  3. O.K....bought new pads today...could here that obvious "sound" that said it was necessary. When i pulled off the wheel (psgr side) and then the caliper/pads...noticed that the lower slide pin is seized and my pads were worn VERY uneven....I cant for the life of me get that pin to come out...what is the quickest/cheapest fix here...can i get just the caliper mounting bracket that the slide pin is in??? Oh ya one of the cylinders in the caliper is seized too...can i fix it or just get new ones??? I need to get this done ASAP gotta get out and back to work. tye I dont want to cheap out in exchange for safety so ill do whatever necessary!!!!!!!! HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!

  5. "THE BOOK" said that 15" steelies fit on my 2001...got them on clearance @ Canadian Tire for $23.00 each. But they "rubbed" on the calipers pretty bad and i had to get out the grinder. Now i have to put on new pads...ill have to grind more caliper...or get spacers!!!!! Tye

Was that done with a "gun" or traditional style????? Polynesians have a long history of traditional tattoing with a VERY sharp boar bone i think! Tye
  7. i agree bout the FUN...i look forward to winter driving. I'm always playing around in the snow (safely of course) and im a MUCH better driver because of it. A lot of people call it "screwing" around but i know what to do in most skids. Agree bout the other drivers and of course blustery whiteouts!!!!!! Tye
  8. I dont have a SFD (YET) but this is what ill say bout wheels/tires....I have 15" w/ 4.25" bs. I put on OME 1.75" coils..and got a set of almost new 80-85% tread 31x 10.5" Roughrider M/S. This B/S works JUST FINE. I dont think you could get a bigger tire on though, as there is only an inch or so of space between the edge of the tire and the bottom of the spring perch on the strut (straight up from, inner edge of tire) Also...with my 4.25" b/s there isnt enuff room for a wider tire as there is only 1-2" of space between tire/rim and inner shaft of strut tower. ( i dont want wider tires than 10-11" anyways) Now...about spacers or lower B/S...you can use either to "push" your tire/wheels out to fit bigger/wider tires...BUT...the more you move out/wider...the less clearance youll have to your outer fenders/flares. You might need to get out the BFH and grinder. With my 4.25" b/s right now...under full flex/compression (like when tire squished and tucked up in fender) i think that if they were pushed out any more than a inch more than theyd hit my current stock fenders/flares!!! And thats only 10.5" wide tires. Ill look for a couple pics...(just wiped puter recently) Tye P.S. Even with the SFD all the same clearance issues apply except for the fender is higher up. not the exact one i was looking for...but shows there isnt much room...i had one taken along the side of the truck to show it almost hits the flare but no findy!!!! P.S. Thats my son Kieran and my daughter Devynn.

  11. Im from Muskoka..."cottage country" and we like to party a little. Im a carpenter and we build dream "cottages" (8-12000 ft sq) on the lakes around here and we work hard. One day...we got off work early, noon i think, and 3-4 of us go to a buudies to drink so Crown and beers, and play a little darts. About 4 hours later i stumble down the road back to house and no one is home, so i decide im gunna grab another beer from the fridge. I "two step" my way into the kitchen, open up the fridge and grab a nice cold beer. Of course nothing goes better with a nice cold beer than a nice thick, extremly heavy glass frosty mug...in the top of the freezer...which is important because when my drunk ass opens up the freezer the mug falls out... SMASH and lands on my second last toe. S P L A T!!!!!!! OUCH!!!! F#$%^%!!!! Instanstly to the ground i go with blood EVERYWHERE and my toe three times wider than possible im sure. Well about ten mins go by and my wife and kids get home to take me to hospital....very embarrassed...very drunk and its only 4:30 in the p.m. I think i appologized to the hospital at least 50 times...LOL Oh ya...Xrays showed i chipped a couple of pieces of the bone off and 3-4 stitches. FUN TIMES ILL TELL YA!!!

My wife, Mary, came up with that one...surprised me...she really wants that one...just cant decide on the right wording/latout. I thought it would be funny if it looked like a clothing label "MADE IN/FABRIQUE AU CANADA" "NEW MATERIAL ONLY" "100% CANADIAN MADE" The leaf would be red and not blue. On the woodstock/snoopy...he should be bouncing off snoopy's doghouse...and i love the back piece...i know what you mean about shading tho...thats the most CRITICAL part and to make it blend/fade together is the key. Check these two out...one is fake but its cool...the other we found when researching flowers and stuff for Mary's...My fav Tat ive ever seen on her back there!!!!!!!! And im not a fan of butterflies tats. Tye

Good call Pezzy...shoould be a given with the tats...the story...if i can get the picture thing to work (im still newish) ill post ours (wifey and I) Hopefully that werks....well i always wanted a Can. flag but all it was a bit of a fad when i was 20 and they were all rectangular business cards...no life to em (the flag that is) so i waited till i was 30 to get the flag over my heart. The names were added later...my son Kieran and my daughter Devynn...we asked the tat artist too script out their names for us and he said if we wrote it (my wife got the same names on her ankle) it would be more personal!! Good point...soooooo...we took it a step further and we brought in the children to write a stencil of their names themselves!!!!! They were around 4 and 6. The guys at the shop just LOVED IT!!!! Couldnt get any more personal unless they did the ink itself eh??????? My wife got the roses for her birthday/mothers day this past year...its her birth flower and there is one there for each of us in our family. tye My next will be a photo realistic speckled trout ( fishing nut here) and my wife wants to get an old school Toronto Maple Leaf (NHL LEAF LOGO) in red with "made in Canada" or some derivitive on her upper back! Hey look at that...i did it with no help YAY!!!
  16. Not to bud-in here but on a related note...i had my tranny replaced...over a year ago...the truck hasnt been running well all year, electrical, ignition etc, plus it sat for a couple of months b4 suspension repl!! So i noticed lately its not shifting the best..lagging into 2nd when yer getting on it, then almost skipping and shifting twice! STRANGE. I read the manual and it suggests low fluid... and that extra fluid can cause foaming, fluid loss etc. So i check the tranny fluid. I check it warm...cold...hot...4-5 times and cant get a good reading. Finally i check it COLD but running...run thru gears and all like manual says...the fluid is an inch above the HOT mark. A friend and i determine there is TOO MUCH fluid and i drain a half a litre out!!!!!! I'm going to honest here...i find the dipstick VERY hard to read accurately...but i think its still a little too full!!! Oh Ya thought it would be worth mentioning that it was a NISSAN Tranny installed at a NISSAN dealership that i had NOTHING BUT A MILLION PROBLEMS WITH!!!!!!! (the dealer that is) P.S. The tranny shifts MUCH better and half the no power/accelleration issues ive been having were solved with removing some fluid...its like its been loosened up and accellerates much better! I cant beleive i never checked it b4!!!!! Tye Ive heard nothing but good things about that seafoam stuff!!!
  17. Your gunna get this response....USE THE SEARCH....ALL those ????? have been answered dozens of times over and over...most of the topics are "pinned" in top of the R50 section...meaning all repeated and important topics are all nicely laid out and organized. I spent at least 10-15 hours researching while i bought and installed my lift!!! I'm by NO means a mechanic but the time i took reading made my decisions easier and my installation smooooth(ish) On the other hand...i have a 2001 SE that ive recently lifted and such so P.M if u want? Tye
  18. Ya gotta give a big warm welcome to a guy with a name like "REDNECKDAVE" I like it!!!! 22. put it on jack stands and watch while ya wiggle..lol..if they ae suspect..and your gunna WHEEL THAT MONSTER then go for "greasable" lifetime warrany ones...im pretty sure that they are available. Mine came with locking nylon nuts instead of castle stud/cotterpin! Had to clamp BJ to LCA to Torque it properly!!! PITA Tye
  23. is that the rear four link bushings..i'm a little slow sometimes..LOL
  24. Well to clarify a bit...the front struts are ALL the same length bottom line. So new or existing struts can be used with a lift spring of .5-2". My .5 OME lift was more like 1.5-2". (my suspension was a little tired). According to my specs from the manufacturer the OME shocks that came with my lift..N61 is 23.9" ext. and 14.4" compressed. Now i beleive that is the same ext length as Original. (or real close) Kyb gas adjust shocks are 23.7"-15.2" Its not really a "LIFT" so much as suspension upgrade. You dont gain anymore suspension travel...just more clearance under truck and in wells for bigger tread!!! Help any??? P.M. if you like!!! Tye
  25.
