  1. Catch is this was a motor I rebuilt with new lifters. I had the lifters speced and primed before it sat for 5 years.
  2. When was the last time you did a tune up? Not hard to do and not pocket burning.
  3. The other day I was having an issue where I think my lifter was stuck or something. I was driving on the highway and as I was pulling off, it was very audible. Loud and repetitious depending on the RPMs. Then as I drove further, at lower speeds it went away. Any thoughts as to what happened or a cause? I unfortunately do not have my oil pressure gauge hooked up so have no idea if oil pressure was an issue.
  4. The oem ones did not go in so well. I ended up having to smooth out the barrel further for the bushings to go in easier. I won't have to worry about replacing these in another 10 or so years. I must say that this is probably one of the most satisfying fixes I've done.
  5. Yeah I got new ones in my rebuild and I think one of them is giving me hell. I have not got around to seeing if it's an exhaust leak yet.
  6. I got my replacing bushings from Nissan today. Dorman is sending me two new kits so I can get my refund from at the auto parts store.
  7. Make sure you take your time and get the lifters checked out and primed properly.
  8. Busted out the drill. Damned stuck bushing no more!
  9. Maybe they switched suppliers? Who knows. I'll shoot an email to Dorman when I get home from work.
  10. DO NOT BUY DORMAN REPLACEMENT DOOR HINGE KITS! THE BUSHINGS INCLUDED SUCK AND BREAK! ORDER NISSAN REPLACEMENT BUSHINGS!
  11. Attempted to tackle this. I have one bushing that is giving me hell and it was getting late and so I had to tape my door shut since I live in an apartment complex. What sucks even more is I have to order Nissan bushings because the Dorman hinge pin kit comes with some brittle ass copper looking bushings. They crumbled and broke with I tried push them into the hinge. Really pissed.
  12. Took apart my washer pumps and lubed the Shafts. Hopefully it lasts a few more years. Now, for new spray nozzles. Figured out why I was losing brake pressure. The vacuum hose to the booster dry rotted and cracked. Replaced with some leftover transmission oil hose. I still need to tighten down on the master cylinder to booster nuts since they were kind of loose.
  13. The doors have holes to drain water unless they are clogged. I would take a look by looking and the bottom door seams. Next could be that you have rusted windshield body panels.
  14. Replaced the busted clogged cat converter. 300 dollars. Ouch.
  15. Tested my reversed drag link and it was a definite no-go. Put the original back in. I need to make a new drag link as it is too short for my liking. Also I need to readjust it as my steering wheel is off centered. I get to drive it again so I'm happy.
  16. I ended buying the bigger trans jack from harbor freight and I was glad I did.
  17. Them electrical gremlins. I found out the other day that the front amp was for the rear speakers and the rear amp was for the front. Wierd.
  18. You could use an aftermarket one or take whole unit from a late model car or truck.
  19. Hit up a reputable locksmith to get the tumbler fixed. Shouldn't be much.
