The Tcm monitors the TPS along with the VSS to determine shifting patterns. If the TPS has spikes in electrical reading, then that could probably why the you get the shock when it switches.

It's plug and play. Remove old transmission and swap in new. Make sure you use the torque converter from the transmission you are swapping in as they really do not interchange.

How long have you had this issue? Are you the original owner? Any mods with the pathfinder? A shift kit installed will reduce the slip from 1-2 and will shift harder. What it seems like to you though that it may not be the case. How is the fluid level and color? The fsm points to these possibilities

If that's the case and you have the schematics, then you can bypass the amp. Basically instead of the harness wires going to the amp, you connect to the amp output wires.

I still need to fix my speedo input needle. I fear the Texas heat has made it brittle and broke.

An issue I found was that for some reason the plastic steering column covers were binding up against the dash. I am not sure why. Does anyone have this issue? I ended up taking out the metal weighted plate to alleviate the problem.

There's also another amp out in the back as well. I think back left cargo area next to the door lock timer I think. I could totally be wrong as it's been a while.

Sounds like a faulty combo switch. You could probably remove e it and clean up the contacts

The ecu does get a signal from the temp signal. As the engine gets hotter it increases the fuel. It almost sounds like an injector issue. Didn't you say you had issues with rat chewing up wiring? You can check the injector cycling by turning the ignition on, pulling the dizzy out and spinning the dizzy gear to verify the camshaft position sensor along with the injector function. Next guess is a vacuum leak issue. Lol. I had a similar thing happen. Engine runs fine when cold it once it warms up it misses and stumbles. I found out that one of the vacuum hose going to the carbon canister was not hooked up. But this doesn't explain the intermittent issue.

Definitely a transmission issue. I would look into the troubleshooting steps for the transmission.

You also checked the vacuum hose on the fuel pressure regulator too? It's in the far back near plug since too.

Alternator would not do that since if it was bad it would be running directly off your battery but still run fine before killing it. Anyone codes? 02 sensor? Ignition Timing? Vacuum leak? Air intake leak?

Leave the O2 sensor. Don't mess with it. It'll cause you running and fuel economy issues.
