  1. I've lost part of one I have ~ Nissan logo w/ the split ball top & bottom ~ but it's been on there for 6+ years... try installing it using alcohol to clean the windshield real good, then using your G/F's hairdryer to heat it mildly as you apply...
  2. IMHO, you want to change that belt while you're in there. First reason is that antifreeze will attack it, accelerating failure, or so I've been told. The other reason is common sense ~ as long as you're in there, spend a few extra bucks & do it. It'd be like pulling the tranny to replace the T/O bearing and not replacing the clutch/pressure plate while it's torn down.
  3. Looks sweet, MM ! Pics when you're installing, please.... Calmini makes pool tables too, huh ?
  4. and KY for lubing the front end.... or is that the rearend ?
  5. That's way low, dude. Should be reading 13.5 or so. Might be a voltage regulator, or the alternator itself. Might even be something as simple as corroded terminals on your battery or a loose belt. No voltmeter in your dash ? I wouldn't be able to speculate on the accuracy of your combo radar detector/voltmeter... does it sharpen knives too ?
  6. Welcome strudeau, sorry to hear about your probs. I don't think I could write it up any better, so here's a link... :secret: Replacing Your Starter on a 1987-95 When in doubt, try a search or two, just make sure you change the timeframe to go back to include all posts. You might end up with 3 or 4 pages to sort through, -study- but if it's Pathy related you'll more than likely find a post about it here.
  7. With M/U's reaching 20%-50% or better we're talking a lot of lost revenue to the shop. I feel the same way as you do about it. If they want to ream me on the parts due to my inability to do the work myself, screw 'em, I'll look elsewhere.... :contract: Yeah, I remember when handshakes actually meant something, it's a sorry world compared to the one I grew up in....
  8. Well, it makes sense if your a shop & alot of your bucks come from the markup you receive off of parts. It's been my experience that's the reason for reluctance of owner supplied parts by indies.... -thnkboutit-
  9. Congrats on the Pathy, Alex. Two doors rule !!! I've got an '87SE and have put 6-1/2" 3-ways (Alpine) in my doors, with their 6x9" 3-ways in the back. I thought 5-1/4" was stock Clarion size for the doors. Anyhoo, the 6-1/2's fit no problemo, probably cheaper than a plate speaker, too. Just check for mounting depth on whatever it is you decide on, top mount/bottom mount will make a diference on clearance as well. Now get to work on that paint !
  10. Welcome to the boards, Lex ! Try this one, as good as they get..... Reindexing Torsion Bars
  11. Thanks again for the TSB madkiwi, and for fixin' the links...
  12. If you want to E-mail me I can take some shots of mine.... still can't post pics, think it might be the new firewall that came with XP SP2.... EDIT: I see they're working on the problem.... -bounce-
  13. Sorry! I couldn't resist. :X Don't take too much to heart, I admire the ingenuity & perseverance you both are showing. There's been times where I wished I'd had the grunt of the ubiquitous small block, like passing motorhomes with a boat on two-lane highways, or not having quite enough run at the bottom of a particularly tough hill. There's a couple of reasons that Toyota & Nissan 4x4's hold their resell value, and neither of them start with F or C... :secret:
  14. HMMMMMM, do I detect some flaming from the picklemeister ? Sorry, I'll stay with my Kenwood, try looking at specs ~ i.e. S/N ratios, FM selectivity, etc. ~ very little difference if any among the leading brands, so it basically boils down to personal preference. -argue- Unless you're an anal-retentive audiophile, the average person is never going to hear the minute differences. Especially in the confines of the less than acoustically perfect Pathy interior as you bounce down the road with your K & N sucking, headers & Flowmasters blatting, MT's humming, wind noise, rattles, etc., etc., etc., ad nauseum..... :contract: I looked at Alpine, Sony, Pioneer, Clarion, R/F and yes, Eclipse, along with a few other brands. I thought for the money, the best bang for the buck was with Kenwood as I was on a lower then average budget when my last H/U bit the dust. Though I didn't spend in the $400.~$500. range on my units, I've been more than happy with sound quality/features/functions. Eclipse makes some nice units no doubt, but I fail to see where their cost is reflected in their performance, anymore than I can with Alpine or R/F. Some people think the name's the game, otherwise you wouldn't see idiots driving around with "Alpine" or something else advertised all over their rigs, then wonder why it got broken into. Same dips that'll pay $59. for a T-shirt 'cause it says "Nike" on it. Take a look at USAcoustics amps some time, they do very little advertising. Their equipment costs 1/3 to 1/2 the price of a comparable R/F unit, and blows them completely out of the water specs-wise. But then you couldn't brag that you had "Brand X" in your rig. Style over substance... When I go to upgrade, I'll definately look at brands/specs/functions/expandability, and wouldn't be surprised if I find myself seriously looking at Kenwood again. The snide remark about trailer parks was uncalled for IMHO, smacks of a Freudian slip to me.... -thnkboutit-
  15. Hey 94, is Josh's ride silver or metallic grey over black ??? If so, I saw it when I was up that way in May of this year. I was just off Boulder Highway. If that wasn't it, someone else in LV has got a sweeta$$ Pathy, too.
  16. Congrats on the Pathy, give us an update when it's done....... What's with the A$$whole that signed in on your webpage ? Friend being "smart" ?
  17. You guys should've just swapped all that crap into a PT Cruiser and left your poor Pathy's to someone that appreciates them....
  18. Just curious, when was this TSB issued ? What I mean is I've got an '87SE that I bought in '89, and I've never had a problem or an issue with the tranny whatsoever. Oil in it routinely maintained (maybe that's the key?), filled through the plug hole, no whines, no nada... I couldn't get either of the links to wightman-crane to work, by the way. Serving American Samoa? Who takes their Pathy there? I don't have a snorkle.... Then again, I'm not real hard on vehicles ~ 159,000 plus on the clock & it still has the original clutch... I do thank you for the heads-up, though.... :cool2:
  19. That the reason for the condition of your avatar Pathy, too ?
  20. Heads up, JohnSavage. You might want to take a look at 88's post in General Forums titled "AC 1" bj spacers cause UCA damage" :secret:
  21. ALL Jeep products are routinely (for a couple of decades) the least reliable rated rigs on the road. Problems far outweigh any possible benefits of owning one of those POS's, no matter what the model is. My work here is done.....
  22. Is that a relocated CPU ? If so, I guess that'll get it up out of the water !
  23. Sounds like incompatible threads possibly, Teflon will be a stop-gap, but if it were me........ :secret:
