OMG...I just got back from McDonald's. And they gave me SPRITE! I asked for COKE! NEVER GO TO MCDONALDS, EVER!!! Their employees give out the wrong stuff!!! Isolated incidents such as the above should be taken as such. While I'm sure that your experience there may not have been 100% satisfying, I'm also sure that there have been thousands of satisfied customers at that particular Firestone location. I, personally, have never had a problem with them. They know they can't pull the wool over my eyes, so to speak, so they don't bother trying. Sounds like the technician may have been trying to either get you to perform a service that may have been unnecessary, but wouldn't have caused you any harm in the long run. Let it go man. If you're that unhappy with the place, just find somewhere else to take your car next time.

Well, since Marcel is very close to you, I'm sure you can arrange something with him. He's right up the road in Selkirk.
-
He absolutely would. Just shoot him an email Alex. You can get it off http://www.shrockworks.com

I've been in talks with Jim for three years, and they WANT to build stuff for the R50, they just don't have a vehicle to work from. Front Bumpers Rear Bumpers Skidplates Sliders You name it. Hell I'd GIVE him my 99 if it were straight, but it's not, so it won't do anybody any good.
-
And why don't you drop it off still, and have them use your truck to build templates for R50 bumpers?

OME Suspension lift for 2005+ Pathfinder

Why are you yelling? -
You can get the OEM ones from a dealership, or through one of the numerous online Nissan Parts sites...

The other Alex...
-
Well, this IS the R50 section... Have you had the Fuel Neck Recall done?
-
Typically, the Automatics come with the 4.6s, and the Manuals come with the 4.3s. If you read Alex's post, it says he's got a 5-speed. Read and use that thing between your ears!

That one was posted on one of the DC area craigslists not too long ago, no? I was thinking about emailing on it. Looks good man.

I can agree with the quality of their struts. I've had the GR-2 struts on my truck since I got it, and love them!

No, the front defrost is controlled by the HVAC....the mirrors and rear defrost are on the switch.
-
Yeah, when I talked to Volrick a few weeks ago, he said that they've got these new heavy duty "no-lift" coils (they give about an extra 1/2") that are the same rate as the 2" lift coils. Probably going to be your best bet.
-
If you do not want to lift the truck, then go with the 1/2" HD coils. They're the same rate as the 2" coils, but they're not as long, so they don't provide the lift. They're designed for applications like yours, hauling and towing. Another option would be to get a set of the air-lift bags.

It's possible the heating elements in your mirrors have burned out, then. They are electrical, unlike the GM units, which simplly blow hot air into the mirrors. You can pull the mirror glass off, turn on the defrost, and see if the elements get hot. If that's not it, they may have separated from the mirrors. Another possiblility is the wiring may have corroded.

90-110. I torque to 110. Be sure that ALL of the lugs are torqued the same, too.
-
Also check: Strut mounts and bearings for excess play, this can throw off your camber and cause the uneven wear you're experiencing. Tie Rod ends Steering Rack Bushings can cause the steering rack to move back and forth and cause alignment issues which can mask as a shaking steering wheel. Make sure the wheels are mounted properly and they aren't bent. Also, be sure that your lug nuts are torqued to the CORRECT torque. Overtorqued lug nuts can also cause wobbling in the front end.

Does your rear defrost still work?

More precisely, I will not work with coil compressors. Had a set let go on me, and sent a coil through a 12" stucco wall, missing my cousin by about a foot. I'll let Pep Boys do it for $20. Not worth the hassle.
-
Well. No, I will not replace them myself. I will do anything on a vehicle, except struts.
-
The first set of KYB Strut bearings I had installed were binding from Day 1. This set did the same thing, and failed catastrophically after only 12k miles. OEM or nothing!
-
Unfortunately, I have no pictures of this, and pictures wouldn't really demonstrate the issue. I've been hearing a high-pitched clunk from my right front strut for a couple weeks now. I recently replaced the struts, springs and strut mounts up front (about 12,000 miles ago) after I discovered a broken coil. Today, while replacing brake pads and bleeding the brakes, I decided to inspect the clunking sound. I was able to move the strut/coil assembly, by hand, a good 3/4" laterally. That's not supposed to happen. Driving home, I got a terrible vibration in the front end. Luckily it didn't surface until I was a couple blocks from home. I took a look, and the entire strut bearing has come apart inside of the mount. If this is the kind of workmanship that KYB allows out of their factory, I highly recommend that those of you out there with the KYB strut mounts promptly run to your Nissan Parts department and get the OEM ones!!

Brown is OK depending on the mileage of your truck, I think they're just trying to get you to buy another service....Black...not so much.
