I just ordered an OME lift kit for my 01 pathy a month ago...i was really pissed off that i couldnt get the OME struts anywhere and i had to "settle" with the KYB GR2. I called a dozen places in North America to source out the OME struts to go with my kit and they were on back order!!!!!!! I found out later from the company itself that they were in a "redesign" stage and they wouldnt be available for at least 2 months at best!. Now that i read this... im glad to have "settled" for the KYB's..in fact my truck drives absolutely amazing..i did all the work myself, a COMPLETE overhaul of the suspension and its connections. It drives amazing off road and on. I couldnt be happier! P.S. i actually wish they sold the HD coils for the back cuz with 2 people and 200lbs of "stuff" in the back the rear sags just a little!!! Tye

i havent had any prob withmy 01 like that yet...but the plastic "liner" that protects the filler tube and stuff around there in the wheel well has come loose...maybe that now letting all the crap and corruption in there!!! Tye

That is an awesome job man...i only had my pathy less than half a year when i took out the transmission mounts, then later the whole tranny just off trail, one of those would have saved the day AND $5500.00 Tye -
did you check your hip??????????? LOL Im at a loss as well...i know my click comes from my steelies rubbing on my caliper...THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO FIT!!!! Tye

has anyone else with same r50 had this prob...its only an ome lift..like 2.5 " or so...im sure it will "settle" down a little after driving a bit.(the height that is) TYE my wife backed into a parked car at the end of our driveway at the rear passenger side...ive heard of vehicles getting bent or twisted from low speed impacts on the corner b4!!!

i just posted a help ??? a few mins ago about the same thing...except im certain my axle is sticking out further on the left side of the truck than the right...im going to an alignment shop this week cuz i just put my lift in! Tye
-
Well here goes...jsut fininshed lifting the 01 last week and was noticing while sitting behind it that the rear shocks were at different angles and the truck is leaning. ????? Could it be because of the panhard rod...the way it connects to the axle and then the body could explain it...the higher it goes the more off centre the truck and axle will be...is there any way to adjust it??? Does anyone understand where im coming from??? TYE... P.S upon closer inspection..the axle is definately shifted to the left of the centre line of the truck?????

think i found what the noise is...thought i didnt thighten one of the ball joints enuf...so i jack it up...when we wiggle the tire, there is play around the nut on the lower control arm...book says the hole for the ball joint stud must be worn..CRAP...off to get nother steering knuckle!! Tye...it looks AWESOME tho!! oh yeah...new tires lifted a solid inch more for a total of 3.5 in the back and actually bout .25 in more in the front

Well its down off the blocks...looks great and still has the old (worn) tires. Took it for a little spin round the block and still a smalll noise in front end. Gunna check all connections etc tomorrow. Looks like almost 2.5 inches in the back and 2.25 or so in the front. VERY stiff tho. Havent gone more than a couple hundred yards yet. I think im gunna like it!!!! Tye

(and a really big hammer) LOL The back got 2.5 inches of lift without the spare back on yet...the front has to wait till i can get the spring compressor tomorrow!!! I got some yellow paint for the silver GR 2's...now they look like the rest of the OME suspension!!!!!! cant wait.... TYE!!!

hi there Rick... im going to measure for sure... want to see how much gained... i got the HD coils for the front of mine, even without a bumper, so it doesnt settle sooo much. Ive heard lots of good things bout the GR 2 but i REALLY wanted the matching OME struts I have a set of 15 inch steelies waiting for me 31 x 10.5 BUT i think the b/s is same as stock...soooooo not sure if gunna fit! might have to run stockers for now. (16")

Im about to put OME susp. on my 2001...went ahead and got the HD up front and want a bumper right away to "soften" the ride and "harden" the looks!!! HOLY CRAP are they expensive!!!!! Dont want anything too fancy, but $$$$$$$$$$$!!!!!!!!

So you want to lift your 96-up Pathy?
Hawzzy replied to BigBikeMike's topic in R50 FAQ's & Pinned Topics
Well, strut spacer would work...of course, the better route would be new coils from OME (old man emu) they give a smaller amount of lift than others avail. and they are EXCELLENT quality from what ive heard!!! More of a heavier duty suspension than a "lift" -
new stuff on the way.... YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!! Unfortunately, no OME struts...none in North America, none coming, and at least 8wks delivery from manufacturer in AUS. That timeline was just a guess too!!! OME springs and shocks on the way and had to settle for GR-2 on the front!!! Ill throw on some pics of the truck now and then when we get the lift done in next couple of wks!!! CANNT WAIT!!!
-
i beleive the HD go in the front to make the truck "level"...when it comes to the OME lift hieghts...an arb dealer told me the three levels of spring rates...soft, medium, and heavy duty, will give 0.5" of lift with "X" amount of weight over stock!!! Cant find the actual #s...but thats how i understood him. EXAMPLE... with 200lbs over stock (the load) the light coils give 0.5"...with the mediums and 300lbs of weight give 0.5" and heavy duty with 450 lbs of weight would give 0.5" of lift! Those #s arent completely accurate... just to show how he explained it to me!! BTW...ive been reading these posts for about a year now and there is a lot of useful info... Just wish there was more choice for ordering IN Canada!!! Tyler
