goes rummaging through transmissions. Well, difficult and a lot of work are two different things. I don't believe changing the syncros to be especially difficlut, but it requires removal and disassembly of the tranny which is a lot of time. I haven't disassembled a pathy tranny so I can't advise further. B
-
With my manual, it was always a bit stiff going into reverse if I didn't align things first, meaning I'd shift into 5th first and than into reverse. This is a trick from older cars and always seemsed to help so hopefully it is that simple. Other than that, rock it as Andreus said. B
