I gotta agree with treywurst, the search engine on this BBS is quite possibly the worst one I've ever run into. No matter what I've tried to find I get virually every post ever done on here, most having nothing to do with what I was looking for...

You'd need to check for leaks only if you're going to use a mechanical guage. Use an electric one and all you have to worry about is a clean install on the wiring... -thnkboutit- :idea: I use my dual trips the same way as RedPath88 does...

Looks to me like it has an electrical tape fix on it already... maybe it's just oil or something. You can see it's a barbed hose fitting, simply replace with the appropriate sized hose...

I remember seeing at one time a dual cupholder that fit in place of the ashtray ~ but it was like 20 bucks for a plastic hunk of isht...

I like the dual trips, too... An under-dash oil pressure guage would be a piece of cake, very simple to install. It'd be more work if you're looking to do the A-pillar pod style, the hardest part trying probably to find one that fits a Pathy or H/B pickup pillar...

Nope, that's all factory. I think it depends on your trim level i.e. SE, XE, etc. My H/B pickup is an XE and has "idiot lights" and no tach, even though it's a 5 speed... Oh! Wait... yeah, I put that in .... nice mod, huh?

That's cool, wheel. Sorry to hear about your probs w/ the Audi, but why didn't you just turn it into your insurance? I had the same thing happen to me, i.e. the shop re-used some of my parts while billing the insurance for new ones, etc. That's why you pay your insurance company ~ let them foot the bill. I turned it into the Nevada State Insurance regulators. They nailed the sumbitches big time for fraud, and it cost me nothing other than a little time on the phone. No lawyer, no fees. Thankfully, I'd taken detailed pics of all damage. They had a hard time explaining how a body gasket, side marker light, etc. damaged in the crash, had the same nicks & scrapes as the "new" ones they installed. Hammer time... I agree, I'm not in your position (trying now to grab ankles ~ j/k), it's easy to sit & read something and formulate a hypothesis when there's a ton of personal variables, none of which I was privy to. I apologize for being a smartass...

There's nothing to envy there, other than the pay once MM gets home. It's 18 hour days with nothing but fish. You catch fish, gut fish, eat fish, crap fish, sleep fish ~ then you get up & fish some more. Oh, did I mention fish? I've had several friends over the years that have made the trek, or were Alaskan natives, that earned their livings doing what MM's up to. Some loved it more than life itself, other's it was simply a (quite large) paycheck. :contract: I take that back ~ being on the ocean is it's own reward...

Yeppers, someone here installed a JGC console in their Pathy with a little modifying (bending) of their handbrake lever, plus he had to remove the lumbar support handle off of the driver's seat for clearance. Other than that, seems to me it was a pretty straight-forward swap. Fit great and gave him 2 real cupholders... It was a really clean installation, very well done with pics...

The orange doesn't really bother me, unlike some on this BBS. Matter of fact, that's one of the reasons I went with the Kenwood at the time I was replacing stereo's, was that it was one of the few H/U's that had switchable illumination to match dash colors. Why would anyone want a blue/red/green H/U display with an orange dash? -thnkboutit- Plus try finding the white-faced dash overlays for anything other than a H/B pickup ~ one without a tach, at that... I'm a big fan of real guages. Idiot lights are just that. You'd be an idiot to rely on them ~ by the time they normally come on, the damage is usually already done...

So, you're going to pay approx. $3500. for the next 4 consecutive months on your Audi, but can't afford anything other than the local jack-off working in his Mom's driveway to work on your Pathy? Sounds like BS to me ~ but that's just me... BTW, lawyer fees are not a "normal thing"...

You guy's have to remember that he's in BFE, Nv., the same place I lived for 12 years. Prices are higher in that area for a couple of reasons: 1 ~ Isolated. 300 miles to Reno, 400 to Vegas, 240 or so to SLC... 2 ~ Area has the highest per-capita income in the state, hence, higher cost-of-living... 3 ~ Limited choices due to lack of competition. Entire county has a population of approx. 35,000...

If it was me, he wouldn't see a F'ing red cent. What's he going to do, take you to court? Why don't you try billing him for the loss of the use of your rig for X amount of months of anxiety, pain & suffering from Pathy withdrawls, etc. :contract: BTW, I have to agree with a couple of others in here ~ your Mom's priorities are skewed more than a little bit. I wouldn't hesitate in looking for my own place... you have a real problem cutting your losses, don't you? Might be time for that assertiveness training course at the local JuCo... :furious:

6 on 5.5 is available on Nissan, Toyota, Chevy, and also Isuzu if you're looking for a deal on used rims. Like Slick said, just make sure the center hub hole is the correct diameter, they're not all the same. It can be changed by a competent maching shop, but they'd have to be a heck of a deal to justify machining costs... :contract:

Well, being a manual tranny owner I can only guess, but it seems to me alot of the problems I've read here & other boards re: auto tranny failure, usually points to the stock oil cooler. Many have replaced theirs with an aftermarket one to correct the overheating problems, etc. That's assuming that yours was rebuilt correctly in the first place, of course. Like I said, only speculation on my part, any auto owners feel free to chime in... :gossip:

You could also take the Seattle/Bainbridge Island ferry and go out through Seabeck. Advantage of having a shorter ferry ride (by half)...

Went right to it for me, but still the same generic results ~ type in "lift kit" & you get everything from dead battery posts to 6-way power ashtrays...
